Welcome back to Sipa's garage.
This time I go to the BTCF track day at OuluZone where I went with my turbo e30
where now?
To the left. Follow the signs.
"Gate is closed because of the reindeers. Call so we can open the gate."
Funny that someone has written V over the P and it now spells thief instead of reindeer.
We came bit late so everyone else was already there. And some cars were even going on the track.
So it was time for me to go also.
But as I said in last video, I need to tune the engine more. Especially on boost because it's difficult area to tune on the traffic.
And i also need to feel out the car because I have not driven it for long time and there is lot of changes in the suspension and steering.
After couple of WOT pulls I tuned the engine more and then took more logging pulls.
So here is some other cars at the track while I was on the pit.
My car felt like it was missing some power. But the reason was totally wrong boost target table.
Also the VANOS wasn't working properly. But I then raised the boost, after I got the AFR's dialed in.
But that didn't well because the charge pipe to the throttle flap ruptured.
Is the autofocus on because this doesn't do anything...
This doesn't... no it...
Luckily I got some duct tape from fellow enthusiast to fix that.
I think this would hold normally but it had lots of cracks after just sitting in the garage.
And my boost target was just..
I was wondering why it starts pulling, but then dies.
The boost target was at 100. 100kPa. Which is absolute pressure.
So nothing.
..because it has hold until now.
or you are just being stingy.
And new try.
Can't be true..
And that was it..
And it didn't hold. So more duct tape and i dropped the boost target little bit to be sure..
And it did hold and i could tune the fuel map for bigger boost level also.
unfortunately the engine started overheating, even though previously the temps were rock solid.
So I had to cool down once in a while.
And the reason was that the electric fan had died for some reason.
But still I could do few fast laps. And without the overheating issue I couldn't do more because my undersized brakes prevented that.
Here is in-car video of the fastest lap.
You need to have second gear now.
go go go
You can go much faster.
You missed the gear..
And the brakes are gone...
After that more and more people started drifting.
I looked that it's lot taller than m50.
yeah no m50 here.
From distance I was wondering if it's 2jz or something because it looked so weird.
3 litre?
Yeah.
It doesn't work.
It doesn't return the steering.
Yeah I was looking the same. This side has more angle than the other.
yeah that's right. Those are self made so that could be it.
They did got that dyno tuned yesterday.
So I also swapped to some scrap tires and went to embarrass myself.
And just when I started to get hang on the cars behavior, the tires disintegrated.
Luckily the car got very minor damage. Lot like some others...
And Jarmo's tires are gone..
Poor Jarmo's car again..
The bumper seems to got some damage.
Oh fuck..
These are ripped away from the tank.
whoopsie
These are now leaking some gas..
And it's good now. What dropped there?
Some heat cover.
Have you water sanded the paint in this? Because it's so smooth.
No. It's straight from the spray gun. We haven't even fixed the dust particles yet.
And ready for some hard driving.
Mine isn't bad, but it's no even close to that finish.
This has also fallen off.
Because that looks like it was water sanded.
We are going to make that perfect when the car is in one piece.
Yeah. But do it now before it's now longer in one piece.
How has it worked?
Well until today.
Until today?
It started misfiring when i was driving here, because there was water on the spark plug hole after I washed it. And now it started to do that again.
Same thing in Petri's car because it was running on 5....
And that was it. For the end some extra video from the pits.
And if you are interested I have some more video of other cars driving in separate video. Which I have link on the top corner.
