Hey everybody it's Rick from R. C. Kinsmon Studio. Thanks for joining me today I'm gonna

share with you the gift I made my sister for Christmas and she just recently got

married back in October this last year so I thought I'd be cute to make her a

little sampler so I've picked up a frame from Walmart the mainstay and that's

what I'm going to be using as 8x8 so I've cut a piece of eight by eight

lovely lipstick cardstock and I'm gonna be using the forever love stamp set

which is new in the occasions catalog which will be out January 3rd excuse me

okay I have three pieces of crumb cake that is cut at two by two three pieces

of flirty flamingo which is cut it two by two I have a piece of another piece

of crumb cake that I cut at two and three quarters by four and a quarter I

also have another piece of Flirty Flamingo which was cut at four and

one-eighth by two and five-eighths then I have six scrap pieces of DSP from the

all my love a designer series paper which were cut at one in three quarters

by one in three quarters I've already die cut one of the the

fancy heart die from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits

I'm sorry I can't remember stitch Shh I can't remember the name of things I'm

still learning I'm sorry and I also have the irregular heart and a stitched heart

cut that we're going to be using and the name of those framelits are right here

Be Mine stitched framelit dies and if you haven't seen them this is what they look

like they're really intricate

that's what we're gonna be using and I've cut a photo down that I stole off

her Facebook page my goal I had it printed and I cut it down to four by two

and A two and a half so when we move this out of the way

the first thing I'm gonna do is do my photos because that's gonna be my main

focal image so I'm going to layer my flirty flamingo and my crumb cake

together

then I'm gonna go ahead and layer my photo this is a photo of her and her

husband and their daughter

in order to keep my fingers off the photo

okay okay excuse me now I took two of the one of the crumb

cake and one of the for the flirty flamingo pieces of cardstock and I ran

them through the emboss the big shot with the tin tile textured

impression embossing folder boy that's a mouthful so I'm going to kind of place

those where I think I'm gonna want them

okay now let's see let's layer some stuff together and I think we're gonna

move this one up here you can separate these two yes a lot that much better

okay so I'm going to go ahead and we're gonna put down some paper so let's

figure out what paper we lock

kind of like that I know I like this one I think that should go right there I

think we'll put another piece of that right here just so we kind of come hear

it so we'll switch that to hearts I think

we'll do another cell pattern how about we do this one yeah that's better okay

so I'm gonna go ahead and layer these up

so I'll be right back after I get all of these pieces adhere to the vases mmm

okay I've got all my designer paper attached now zoom in just a tad for

y'all

a little too much okay so now we're going to start laying all these pieces

down so I do have a template that I'm going to kind of line up here and I just

took a piece of cardstock make sure that it's even I'm just gonna line it up

right there I kind of cut the cardboard down so that I could get this rise

another thing you can do is take a t-square

and kind of misery where you want it

which is right there so I might add some liquid glue here

it's kind of a bow on the bottom

I move it around

okay let's go ahead and attach our top pieces

and a little more clue there

check this side

okay

here's a remind that really good

okay now let's go ahead we're going to attach our photo

okay now I'm gonna add my heart right here

and I chose this because I wanted you to represent the love they have I thought

it'd be sweet for a Christmas present

and I'm making this before of course I'm making it before I give it to her but

I'm hoping it'll make her cry yes yes I am that name

and probably make her husband cry more than her which be funny okay I'm gonna

take my detail doc hurt and I'm gonna use my dye brush and I add and get all

those little pieces out and yes I keep my die cut my dye brush in a box i paper

pumpkin box now we're gonna add a little liquid glue behind this

takes very very little

I had that right there

I kind of intertwine okay now we're going to add a sentiment so I need a

strip for that I'm gonna use a piece of one-inch whisper wah and then I'm gonna

cut it down to what I need so I think I'm gonna put it right here with a

