We create our own environment.

SMART driving

My name is Stella Kibona and I'm from wonderful Malmö.

I'm 32 years old and I'm working at Transdev as a train driver.

I've been a train driver for 4 years and I enjoy it tremendously.

I became a train driver because I like to take responsibility.

In addition, I was actually inspired by a train manager.

I used to be a ticket inspector for G4S.

And I can remember when the train manager opened the door to the driver's cabin.

I just said "wow". It really was like that.

There was so much technology, so many buttons.

In addition, I'm a girl that likes speed,

so I thought "this I want to try", this is something new.

Some of you might have seen me in that reality show "Farmen".

Well, I hope I haven't embaressed myself too much.

Today, I'm here to introduce GreenSpeed,

a great tool for me in my work.

It's part of the company's environmental work: SMART driving.

As a train driver at Transdev, I follow a strict security protocol.

We also have a well-developed system for safety work.

In my role as a train driver, I use an aid as a support for my work

for a sustainable development.

SMART driving guides me to a more energy effective way of driving

and offers better comfort for our passengers

and everyone working onboard.

It's also a safety-related support.

Through the mileage position I can immediately see where I am.

In addition, it is clearly shown in the left column if I'm on the line

or within station limits. This may be important

for example when there's been an ATC error.

At stations where we don't always stop to drop off or pick up passengers,

we reduce the risks of missing the stop.

With SMART driving we can save more than 10 percent of our energy consumption.

Did you know that between Lund and Malmö can we save up to 50 percent?

How often do we train drivers really think about the environment?

Well, we already think we are doing so much good by driving our electric trains.

But we should learn to use the energy more efficiently.

On some stretches, the app guides me to a lower speed.

It causes less acceleration and less harsh braking.

It's gentle on our vehicles and leads to reduced maintenance needs.

If everyone used SMART driving we can actually achieve our goal.

And today that target is set at 2.5 percent of out total energy consumption.

Colleagues, what do you say? It should not be *that* hard to fix it?

If everyone uses SMART driving...

...we could save 2.5 percent of the total energy consumption.

It corresponds to...

288.000 kWh – every month!

It is as much as 690 single-family homes consume every month in household electricity.

It would make a Tesla to go more than 34 laps around the earth.

At the end of my working day, I feel good.

I know that at least I have done what I could.

I have driven our passengers in a safe way,

and taking into account the environment in the best way.

And my coworkers? Well, they have also had a better working environment.

I'm going home with a GREEN conscience. Do you?

How to Install a Smart Home Switch - Tech Tip Tuesday - Duration: 3:51.

What's up everyone Mtiesh here with M//TECH and today I'm gonna be showing you guys

how to install a smart switch. So I just did a review of a smart switch by the

company called Maxcio and one of the things that kind of disappointed me

about the Smart Switch was the fact that it didn't really come with any

installation instructions. Now for most people it may not be that hard but I had

no idea what I was doing so I figured it out and I decided to make a video about

how to install a smart watch for yourself. So let's get started.

[MUSIC]

OK, so before you guys do anything else make sure you turn off the power to the

switch. I'm here this is my breaker in my basement and I'm about to turn off the

power. You can see mine is actually pretty well labeled so I know which one

I need to turn off, which I believe is this one right here the family room,

10, let's find ourselves number 10 and flip. So once you verify that you have turned off the

power to the switch you need to take the faceplate off the switch so you'll need

a screwdriver in my case it needed a flathead and once the faceplate is off

you'll see a couple more screws this time Phillips and you'll need to take

those off as well once those screws are off you can see that the switch will

just pull out of the wall as you see and the wires will come with it. Now one

thing I forgot to mention before even starting this you really should make

sure that you have the white neutral wire behind your wall because you will

need this without this the Smart Switch will not work. Once you have the switch

out of the wall you need to take the two black wires out of the switch now this

is where I had a lot of difficulty honestly I struggled with this so much

that I ended up just cutting the wires because they were just not coming out of

the switch for you you may have an easier time, hopefully you do.

