1999-2004 Mustang Ford Cowl Vent Grille Review & Install - Duration: 5:35.

Hey, guys.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Ford Cowl Vent Grille for

1999 to 2004 Mustangs.

This is a Ford original equipment part so it's going to be perfect for those of you

out there looking for an OEM part to replace a broken, cracked, or even faded vent.

It's an OEM part so it has that OEM quality.

It's great for accident repair or you even just restoration.

It has a black grainy textured finish to it, costs about $215, and I'm going to call the

install a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter.

We'll go ahead and show you how it installs now.

For this install, we used a small flathead screwdriver, and a Phillips head screwdriver

bit.

You can use it like this or in a ratchet like this.

All right, guys, to start your install, you'll need to remove your wiper blades.

So in order to do that, you'll take your wiper blade, you'll bend it up like this.

There is a pin right here at the base of the wiper blade.

You'll push the pin and leave the wiper arm up and that'll allow you to remove it.

We'll do the same thing on the other side.

So we'll bend the wiper arm up.

This is the pin right here.

What I'm going to do is I'm going to use my left hand, I'll push the pin over and out,

and then I'll be able to lift up on the wiper arm and pull it off.

For the next step, we'll pop the hood and you'll need to remove this seal or the

weatherstripping that's right here.

So all you're going to do is peel up on the corner, and then the remainder of it will

peel off.

Then you'll have three push pins along the front of the cowl to remove.

We have push pins with a threaded center, so I went ahead, unthreaded the center, and

now I'm just going to pull the push pins out.

For the next step, you'll close your hood and then what you're going to want to do is

get your fingers underneath the back side of the cowl.

It is held in by push pins, so if you just work your way along and pry up gently, it

should pop out of place.

All right, from here, what we're going to do is we're actually going to flip the cowl

over and we need to disconnect our windshield washer nozzles.

All right, so this right here is what you're looking to remove.

So we need to work this off.

You'll have to do the same thing down here at this one.

Now we'll unclip this line here and we can pull the cowl panel off.

Before we get our new vent installed, we do need to transfer over our nozzles.

So we'll just pop those out real quick and then transfer them into the new vent.

I'll squeeze the clip on the front of this, rotate it back towards me, and it'll fall

right out of place.

Then these will install from the front, just going to clip right into place.

All right, so now we're going to slide this into place.

Basically what we're doing right now is just looking for general placement.

Do keep in mind that you will need to connect your nozzles so we're not going to snap anything

down into place yet.

So first what I'm going to do is I'm going to rotate this up.

I'm going to get my nozzles in place.

I'll walk around and grab the other side too.

I'll connect this one.

Now we're just going to try to slide this into place.

So I'm working on the driver's side corner over here.

I'll slide this corner into place.

Once you have the vent fully seated, you can go ahead and install the supplied push pins.

So these will push into place and you'll need a Phillips head to tighten them down.

We do have a 1/4 inch wrench here.

Now we can get our weatherstripping back in place.

Then we can close the hood and reinstall our wiper blades.

So basically what I'm doing here is a little bit of trial and error.

You do want to check and see the alignment of the blade and where it's going to sit on

the windshield before you lock this back down into place.

I like where this one is sitting so now we're going to finish with the other side.

So we're going to do the same thing on this side, I'm going to get the blade set, just

going to test and see where it's going to be laying.

Looks good right about there.

We'll push the pin in, and drop the blade on the windshield.

All right, guys, that's going to wrap up this review and install.

Ford President Says 2020 Bronco Will Have Familiar Styling, Is An Exciting Product - Duration: 2:22.

Ford has been tight-lipped about the 2020 Bronco as they've only released a handful of teaser photos suggesting the model will be squarely aimed the Jeep Wrangler

Ford's silence is starting to break as the company's North American president, Kumar Galhotra, has provided a few hints about the highly anticipated SUV

Speaking to Automotive News, around the 8:40 mark, Galhotra describes the Bronco as a brand asset that has a lot of name recognition

He goes on to say whatever model wears the nameplate needs to live up to expectations associated with the moniker

In essence, Ford doesn't want to pull a Chevy and revive a classic name – like Blazer – only to slap it on a crossover and call it a day

Galhotra went on to say the Bronco name implies a certain styling and noted designers had to determine which classic styling cues made the Bronco, a Bronco

He added their designers have plenty of experience with this as the company's latest Mustang is still recognizable as a Mustang even after 55 years

The Bronco name also means the model will have a certain kind of capability and Galhotra says the automaker has to "deliver on that

"He didn't go into specifics, but the executive is likely taking about off-road performance

Unsurprisingly, Ford has been conducting a lot of research on the Bronco and Galhotra said they're listening to both Bronco enthusiasts as well as younger consumers who have never driven a Bronco before

Speaking of the latter, he said older Broncos are one of most popular vehicles with millennials

Galhotra went on to describe the 2020 Bronco as "one of the most exciting products" going on right now

The executive also said he has seen the finished design and it "puts on a smile on my face

Seven-Seat 2020 Ford Kuga To Replace Slow-Selling Edge In Europe - Duration: 2:12.

The company's European division will also follow a similar path in the future, according to an official announcement earlier this year

That decision shouldn't come as a surprise for anyone given that SUVs and commercial vehicles are Ford's only profitable vehicles in Europe

However, not all Ford SUVs are doing great on the Old Continent.While Ford sold 153,542 Kugas and 111,856 EcoSports last year, it only managed to convince 9,527 Europeans to buy its Edge range-topping SUV (pictured)

Edge sales fell 41 percent in 2018 over the previous year.According to Autonews Europe, Ford will fix that by replacing the Edge with a seven-seat version of the next-generation Kuga

The automaker will bring at least two new SUVs to Europe this year: a Fiesta-based replacement for the EcoSport and an all-new Kuga which will follow the debut of the Escape

Unlike its predecessors, the new Kuga will feature a seven-seat version for the first time, allowing Ford of Europe to stop importing the unsuccessful Edge from the United States

More SUVs are expected to arrive in Europe later on, including two U.S.imports: the baby Bronco and the "Mustang-inspired" electric crossover

Ford needs to expand its SUV portfolio in Europe given that only 27 percent of the passenger vehicles it sold in the region last year were SUVs — in a market where SUVs accounted for 35 percent of all European sales in 2018

That has to change and Ford has provided a clear hint at its intentions in January when it announced that it earmarked 90 percent of its global capital allocation through 2023 for "trucks and utilities