little flag but I'm not sure yet my move this out of the way I'm gonna use the

sentiment from wishing you forever lovely and it said the sentiment is says

I love you until the day after forever I

thought that was really sweet since it was further wedding so I'm gonna use

lovely lipstick and I'm just think that up and I'm going to stamp it down hope

we're straight okay and I'm gonna cut off how about right there we're gonna

flag that and

okay

it's gonna go right there and I'm gonna put that on a couple dimensionals

okay now to finish that off I have some extra little hearts that I'd I cut

earlier from another project and I'm going to attach those and I'm going to

use my take your pick tool to do that

and start with two

go ahead add one more here

we go

okay I'm gonna add one more thing I'm gonna add just a little bit of ribbon

right down here so we have just a little bit of texture going on down there okay

so I've pulled and the all my love ribbon combo back and I'm gonna use a

some of the flirty flamingo ribbon and I just want to tie just a little bow

so I'm going to trim this off

and attach that with a mini glue dot

here

and then we're gonna add this last little heart

just right there I'm actually supposed to have one more but it's going AWOL so

that is project for today and I don't know why I'm putting my mini glue dots

back in my three pain pack so all these supplies will be available on January

third you can pick those up in my online store then I'll look forward to showing

you more projects with these new occasions catalog make sure you come

back and make sure you subscribe make sure you subscribe to my channel and I

will see you later bye guys love you

you

How to Use External GPU with Older Mac Mini - Duration: 6:01.

hey welcome back to the channel all right so one of the easiest ways to

improve the graphical performance of a Mac is to use an external GPU now the

problem with that is that apple only officially supports macs with

Thunderbolt 3 connections and not those with Thunderbolt 2 but there is a way to

get that working and that's what I'm going to show you today

everything I show you is going to apply to just about anything with the

Thunderbolt 2 port be it a Mac Mini and iMac or MacBook Pro but today I'm going

to show you how to use an external GPU on an older Mac Mini, so here we go.

alright now

Before we jump into the tutorial I just want to make it clear I'm not gonna be

doing benchmarking or anything like this to show you the improvements if that's

something you want to see leave a comment down below and I'm happy to do a

before and after video on some games and some video editing even some 3d programs

if you want to see that now there's four things you're gonna need to make this

work on the hardware side not including the computer

I love links down in the description to all four of these but you're gonna need

the e GPU enclosure I use the sonnet EDF X breakaway box it's 200 bucks on Amazon

it's a really really solid breakaway box it's Thunderbolt 3 and I would

definitely recommend if you don't get this one that you get an enclosure with

Thunderbolt 3 don't get the Thunderbolt 2 enclosure because then you're kind of

limiting yourself with the Thunderbolt 3 enclosure you're kind of future proofing

yourself a little bit the next thing you're going to need is that video card

that goes inside that a GPU enclosure I'll have a link down in the description

that takes you out to a site from Apple that shows you all the officially

supported video cards for EGP use now the method I'm going to show you today

allows for some additional cards that aren't on that list but if you want to

stay official check out that link use one of those cards I'll be using a

radiant rx 470 for today's tutorial the next thing you're gonna need because

this is a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure is you're gonna need a Thunderbolt 3-2

thought of all to adapt there I've tried a whole bunch of them and the only one

that I've gotten to work is the one from Apple so if you know of another one that

works please leave that down in the comment section especially if it's a

little bit cheaper than that Apple one so we can all save a few bucks then

after that the last thing you're going to need is the Thunderbolt 2 cable that

goes from that adapter into the back of your Mac Mini

or your iMac or your MacBook Pro whatever Thunderbolt 2 device you're

using and then you are ready to go on to the software side so let's check that

out right now all right so we got the GPU put in the enclosure everything

hooked up and we are here on the desktop the first thing I want to do is show you