Okay so once you finally have the switch out of the way you can start hooking up

the rest of the wires. The Smart Switch comes with four wires in the back

there's the red, black, green, and white so the white one we already know is the

neutral wire, which will hook up to the white wires the green is ground

and we'll hook it up to the ground wire that I have and then the two red and

black wires will connect up to the two black wires that we took out of the

switch so to do this you just need to twist the wire around it and then just

make sure the metal parts are contacting and then you'll need to use a electric

wire connector to hook them up. You can buy these at your local hardware store

for like 30 pack for like just three dollars so I'll have some link down

below if you guys are interested from Home Depot but yeah I already had these

lying around so I just use them.

okay so I'm back down to my basement time to turn on the

switch, We'll see if it doesn't break anything. alright so here we are again let's

see that which one is it this one right here

okay nothing blew up so that's design now I'm gonna go test it now all right

so after flipping the right switch wrong I tested it it was working perfectly

I put the faceplate on and everything and we were good to go so yeah it's

really easy to install this though I wish it did come with some instructions

for those of us who aren't used to working on electrical things but yeah.

There you guys have it that's how you install a smart switch I hope you guys

like this if you found it useful go ahead and hit that like button and

subscribe if you guys want to see more videos like this. Be sure to check out my

review of the smart switch which I have going up today as well so thank you guys

so much for watching I'll catch you guys the next one bye

Make Your Light Switch Smarter - Maxcio Smart Switch Review - Duration: 4:47.

What's going on everyone Mitesh here with M//TECH and today I have a review for you guys of

another smart home product, this time it's a smart switch by a company called

Maxcio. And just to be up upfront with you guys, Maxcio did send this out to me for

free for a review, but that by no means affects my opinion of this device so

with that out of the way let's get started.

Alright so let's start off by

talking about what is a smart switch and why you'd want one. So a smart switch is

a smart home version of a light switch and you can use it to replace an

existing light switch you already have and the reason you may want to do this

is basically you just want to be able to control that light switch using an app

or using a voice assistant like Google assistant or Amazon Alexa which this

smart switch does support both of those. For me in particular I wanted to

replace the light switch that controlled the ceiling lights in this room because

the light switch is outside this room so every time we were to turn on or off the

light I would have to walk out of the room turn on, or turn off the light, and

then walk back in. Now that may not sound that inconvenient but when I'm trying to

record video or trying to do my work it was just really kind of a hassle to do.

But now that I replaced it I can just control it with the Google home that I

have back on that desk. So now let's talk about the smart switch that you get here

with from Maxcio. What you get inside of the box is the smart switch itself

you get a faceplate you get some screws to hold it in place and you get some

instructions on how to connect it to the app and how to get working with Google

assistant and Amazon Alexa. What you don't get are some wire connectors that

you may need, If you have some lying around the house that's great if you

don't they're like three dollars for a 30-pack so not a huge deal, I found some

lying around the house, so that was good for me, and another thing that you don't

get, which actually comes are kind of a big deal, is the fact that you don't get

any instructions on how to install the switch itself. For someone like me who's

never done any electrical work around the house this was kind of inconvenient

because I had no idea what I was doing, so I googled around found some

instructions, got it done, it wasn't that hard but yeah it would have been nice

they included some instructions. Lucky for you guys however I did actually make

a video on how to install it yourself so you guys can check that out it'll be up

here somewhere and in the description guys are interested. In that video I just

go over the instructions on how to do it, and like I said

it's actually pretty simple it's just something that if you've never done

before, it's good to watch a video on how to do it. Once you get it

installed however this thing works like a charm and you will have no issues with

it whatsoever, it uses the smartlife app which is the same as the smart plugs

that I got before which is fantastic for me so I don't have another app to

control this and and it also works with Amazon assistant or Amazon Alexa and

Google assistant perfectly so once again no issues there whatsoever. Some other

functionality you get with it is being able to set a timer so you can actually

set it up to turn on everyday at a certain time or turn it off everyday at

a certain time. It's a great way like for me if I'm in the office for too late if

