 Camper trailer concept utilises old Nissan Leaf battery pack that offers up to seven days of off-grid power

 Nissan has collaborated with Opus Campers to create a concept camper trailer that features second-life battery packs from the Leaf EV to offer "up to a week's worth" of off-grid power for remote adventures

 Incorporating the vehicle manufacturer's new Energy Roam system, a portable weather-proof power pack with 700Wh capacity, the concept camper trailer offers both 230V and 12V circuits with enough juice for "around seven days of camping", aided by the on-board solar panel accessory

 "The concept allows campers to remain connected and enjoy the comforts of home, whilst having the freedom to travel to remote areas," Nissan said in its press release

 In addition to acting as a power source for the camper trailer, the Energy Roam power storage unit can be removed from its housing and recharged via a standard 230V socket, or by plugging into the solar panel accessory

 "Our customers already have the ability to take control of their energy use at home through Nissan's residential storage solutions," said Francisco Carranza, managing director for Nissan Energy, "Now we can give them complete independence to experience 'off-grid' adventures

"  "The new Nissan Energy Roam can deliver clean, sustainable power to the most remote of locations, and be enjoyed by everyone

" Opus is a UK-based camper manufacturer, that distributes across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand

 The Nissan x Opus concept will be shown at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham, UK, from February 19-24

 Following its public debut, the Nissan Energy Roam power system will be launched in Europe later this year, with pricing in the region to be announced "in due course"