what happens if we don't run in a script and just try to run it right now so I'm

going to plug the Thunderbolt 2 into the back of the Mac Mini here let it start

up and we can see it starts up and normal but it's not showing any GPU and

that is the problem because this is a unsupported Mac it's got a Thunderbolt 2

and even though we have a support of GPU in a supported GPU enclosure it's not a

supported Mac so we have to run a script called purge Wrangler on here to get

this to work so I'm gonna unplug this Thunderbolt 2 and this is the purge

Wrangler Wrangler page its github page I'll have a link down in the description

that'll take you out there so you here read through this if you want but once

you're on this page you just take the text in the installation section copy

that and paste it into a terminal window I'm gonna paste that and execute it and

this is going to download the script and execute it you're gonna have to type in

your password and it's gonna run through now it'll take a few seconds I've run

this on my computer before it'll take a little bit longer for you but once it

comes up really the only things you have to worry about are the AMD GPU and the

NVIDIA GPU don't worry about the rest of this stuff if you use in Mojave use an

AMD GPU because Mojave does not have web drivers for NVIDIA GPUs yet so just to

be safe use AMD GPU and like I said use that a supported card list that I linked

down below to use a card that's supported I'm using the rx 470 so I'm

going to select AMD it's gonna start running through it and basically what

this is going to do is it's going to trick the system into thinking we have a

supported Mac so we're gonna go ahead and hit yes we're going to enable this

TI 82 and let it run this is going to run for just a few minutes and then when

it's done we'll go ahead and restart our system and give that

external GPU or try again alright so we're all done we're gonna go back to

the main menu here quit out and restart the system and I'll be back when it's

restarted all right so here we are we are freshly restarted after installing

purge Wrangler and I'm gonna go ahead and plug in that external GPU again and

see what happens the second it should pop up here and there it is it's

switching over because it detected our GPU and if we take a look we can see

that we have the AMD Radeon rx4 70 at this point we can just yank out that

HDMI cable from the back of our Mac and everything go run off the external GPU

giving us much better performance and applications and games 3d apps video

editing all that kind of good stuff so there you go that is how to use an eGPU

on an older Mac Mini or iMac or MacBook Pro anything with a thunderbolt tube

connection this should work that script works great I've been using this after

you get it all set up you can even restart and it still uses the e GPU you

don't have to run that command every time and it vastly improves the game

performance again if you want to see a dedicated video on that showing you some

before and after leave a comment down below I'm happy to do a video for you on

that and hopefully you found this useful and informative if you did please give

it a thumbs up if you really liked it and you haven't subscribed yet please

consider doing so and come see me on Twitter Instagram and Facebook I love

meeting new people on there and chatting with them and I will see you in the next

video

Solar-Powered Mini-Grids Bring Security and New Economic Opportunities in Ghana - Duration: 3:12.

In Africa, 600 million people lack access to electricity.

Agatha was one of them.

[Agatha Abotse, Seamstress, Aglakope, Ghana] It was difficult operating my business when we didn't have access to electricity.

I couldn't work at night in those days but now I do.

I now use an electric iron and don't buy charcoal any more.

My business has improved greatly.

With electricity, comes new opportunity for Agatha and her community.

Today, Ghana is providing electricity to more than 83% of its population—the second highest

in Sub-Saharan Africa.

But connecting remote areas like Aglakope to the national grid has proven to be nearly

impossible.

The solution?

A solar powered mini-grid.

An affordable, renewable alternative that can connect the homes and businesses in remote

areas to power.

These rural towns on the volta river will now enjoy uninterrupted power--bringing new

life, security and economic opportunity.

[Prince Nissawu, Teacher] The light has indeed brought a very positive

change to the members of the community and, to be specific, my students.

With the light they've been able to learn in the evening which helped them to progress

in their academic performance, especially in the class.

[Nathan Bafloe, Opinion Leader and Government Appointee]

Today, we move freely around at night without fear due to the presence of street lights.

Here in the village, we experience the same quality of life as those in the city.

Actually, we're better off because we don't experience frequent power outages as they do.

The government of Ghana with support from IDA, the World Bank's fund for the poorest,

constructed solar powered mini-grids in five island communities on the Volta River to bring

sustainable electricity to these remote areas.