I want to know that I want to get out of the office by a certain point I can just

turn off the light at like 10 p.m., and I know that it's 10 p.m. and I should

probably start making my way out of the office. So yeah there are some nice

functionality to it. One of the few downsides of the app itself is, at least

on Android, it has no widget I really kind of wish they would add a widget

support for it so that can just have something on my home screen so you

quickly turn on and off lights and whatever else is plugged into those

smart plugs, but it's not something that they have so just a minor complaint

right there. Other than that you can still use the switch as a normal light

switch so it's a push button so you just push it to turn it on and push it once

again to turn it off, so it works fine that way something it's a little weird

at least in terms for us Americans is the fact that red actually means that

it's on and green means it's off which definitely is backwards in terms of how

I think but it's not really a huge deal for me but yeah other than those small

complaints and the fact that it doesn't come with instructions on how to install

it I have no problems in recommending this Smart Switch. If you guys can make

use of a smart switch like this inside of your house somewhere I would say I

would wholeheartedly recommend you go ahead and get this it retails for around

26 dollars on Amazon and yeah for that price I think it's great. I could have

replaced the lights that are inside of this ceiling light with smart bulbs

but that would have cost me at least $20 a piece

and there's three light bulbs in there so $60 to for that versus $30 for a

light switch I think it's no brainer just to go with a light switch and

that's pretty much all I have for you guys in this one if you guys liked it

don't forget to hit that subscribe button and hit that like button and I

will catch you guys in the next one. Bye

you

DO NOT buy this $100 Smart Lock... - Duration: 6:09.

Security – its pretty important.

Today we're going to talk about 2 methods of securing your stuff.

One is this high-tech fingerprint scanning padlock from Tapplock.

We'll see if we can physically hack our way into it and see how it works.

And the second is securing yourself online or on your cell phone with a VPN.

Huge thanks to NordVPN for sponsoring this video.

Let's get started.

[Intro]

Unlocking smartphones with fingerprints has been around for years now.

It's effective and pretty darn efficient.

Today we have a padlock that can use a fingerprint to unlock – the Tapplock One.

It seems pretty high tech.

It's been seen on CNN, Unbox Therapy, and raised over $300,000 on IndieGoGo last year

before going into production.

And like always, on my channel we're going to see how it works...from the inside.

You might be thinking to yourself, 'Hey Jerry, it seems pretty cool, why shouldn't I buy

it?'

Well, let me tell you.

The little guy has a proprietary charging port and a power button down at the bottom...nothing

wrong with that yet.

One click of the power button activates the fingerprint scanner which allows you to scan

one of your fingers and unlock the lock.

Pretty simple, right?

I'm a fan of it so far.

The little contraption can hold 500 different fingerprints and has a 1 year battery life.

It's even IP66 water resistant.

So as long as your treasure chest isn't locked up underwater, it'll still work just fine

in the rain or the elements.

Thumbs up for all of that so far.

Plus, the whole thing is made from metal, which makes you think it would be hard to

get inside of, but sit tight and let's find out.

Scratching up the face revealed the whole front of the lock with solid metal.

And the sides are also metal.

And even the back of the Tapplock is metal, with no visible openings...or so I thought.

At first it didn't appear that the back was removable – it wouldn't pry off when I tried.

Before I break out the heavy artillery though and review this from the inside, let's scratch

the fingerprint scanner.

A few initial scratches and the lock still opens just fine.

You can hear the little motor inside motoring up the shackle and unlocking the padlock.

Even after a few more scratches, the lock still functions.

So far it appears to be solidly constructed, durable, and secure...or so, at least that's

what I thought.

