Audi A1 Sportback. Moose test

All the attempts we have made with the Audi A1 Sportback, from the first to the last, have followed the same response pattern.

It has always reacted with confidence, stability and precision. In this first attempt, without even knowing the reactions of the car,

the driver did not have any problem to overcome the test without knocking down cones.

The attempt that we overcome at a higher speed without touching cones was with an entry speed of 79 km/h.

The trajectory of the A1 Sportback is fidel to the driver's orders on the steering wheel. The rear axle tends to slide smoothly and helps to improve the line to enter the third lane of cones quickly.

The electronic stability control acts in a not very perceptible way and barely applies the brakes

In the following images it is easy to see how the increase in the speed of entry carries a very small changes of the reactions of the car.

We were close to obtain an optimal result without knocking down cones entering at 82 km / h.

In all the attempts we made, an acoustic alarm sounded inside of the car, that warned of the activation of the security devices.

In some cases, the emergency lights were automatically activated and, in none of the cases, the brake lights came on.

At an entry speed of 83 km / h, the body begins to suffer small lateral rebounds that, however, do not affect the trajectory of the car with severity.

Slalom

The steering of the Audi A1 Sportback is very direct and helps to link turns very quickly.

The car is stable, although the stability control, which is not completely disconnectable, acts quickly when it detects a small loss of grip on the wheels.

The sportive tires of our test unit gave a very good grip and allowed progressive reactions.