These solar powered mini-grids are supplying reliable energy to 10,000 Ghanaians helping

Ghana achieve its goal of energy for all.

[Sottie Atsu, Assemblyman] Before this project there were a lot of

challenges in this community here.

People outside come to this community and steal from us but because of this project

they stop coming.

We are getting pure water.

We are watching TVs.

[Naomi Dagrey, Cold Store Owner, Aglakope] I used to experience a lot of financial difficulties when we didn't have access to electricity.

Once we got connected to electricity, I invested in a refrigerator, which I use to sell frozen beef and chicken.

I use the profit from my business to support my husband,

to pay our children's school fees and also to support myself.

Scaled-up across the continent, solar powered mini-grids could be Africa's solution to

achieving universal access to electricity.

'I Am Heath Ledger' 10 Minute Preview Mini Doc | Paramount Network - Duration: 13:31.

Hello.

Yeah. We're going to go on a mission right now.

Yes, will you come with me? Oh, you will.

I'm going down the street and I get a hit.

Heath, Heath, Heath, Heath.

Sure enough, the next day I said,

"I'm going to hear about something, Heath.

There's something going on." The next day, I got your email.

I honestly think that the earth is off axis.

I think there's something that is universally out of alignment

with what happened.

I'm not supposed to be talking about this with you.

This isn't supposed to be being made.

This is fucked up. This is not something

that is supposed to be happening right now.

Heath was the most alive human.

If it wasn't on the edge, it didn't interest him.

If there wasn't a risk, some type of risk involved,

he had no time for it.

He went all the way out in the time that he had.

He went all the way to the edge.

Some people are just bigger than the world has room for.

One of the things that happens

is when you're good at something in a movie,

everyone offers you that same thing.

He did a great job being in a teen romantic comedy, basically.

Anything that resembled 10 Things I Hate About You

came his way.

Of course, that's exactly what he didn't want to do next.

He wanted to mix it up and find a new challenge.

That moment was a very important next step.

Okay, what do we want to do next?

What do we really want to do if we have a choice?

He was always very friendly.

He never seemed out of sorts about it,

but he knew what he didn't want. He was always very appreciative

of coming to a house full of art and artists.

I am filming right now.

He got this camera,

and he didn't know what to do other than to make something.

It wasn't just to film us and film what we were doing.

He was creating something straight away.

He always used to say to me, "Don't forget your camera,"

and I was like,

"What am I going to film between here and there?"

He was like, "I don't care. You could film your feet."

But we'd watch a lot of our videos back.

He was just curious, and watching it,

and thinking how he could do things different.

That's how he learned. He never studied anything, really.

He was self-taught.

He could really see what he was doing

and how to do that better or different.

Even if it was the way he smiled or where he was looking,

he'd make a lot of things just for himself,

just to teach himself.

That's right...

"...Evil super-villains..."

Evil super-villains.

"...civilian men and women."

Who? Got it, boss. Let's go!

Okay, I've got my mission. We're at the peephole.

You never know who's out there waiting.

The screen test for The Patriot came up with Mel Gibson,

who's the biggest Australian movie star.

That was one of his idols. He loved Mad Max.

It was a huge, huge thing for him.

It was an actual screen test in costume

on the set with the main star.

Heath called me and said,

"They're not calling you on this one.

I just didn't do well,"

and it was something, enough there,

that Roland Emmerich and the studio

and Mel all looked at each other

and, I think, said, "You know, let's take a shot."

This is first day shooting.

This is the first day on The Patriot for me.

I'm looking forward to it.

It's been three months since I found out I got this job,

and finally, after three months of sitting around

thinking about it, I get to go out there and do it.

This is it. Blink my eyes, and it'll be out there.

Guys, guys, Heath's here, guys. Everybody look alive.

It was a huge production.

It was a little terrifying to be in another city with no friends,

and you're just sitting there on your own.

It's a lonely life.