Let's keep going.

I broke out the dremel to gauge the thickness of the metal, but trying to cut through the

stainless steel and advertised anti-shim and anti-pry design, my dremel just wasn't making

it through the body.

Even dremeling through the fingerprint scanner itself, there was zero ways for a hacker to

unlock the lock and steal your stuff, like your bike or your sweaty gym clothes, from

this side.

It was only after I brought out the big guns that I find the fatal flaw in Tapplock's design.

[Drilling sounds]

Got it!

It was about here that I realized that the back panel of the lock wasn't secured at all.

Right next to that sliced in half lithium ion battery.

It just falls away from that lock.

Apparently I was opening it wrong before.

It doesn't pry off – it's a twist-to-unlock like a jar.

I couldn't see that until I had a view from the inside.

I'll be testing my twist off theory in a second.

Digging deeper, there were three normal Phillips head screws on the back half of the lock.

And once those were unscrewed, the face of the lock fell away revealing more normal Phillips

head screws and a metal plate covering the motor.

Once those were gone and I got inside, I can lift up the locking bar in the center, and

the shackle comes completely free from the housing exposing your goods to the world.

If my theory is correct, anyone with a simple screwdriver could hack this lock in under

30 seconds.

So should we try it?

Yeah.

We should.

I went out and bought another $100 brand new Tapplock, available on New Egg and Best Buy,

opened up the box and twisted off the back of the lock like an expensive cookie jar,

using a GoPro mount.

Revealing a battery and 3 screws.

And in the space of about 30 seconds, I had the front panel off, and it's screws removed,

and the locking bar up and out of the lock housing.

And all of my stuff that was previously locked up in the shackle is now not my stuff anymore.

Obviously a thief walking around with bolt cutters could totally steal your bike in a

bout 30 seconds as well.

But no one is ever going to call the cops on a guy with a screwdriver.

This lock just doesn't do a good job of locking.

Tapplock could easily fix this problem by welding the back shut, or even using proprietary

screws inside instead of a normal Phillips head.

I'll be more than happy to make a follow up video if Tapplock decides to fix these issues

with the next version of their lock.

As of right now though, the lock costs $100 and can easily be hacked in 30 seconds by

anyone with a normal screwdriver and a GoPro mount.

So I just can't really recommend anyone buy it.

Bad guys are always going to find a way to figure out how to do bad stuff, so it's good

to find out from the good guys if there's a flaw or not in the system.

And speaking of good guys, rated Number One Virtual Private Network by PC Magazine, is

NordVPN.

They had nothing to do with this lock situation.

I seriously thought this thing was going to be fine.

A Virtual Private Network does a couple different things.

One, it encrypts your network traffic from one location to the other, so your information

is untrackable when you're on a public Wi-Fi like an airport or hotel.

Everyone knows that Virtual Private Networks, or VPNs can be used on computers, but they

can also be used on cellphones like Androids, and iPhones, and Windows phones.

And with NordVPN, it can secure 6 devices simultaneously: your computer, your laptop,

and all of your cellphones.

And since NordVPN has over 4,000 servers in over 62 different countries, it can appear

like your traffic's coming from anywhere.

And you can get around country specific censorship laws, like in China and the Middle East.

Or if you want to access a YouTube video that's not available in your country, you can just

jump on a different server.

For a totally risk-free trial of NordVPN, you can use discount code 'jerryrig' and get

a 77% discount off of a 3 year plan.

I think it comes down to like 2 dollars and 75 cents a month.

Www.nordvpn/jerryrig and if you don't like it, at least you're protected for those 30

days, and their 24/7 customer support will take care of you either way.

It's probably a lot more secure than this thing was.

If you have any questions, leave them down in the comments.

And if Tapplock ever does any upgrades or updates to their lock to make it more secure,

you'll find out here first.

Thanks a ton for watching, and I'll see you around.
