hi guys welcome back to turbo today I have my 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT behind me and

this car is really awesome starting out for the basics the gt is powered

by a 2 liter four-cylinder producing 162 horsepower and 150 pound feet of torque

It may not seem a lot but it's car is a lot fun to drive

connecting to that really fun 2 liter engine is a front-wheel-drive powertrain

this powertrain provides a lot of torque to the front wheels so believe it or not

this car is actually base the only options that we actually put on his car

were these mud guards completely and as you walk around it looks great

for a base car doesn't come with hubcaps this car is equipped with 17-inch alloys

which look pretty awesome and rapping those alloys are 225 slash

45 R 17 tires hopping into the GT as you can see the interior is really nice

we opted for the black and beige interior and coming inside you guys can

see this car is really simple over on the side here where we have our controls

here you can see all the blank switches in this car so just shows how Base this

car is they have attracting the roll-off and we

also have our illumination light intensity so you can change the amount

of light that's when you have the gauge cluster when it's at nighttime right

here you guys can see we have our mirror controls we have left mirror right

mirror this is really simple up down however you guys wanna just it we also

have a window lock button we also have here the windows the drivers is the only

one that's powered down not up all the others are just normal windows I mean

the steering wheel here as you guys can see for a base car this does come with

cruise control all you have to do when your at speed is just press the cruise control

button and then press down to set and then your cruise control is alright it

works alright I mean it varies between like five miles an hour so it's

not the best system in the world but it'll get the job done for

$17,000 car gear shifter here we have two 12-volt 100 watt lights we also have

an aux cord and you have a USB plug which is used for the apple carplay and

android auto which is equipped in this vehicle also coming past that we have

our gear shifter here it's very nice actually the boot feels like a real

leather see all the blink switches here the only one here is drive mode is the

key to the GT it's really nice key actually has a lock unlock this button

actually doesn't work because this is a base car I don't know why they left it

on there and hold for alarm system it's like an old Audi key this is really nice

key actually because flips up like that it's really nice material I mean it is a

little plastic e but for this type of car it's really nice car does not come

equipped with a push-button start all you do is put the key in there turn it

on so you have this really nice little screen in the middle here you can toggle

the options with this toggle right here as you can see we have trip information

and we have the speed we have speed we have average miles we have the

temperature we have the miles and we also have the temperature of the engine

we have the fuel we have our speed and obviously there are PMS and as you can

see this is this drive mode select here is for sport throwing this back and

drive here as you can see we have plus minus so if you want to shift yourself

you just slam this to the left up down it's really simple to use this car is

really awesome you have also a lock button here which locks all the doors

and unlocks all the doors you also have your hazards this is your open and

closed for your vents here and that's about it as you can see we have a Bose

surround sound system and we have some tweeters up there system sounds pretty

good for this car also coming down here we have our parking brake

and we also have two cupholders here which is really nice I'm going to the

center here we also have this really nice it feels like real leather this

compartment where you can store all your goodies it's pretty deep

coming over to the stocks here as you can see we have your light control this

car does have auto auto light so they'll automatically turn on when it senses

that's raining or it's dark outside which is an awesome feature which not

many cars have so you have lights on obviously so I keep it on auto all the

time it's very convenient you have your signals obviously and coming over the up

we have variable intermittent wipers so you can change the settings of your

wipers and speed by using this dial here and we also have low high and all those

controls over there it's coming to the hatch area here as you can see this car

comes with a nice privacy shade which you can easily just take out by removing

these two little holders you also have a nice cargo net which is also removable

but it's also awesome for holding something that's gonna be sliding around

in the trunk space also coming around here you have a release on your seats so

you can pull them down and have even more trunk space seats in place just

like how it is now there's 24 point 9 cubic feet of area and the maximum cargo

capacity with all the seats down is fifty five point one cubic feet which is

a really awesome size I'm gonna hold plenty of stuff also you have another

little compartment under this trunk area here we have your spare tire and all

your tools and all that where you don't really need right now so I'll shut that

up wheelbase is about 105 inches and the width about 70 inches it's like gives

you a good size of this compared to like a

competiting cars like the Volkswagen Golf there is a pretty good amount of

room come about like five six I mean you can see plenty of room for my seen

position but everyone's as short as me so I mean if you're a taller person you

might be a little less comfortable back here those have a light illumination on

the pad here also in the backseat you see on the door we just all we really

have is just the window controls and the door

door pull their our Center here we have our cupholders hold two cups it's really

about eight guys we don't really get air conditioning back here since this is a

base car like I've said many times are this infotainment screen is equipped

with Bluetooth and it connects really fast right as you turn the ignition on

the phone automatically connects mine does it's so well that by the time I

turn the car and I'm already in Android auto so talk about the transmission this

has a six-speed automatic transmission but it another option is for a six-speed

manual or you can go for the sport which has a 7-speed DCT this is just the bass

GT not the sport so right here I have the six-speed automatic transmission and

it's pretty nice like you could as you can see here you can throw into manual

and sport mode which I like to do a lot and it does work pretty good up chest

and down shifts are fairly fast as you guys can see you an around the exterior

we have these really awesome daytime LED running lights in the front they look

absolutely awesome with the car alright guys time to take the GT out on the road

so let's put it in sport mode as you can see it illuminates on that little screen

there and put it in Drive and push it over for manual mode a lot of fun so as

you can see we get a live readout of the gear we're actually and so as you can

see it's a big one on the top and see when you're up shit it's fairly fast for

our neck down shafts are pretty fast overall this car is really fun to drive

when I first was trying to find a really fun color for my first one I really

wanted to get something really sporty like like a Golf R or something like

that but those were way too expensive and I saw this outside the Hyundai of

the dealership I had to go check it out

as in see guys he gets a move on pretty fast here at 60 is about like seven and

a half seconds so it does have a lot of torque in first and second gear but

overall overall once you get to like third and fourth gear doesn't really

pull as hard but it's fairly fun to drive at lower speeds around the back

roads like I said yeah these are all all these controls over here are mainly for

Android auto and apple carplay so you have your phone pick up and hang up

volume and this changes the music selection and you also have voice inputs

for that setting over here it's mainly about this little screen in the center

here we have your tire pressures like I said before this this is your cruise

control so all you do is press it and then push down and as you can see my

foots off the gas and it works pretty good it really varies between 1 and 2

miles an hour but it works very good as you can see guys it also is equipped

with a really nice high quality backup camera here

based on your steering inputs and for the price I mean this is a base car

coming with a really nice backup camera the thing is absolutely awesome