Cut!

That's why he took me to most places is that it was us.

We met riding our bikes out in the street,

and we just became best friends. We felt at home together.

You could tell that he wanted to do a good job.

He was still learning.

I'm not going back.

No, I didn't expect you would. That Gates is a damn fool.

He spent too many years in the British army.

Going muzzle to muzzle with Redcoats in open field.

It's madness.

He called me one day from the set, really upset.

He was having a hard time,

and he was struggling, just a crisis of confidence.

He was probably in his head.

He's standing across from his idol acting with Mel Gibson.

For a young Aussie kid, it was a lot.

He would get caught up in the fear of whether or not

he could accomplish what he wanted to do.

He kind of almost pulled out of every movie

he ever ended up doing.

Heath and I had mutual friends, so it was a setup.

We met, and that was it. That was it.

There were always cameras around.

A video camera, or a Polaroid camera, or the film camera.

I was amazed when I saw all of the stuff together

and how many photographs. He was documenting everything.

He was just surrounded by all of those moments he was in,

and then surrounded by them,

but then he'd be capturing the next moment

and the next moment and the next moment.

Didn't stop. It never stopped.

The way he was able to be in the moment

and then capture the moment on the camera,

he just got you in your most authentic self.

He really got me.

I think that's a beautiful thing,

because he's saying through his photographs, "I see you."

The art was more of a need, almost,

to live in the world and then capture the world.

That's the only way I think of him,

with the camera in the hand. That was just Heath.

He was looking, always for something

that was going to be truly challenging

to try to figure out ways

that he could absolutely disappear into a character

and almost be unrecognizable. That's what really drove him.

In his process of picking what film he was gonna

do most of that came from who was directing it.

Shekhar was a director that he always wanted to work with.

He recommended Heath, myself,

we go out in the desert by ourselves,

just the two of us.

Heath stood there, looking down the valley,

and we both just started yelling,

trying to see how far your voice will carry.

It's you and the desert.

You're forced to look at yourself.

The impression you have of yourself

when you look in the mirror is up to you.

You can see whatever you want to see,

and you can be whoever you want to be.

He was really at the start of a journey

that was a lot more focused as an artist.

Since we have to believe it, for us the audience,

to believe what you're putting out there,

you must believe it yourself. We all grew from that film.

He told me that when they wrapped his character,

he stood in the middle of the whole set and collapsed.

Before Brokeback Mountain came out,

it would've been unthinkable to have a romantic tragedy

involving two gay cowboys,

which are the very symbol of American masculinity.

This is one of the biggest heartthrobs on Earth

taking on that character.

That's balls, and that's an artist.

When his name popped up from casting

I did have a little hesitation.

I didn't know at that time if he can carry a movie,

which is what he needed to do.

There was no doubt in his mind he was that person.

If you can find that character in you,

then that's your success. That's golden. That's the magic.

I have no doubt that he could have done

enumerable more extraordinary performances

and given those gifts to the world.

He was seeing the world in a way that the rest of us

didn't and in a way that the rest of us couldn't.

Time and convention meant absolutely nothing to him.

He had this light around him.

Where he went he shone light on people

and made their lives better.

Mini Christmas Pretzels/ Spekulatius-Brezeln 德国蝴蝶甜脆饼 - Duration: 5:02.

I'm a huge fan of Auntie Anne's Pretzels.

Unlike the hard and salty ones we get in Germany, the ones from the US are fluffy and sugary.

They are so addictive, we keep going back just for a quick sugar high every now and then.

You can also find some sweet pretzels in Germany, here is one I like.

Roast 100g of almond flour with no oil on low heat until it's fragrant, then let it cool.

Beat 125g of soft butter, 90g of brown sugar and a pinch of salt until it turns creamy.

Crack one egg, add the egg yolk into the mixture and save the egg white for later.

Beat the mixture until smooth.

