Fiat is expanding its S-Design model family with the 500X, which joins the 500L, the 124 Spider and the Tipo
Based on the Cross and Urban trim levels, the new 500X S-Design adds more visual presence with special color options, more equipment and unique features
Customers get to choose between Gelato White, Cinema Black, Moda Grey or the matte Alpi Green paint options
Other exterior features include black roof bars, a new front skid plate, tinted rear windows, bronze-colored side moldings and more
Inside, the new 500X S-Design gets a textured matte black dashboard fascia, model-specific upholstery, black anodized aluminum details, as well as eco-leather inserts
As with the rest of the S-Design models, the 500X features plenty of kit as standard, which in the Cross model includes full LED headlights, leather steering wheel, dual USB ports, cruise control, a 7-inch Uconnect infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Assist, and more
The powertrain lineup includes three petrol and three diesel units, and manual and automatic transmissions
The Firefly petrol range kicks off with the three-cylinder 118hp 1.0-liter turbo unit, followed up by the four-cylinder 147hp 1.3-liter turbo unit that's available only with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
Some markets will also get the option of the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter unit with 108hp
Fiat's Multijet diesel options start from the 94 hp 1.3-liter, followed by a 118 hp 1.6-liter.
The range-topping 2.0-liter diesel is the only one in the 500X's range to be offered with all-wheel drive and the nine-speed auto transmission
