Honda CR-V – Moose Test

The Honda CR-V had smooth and progressive reactions on all our attempts on the moose test.

On the first one (we still don't know how the car will react) we were supposed to perform at an entrance speed of 77 km/h,

but it was finally done at 76 km/h. Probably, we could have succeeded at not hitting cones if the driver had swerved earlier when getting into the third cone lane.

Anyway, the highest speed at which we completed a clean attempt was 75 km/h,

but according to the good response of the steering and the suspension, we have the feeling that it would have been possible to succeed at a higher entrance speed.

We could not, however. On every attempt that we did over 75 km/h, we always hit at least one cone, but the car always felt safe, predictable and smooth.

We had the feeling that more grip on the front tires would have allowed quicker changes of direction and would have prevented the understeer effect that can be seen on the footage.

Slalom

The CR-V is nimble on the slalom. It is not outstanding, but the body roll is small and the capability to make changes direction according to the inputs of the driver is good for the attributes of a car such as this.