For the dry ingredients, mix 100g of all-purpose flour, 3 tsp of Christmas spices,

such as gingerbread, lebkuchen or Spekulatius and our chilled almond flour.

Then knead the dry ingredients with the sugar mixture quickly until combined.

Cover the dough with a plastic foil and let it chill in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Roll the almond mixture to a rectangular shape 21 x 12 cm.

I find it's easier to get the desired shape by rolling the filling in between a plastic foil.

You can also use a dough cutter to straighten the edges.

We are also gonna need one pack of puff pastry sheet about 275g.

They taste fantastic and ready to use.

Fold it in half so we know where is right in the middle.

Brush a thin layer of egg white on the half of our pastry sheet, lay our almond dough on top.

Roll it carefully to cover the whole sheet.

You can also use a layer of plastic foil which helps with shaping.

Brush some more egg white on the almond layer, then fold the other half of the pastry sheet

over and try to cover the almond filling completely.

Wrap the whole thing in a plastic foil and let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 mins.

It will prevent the dough from breaking and create much cleaner and straighter edges.

Roll the dough sheet gently to about 5mm thick, 24cm wide and 40cm long.

We need to cut them to about 8mm wide and 12 cm long strips.

I like to measure it first with a dough cutter then use a pizza cutter to get the perfect shape.

It can be time-consuming, but you are guaranteed to get the best result.

The pizza cutter is one of those useful kitchen gedges you never ever knew you need one until it's too late.

To get the final pretzel shape, we need to twist both ends of the strip and fold them across.

You are gonna get much better after practising a few times.

Dusting both sides of our pretzels with some caster sugar before laying them on a piece

of baking paper side by side in a baking tray.

Set the oven to 190-degree c, bake them on the middle rack for about 10-15 mins until golden and brown.

These mini pretzels are crunchy, flaky and full of Chrismas flavours.

ASMR Eating: Mini Rice Cakes - Turn on Captions - Duration: 21:21.

Hi everyone, got your earphones in or headphones on?

Today, I'm going to eat a bunch of mini rice cakes.

Bam! Microphone!

Here we go with the first bite.

The brown goo is sweetened red bean paste.

It sounds pretty good - this particular rice cake is covered in sesame seeds,

which helps to add texture to the chewing sounds.

I love the availability of ASMR videos on YouTube

but I only get tingles from eating sounds.

And only from slow, deliberate chewing sounds

without slurps or huffing or loud breathing.

Is anyone else out there super particular like me?

It's kinda hard to figure out where to look while eating...

It would be really weird if I were to make eye contact with the camera the whole time...

So I'll just have wandering eyes for the next 20 minutes.

I know I'm chewing super slowly.

I think slow, gentle eating sounds are like yoga,

and the aggressive eating sounds are like crossfit.

They're both great, but we all have different preferences.

Speaking of yoga, I started following along with yoga videos everyday.

Only about 30 minutes per day, which isn't that impressive.

But I found that I sleep better now

and I'm way more flexible at the end of my session than at the beginning.

Sorry about the weird changes in lighting going on here.

I'll do better as I figure out what I'm doing.

What's everyone watching on Netflix nowadays?

I am binge watching Schitt's Creek.

Oh man, that show is hilarious.

I also binge watched all the seasons of the Great British Baking Show on Netflix.

Any fans or bakers with me?

I made a bunch of choux pastry and bread and tried to temper chocolate while watching the show.

It made me wonder how these contestants made ANYTHING in the short amount of time they were given.

It's hard!

I also put on a few pounds because I had to eat my creations.

Well, ok, I didn't HAVE to.

But I had to justify making all those things.

Geez, the rice cakes are small but they're filling me up!

I don't think I want to eat all of them...

Hup, but there I go with the next one.

This one, I like more than the others.

It's covered in black sesame powder.

It's nutty and has a tiny amount of bitterness which helps to cut the sweetness.

Kinda like Oreos - you know?

The cookie's bitterness cuts the sweetness a bit so you can keep stuffing your face with more.

