I've been asked

At least 10 times

How to install this

Ecumaster

Digital Ecu Tuner

Det3+

Model

I will show you

The basic installation

I have the Ecumaster

In engine bay

Here

Here you can see it

All right

The reason is

I had ignition problems with

Longer wiring

These wires

I moved it to engine bay

There was too much interference

The ignition started misfiring

With warm engine for some reason

Okay, let's take a closer look

So

There is..

Kind of

Cold weather

Not optimal

For this but

It doesn't matter

So first there's

Power +12v (pin1) and ground - (pin11)

Wires

Those goes

Here

Here's the ground wire

And here

In fuse box is power wire (ignition on)

Then there is

Ignition with shielded wires

Here, these goes to

Crackshaft position sensor (VR type, blue or red wire)

So

Ignition in (pin9) and ignition out (pin5)

In and out of Ecumaster

So there was the ignition

Then

To map sensor, these two

These are

Analog in (pin13) and analog out (pin17) (wire has to be cut between those)

Next

There is

USB cable going inside the car

And then

There is

Built in

Map sensor in Ecumaster

This hose

Goes there

It's that simple

Indeed

This

Crackshaft position sensor

Correct wire colour is blue or red

I had blue, some have red

It depends

And this

Map sensor

As you can see

Correct

Wire is the furthest one

Brown color

Furthest one

Light brown

Installation is so simple

It will be much harder with

Fuel implant mode

But it works great without

Next I will show you

How to

Use it

After installation

Of Ecumaster Det3+

There is

Pins for 20 wires

But used only

Few

There's much

Fancy things you can use

But I don't need them now

Okay

I will show you next

What to do with

Tablet

Okay, first we connect the usb

And open the DET3 Client

This one

Okay

Now it should look like this when opened

But not necessarily

If your settings

Aren't right

Let's continue, there's scope on tools menu

There you can see if you have problems

With ignition

You can test it out here

But we have everything working as you can see

Syncronised

Here

Ignition is working, connected and

Syncronised

So everything working

Okay

Car is idling with normal temperature

Air/fuel ratio is there when idling

I will fix it first

I select the whole fuel map

ECU's auto mixture adjustment

Is so powerful

So

I can adjust the non boost map

Based on idle air/fuel ratio

So I selected the whole map

And I press minus to lean the mixture

Like this

Let's check what happens

I'm pressing the minus button

Minus

Minus

More minus

Okay, mixture

Is good now

When idling

It's okay now, I wanted to correct it

First

So it idles properly

Okay, let's take a closer look

Setup menu

So

Setup tables, we have analog 1 and analog 2

Ecumaster modifies Analog 1 signal

That's my cars

Map sensor

Load

Is Ecumasters built in map sensor

You saw the boost hose

That's all we need, we use that fuel table

Ok, let's see what's next

Okay

Analog inputs configuration

You have to decide

The max values

Here's what I have

This Analog 1 is premade

In Scales configuration

This was the nearest one to my original sensor

Mixture adjustment works nicely

With this

Premade map configuration

Analog 2 is

Ecumasters built in map sensor

1 is original map

Okay

Next

Analog output configuration, this is

what

Ecumaster

After modification

Sends to ECU

From 0v to

4.94V

I had problem with 5v

It made

Error code

So I had to limit the voltage

And maybe I even broke one map sensor because of that

Okay

(Forgot to show scales configuration)

Is there anything else, yes Ignition configuration

Very important

So you must have right mode selected

Mine is 60

-2

There's 58 toothed wheel

In mine

On crankshaft

Wheel

This is the right one for me

Crackshaft position sensor type is VR

This all must be corrent to get the ignition working

Maximum rpm on fuel map

7000rpm and here's how much you can adjust

Ignition

Okay

Nothing special

Is there anything else

Okay, that's all

Next I will adjust the mixture

Idle is already adjusted

idles much better than before

With 50% bigger injectors

I have to adjust the whole fuel map leaner

Or the car will choke

Not drivable

Now for test drive

here you can see

the specific cell moving

Okay

Next test drive and

We will see how much I need to modify the fuel table

Only

A short trip

For drivable fuel map

So here it was

We will continue shortly

Okay I made

Some corrections

Drived

About 20km

Now it looks like this (AFR no boost 14.5-15, with boost 12-12.5)

Now it's drivable

So next

Idle is

Good

ECU made some corrections

Okay

Then

File

Make maps permanent

Okay

No need to

Turn

The engine off

It's only recommendation

Okay all good, saved

It's done

That's it

Car is drivable

And the fuel map looks like that

You can minimize

The correction

Level

This how

You drive

Without first lambda

Now you have solid lambda value

So you can adjust the non boost area

Much better

Where I have -30

You can adjust it closer to what ECU wants to see

ECU adjusts the mixture

To 14.7

So you can adjust this area

Closer what ECU wants to see

When you disconnect the first lambda

First warm up the engine

Then disconnect the first lambda

Next adjust the air/fuel ratio

And the fluctuation minimizes

Another thing

Reset the ECU, it also helps

ECU decides the tolerances

For current setup

It also helps a lot

With the fluctuation

It finds closer tolerances

Okay

This is the Ecumaster Det3+

Very good

For my use

You can see that I have a bit too large injectors

Whole fuel map on minus

There might be some +

A bit more boost in here

With high revs

About there

On minus side elsewhere

So I could get away with smaller fuel injectors

Current injectors are from Ford KA

Small turbo engine

Should be enough for 150hp

Okay

That's enough

For today
