Carlos Ghosn Suggests He's The Victim Of A Coup From Nissan - Duration: 2:02.

Carlos Ghosn has alleged that he is the victim of a plan to oust him as the chief executive of Nissan

The former industry executed was arrested in November and charged with falsifying financial reports in under-reporting his compensation

Ghosn has also been indicted on charges of breach of trust for his financial involvement with a Saudi businessman

While recently speaking with Nikkei from a Tokyo detention center where he has been held since November 19, Ghosn insisted that he was innocent

He went on to say that other Nissan executives forced him out with "plot and treason" and asserts that allegations about his financial misconduct were made with the "purpose of getting rid of me

" Carlos Ghosn isn't going down without a fight… Ghosn says he had discussed a plan with Nissan chief executive Hiroto Saikawa to integrate Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi closer together with the aim of ensuring the three maintained "autonomy under one holding company

" The Brazilian-born businessman also rejected claims that he ran Nissan as a "dictatorship," instead claiming that he was simply a strong leader

CNN reports that many Nissan executives were uncomfortable about Renault and Ghosn potentially gaining full control of the Japanese car manufacturer

Prosecutors in Japan claim that Ghosn understated his Nissan income by roughly $80 million between 2010 and 2018 and abused his power by using the company to help deal with personal investment losses

During his interview with Nikkei, Ghosn said these arrangements had been approved by executives within Nissan