I actually had a conversation with someone the other day about Oreos.

Apparently, Oreos are vegan.

Yup. Now you know.

Someone brought "vegan chicken wings" to a potluck lunch the other week.

I'm told it's made with seitan

which is a bunch of wheat gluten that has a meat like texture.

It was surprising how much it almost felt like not-meat.

I don't know if I could ever go vegetarian,

for sure, I can't go vegan.

I love delicious animals and their products too much.

I admire people who can be vegetarian or vegan.

That takes a lot of self control and education in nutrition.

Especially vegans, I think. To know what foods you can eat, especially when you are out,

and knowing what you need to eat to get the necessary nutrients in your body.

Because if you don't know how to eat as a vegan, it can mess with your hormone balance,

and hormones can really mess with you.

Did you know that honey is not vegan?

It is a product of bees and it exploits them when we harvest honey.

I was floored when I found out that it wasn't considered vegan.

Anyway, enough of that.

Yesterday was the Lunar New Year aka. Chinese New Year

It's the year of the pig.

But not just any old pig, but the GOLDEN PIG.

It only comes once every 600 years!!

People expect it to bring lots of luck and prosperity.

If you believe in that sort of thing.

They say more people get married, or have babies, or buy lottery tickets in the pig years.

My parents in law are hoping for a baby from us in this lucky pig year.

We only have 10 months left of it, so...

I guess we'd better get busy.

Don't you think it's amazing that we can produce another human in just 9 months?

That's not a very long amount of time!

I read that biologically, babies were created to be cute, to decrease the chances of abandoned.

And that they tend to resemble the father early on, to confirm that the baby is his.

Oops, that didn't sound so great. Sorry.

Oh, did you see that one commercial during the Superbowl?

The Michelob Ultra ASMR one?

What did you think about it?

It took ASMR mainstream, they're saying.

They're also saying that commercial is dividing the internet.

I get it, it's not for everyone.

But...geez...everyone take it easy.

I read a comment that said they were never going to touch Michelob products from now on for making them watch that commercial.

Really? I see all sorts of dumb commercials out there and sometimes it's not even clear what they're selling.

Speaking of commercials, does anyone remember the really creepy Quiznos commercials?

Like, super duper creepy.

It may still be going on, who knows.

The ones with the rats with weird accents and buggy eyes.

I think they were playing the guitar and singing.

I just don't know if having scary looking rats in food service commercials is the best way to go.

I have never been to Quiznos, and I'm sure their food is great...

But that commercial is the reason why I haven't eaten there.

I'm really trying to control my breathing...

and to not eat the fur off of the microphone.

Also, I'm getting full.

You know, when you eat slower, you eat less because you feel it when you are full.

Versus when you eat super fast and you don't realize you're full until you've overeaten.

This is cold roasted barley tea.

Clink!

The other half of the rice cake covered in sesame seeds.

Going back to the year of the Golden Pig.

People buy lottery tickets when they have dreams of pigs, because that's considered lucky.

I got a handful of lottery tickets when I was visiting my parents at Christmas.

I started scratching them off with no expectations.

And they were all non-winners...

until I got to the last one...

I won $50!

Turns out, that was a $20 ticket, so if it won $50, it was a profit of $30.

So a couple of days later, I went to cash it in and decided to ride the beginner's luck some more.

I purchased the same kind of ticket that I had won the $50 from for $20.

I figured it was free money I was playing with so even if I lost the $20, it wasn't a big deal.

Then I scratched it off, and I won $20!!

Which means I was back to where I started, with $50 in my hand.

Ohhhhh the temptation to buy another one was so very strong.

But I didn't.

I used to think buying lottery tickets was a silly waste of money.

But you can't win the lottery if you don't buy any tickets, right?

I feel like I had pretty good luck with it at the end of 2018.

So maybe, if I buy one in the year of the Golden Pig, I'll get extra lucky?

I mean...

That's the hype that's going around.

I'm really thinking about it seriously. The only thing holding me back is the addictive quality of lottery tickets.

I don't NEED it.

It's fun now, but it goes from fun to "I just need to win the money back" kind of sadness really quickly, right?

There was a girls' trip to Vegas a few years ago where I played black jack for like 17 hours straight.

I was so upset about the losses, that I didn't want to go home.

My friends put me in a cab and made me go to the airport to catch my flight home.

But I was so obsessed that when they asked for someone to take the flight next morning in exchange for $250, I jumped at it.

Then took a cab right back to the SAME casino.

Drinking gimlets and breathing all the oxygen they were pumping in, and losing more money.

I don't think I ate anything.

Then I crashed once I got on the plane the next morning.

From fatigue and from being sad about not winning back the money I lost.

That wasn't fun. That was SAD.

Oh boy, sorry, this should be a relaxing ASMR video,

Not a testimonial for my gambling past...

Which was about a 30 hour period.

Moving on to better and more relaxing things.

Does anyone meditate?

I suppose taking some time to enjoy ASMR videos is a kind of meditation.

I have a friend who really finds a lot of value in meditation.

I also read that a lot of successful people will take some time to meditate first thing in the morning.

They say during meditation, you want to empty your mind of thoughts.

I've tried.

It is extremely difficult to not think about anything.

Then you stress out because you can't do what sounds like a really simple thing.

Is it because we are all used to being over-stimulated that we can't find relaxation in non-stimulation?

Usually when I watch ASMR videos, I have my earphones in to listen,

and I play Candy Crush or some kind of a relaxing puzzle game where I'm not thinking super hard.

Then I fall asleep within 20 mins.

Or I listen while I'm doing work.

Which weirdly doesn't put me to sleep.

Am I the only one that listens while grocery shopping?

Probably.

I am really full now.

The sweetness is getting to me a bit.

It's not even that sweet compared to cakes or cookies,

but after eating it for a while, I think it just builds and builds in your taste buds,

and now I'm kinda over it.

I probably won't be eating this for a while after this.

A long time ago, on Man vs. Food, which was a show on Food Network,

which I don't think is a show anymore.

I'm pretty sure I heard that the host had some health issues during the show -

- whether the issues were the cause of the show, I don't know,

but I'm sure it didn't help.

It was this guy, maybe his name was Adam?

He would go around the country, taking on food challenges.

You know, the kind where they put your picture on the wall if you eat a 10lbs steak in 2 hours.

Anyway, there was an episode about milkshakes.

I think he had to drink 10 cups of milkshakes without throwing up.

Whatever the quantity was, it was a lot more than a person should take on.

His strategy was, he ordered a plate of french fries to offset the sweet, richness of the milkshakes.

So he would eat some salty fries whenever he felt like he had enough milkshakes.

Then he was ready for more milkshakes.

I can't remember if he succeeded, in that challenge,

but I could really use some piping hot, salty, french fries right now.

McDonald's fries.

Can't beat it. They make them the best.

We don't really eat fast food - when we do, we've been out drinking and we have the Uber driver take us

at 2am. We always offer to get the driver something too.

They always say no. LOL.

Uber and Lyft have really changed the way we go out, right?

I never worry about "How am I gonna get home?" anymore.

The cabs would upcharge like crazy to get home late at night.

But I'm not really going out much anymore.

I love having friends over at our house.

Then I don't even have to go anywhere. Just upstairs to bed.

Oh geez, I'm so full.

I hope everyone had a relaxing time with this video.

If you liked it, please do hit thumbs up.

I'd love to see your comments as well.

Please subscribe if you'd like to see more videos like this.

This is the last one.

It's covered in roasted grain powder. It's really nutty and the powder itself isn't salted or sweetened.

Koreans make a drink with that roasted grain powder.

With milk or water as the base, and sweetened with either sugar or honey, it's pretty tasty.

Thanks for watching my video.

I hope I put some of you to sleep.

Bye bye then. See you next time.
