Hello dear We Drive friends, and welcome to a new video!

Some weeks ago we talked about the most interesting upcoming new cars of 2019

I don't remember if it was me, Bart or Giuseppe to chose this

But today we're already able to show it to you

I'm talking about this new Kia ProCeed, which debuted back in 2018 at the Paris Motor Show

Today we're here at the Kia Euromotor Bari dealership

Where they kindly gave us the opportunity to show it to you in a full walkaround

This one is a very interesting car

Is the shooting brake of the famous Ceed

Which also has a normal SW version, different from this one

And now we'll see it together, but before that

Apart from the side design, which we'll see in a minute, a very eye-catching part of this car

Is the front, with the famous Kia Tiger Nose grille, we saw it on other Kia models in the past

In gloss black, framed in grey

Gloss black in the lower part of the grille and on the front-side air vents

The headlights have an interesting design

LED headlights, similar to the ones on the Ceed

Which develop from the front all the way to the side, with this final piece of design

In the side, we can notice the 18'' black and grey alloy wheels

But let's be honest, the most important piece of design, here

Is the typical shooting brake design line itself

Which starts from the front pillar, with gloss black side view mirrors

Has a grey frame for the windows that goes all the way to the back doors

Where we meet a shark fin-like element

There's gloss black in the side skirts, too

And going to the back, we have a softly leaning roof line, typical of shooting brake cars

There's a white-gloss black spoiler

The back part of the roof make this car look very aerodynamic

The back end of the car honestly reminds us of more expensive European shooting brakes

And then there are the tail lights, another European reference, with the Kia family feeling

With a LED stripe that links them

And then the lower part, with the fake grey exhaust tips and the whole part made in gloss black

Before going inside

Let's take a look at the boot

Ok I made it

It has electronic opening and closing

This boot has 594 litres of capacity

Here's the cover

There's no spare wheel here, just different storage boxes to put the tire inflating kit and other accessories

As I said, it has electronic closing

And like the keyless opening of the doors

I think there's the keyless opening of the boot

The Kia guys come from the future

Many manufacturers offer the option to open the boot by sliding your foot under the back bumper

I think this one has even the keyless option

There are sensors that detect there's the car key nearby

And electronically open the boot, I don't know how exactly this works

Now it's time to take a look inside the ProCeed

Wow, amazing, I didn't touch with my head

This is a nice point to this Korean shooting brake

Before I set my driving position so now the seat is automatically adjusting to it

I was saying, the fact I didn't touch with my head is good because this car has a very low roof line

Let me tell you the dimensions of this ProCeed

4.60m long

1.42m high, 4cm lower than the normal Ceed SW

And 1.80m wide, I'm sorry for my cough

Even if this is a very compact car, I think these dimensions are pretty useful inside

And when inside, I'm welcomed by interior very similar to the ones in a car we previously drove with Kia Euromotor

We made a test drive with the big sports saloon by Kia, the Stinger GT Line

We also made a video with the 370HP Stinger GT, a real monster

So it has the typical, very functional Kia style inside, and in my opinion this is a very good thing

First of all the steering wheel, flat bottom and GT Line badge

In case you didn't notice how sporty it looks from the outside, with gloss black and everything, is a GT Line

So flat bottom, leather and aluminum-like surfaces

Aluminum ergonomic gearbox paddles behind the steering wheel

And various buttons for connectivity, phone

And also driving assistance systems, adaptive cruise control, speed limiter and so on

With the paddles you can control the DCT 7-Speed automatic gearbox, double clutch

But a 6-speed manual gearbox is available, too

Behind the steering wheel there's the dash with the dials, dedicated to the driver

The round dial on the left is for the rev counter and the water temperature

The one on the right with the odometer with bottom line at 240 kph, and fuel gauge

And then the TFT screen in the middle

This very ProCeed has a Turbo diesel engine, 1.6, 136 HP

There are also petrol engines

From 140 HP to a very interesting GT version with 204 HP

I hope we can make a test drive with the 204 HP one, just imagine how amazing would be a car like that!

I find myself very comfortable and wrapped in the driver's seat

It has electronic adjustment but also nice design with black stitchings

And white leather frame-zones with the GT Line logo in black

Here in the middle there are buttons for the A/C

The central tunnel with grey and gloss black, has parking sensors button, Sport Mode and gear lever

And then, in the middle here, there's the 8'' infotainment screen

Let's see it

First of all Kia logo

I won't focus on the infotainment of the ProCeed, maybe in the future Bart will do it

Let's see the pages, car settings, navigation

Latest generation connectivity systems such as Android Auto and Apple Car Play

Radio, phone, vehicle settings

Let's take a look at the map of the navigation

Ok...we have to wait for it to load

Ok, perfect, here it is

The touch screen feedback is good

But let's not focus too much on the infotainment system

Here's a storage box under the armrest

And then two cupholders

Then the car has a very nice sunroof...

Ok the screen is exhausting the car's battery, let me turn it off

But no! I'm actually turning this whole system on, little off-air moment

Thanks for the jingle

I hope the upcoming test won't be hard for the ProCeed, we'll see the space in the back seats

I'm 1.80m tall, I'll leave this seat in my driving position so I can show you the real leg space of this shooting brake

Ok so

I had to put down my head while getting inside, but it should be normal for a shooting brake

Sadly, having left the front seat in my position, the leg space...

...I don't have any, my legs completely touch the driver's seat

Maybe it's normal for a tall guy like me in a low car like this

Positive note: I have plenty of head-room, even if the roof here already starts to lean towards the boot

So, with no offense at all, if we're going to travel with this car, Enzo will be the driver in front

The overall seats comfort is pretty good

I think a third person would easily sit here in the middle of the back seats

Maybe he won't bee too comfy because of the compact dimensions of this car

But travelling wouldn't be impossible thanks to the low line of the central tunnel on the floor

Down here there are two air vents for the passengers in the back

The seats are very good looking in the back, too

With white leather and black stitchings, like in the front

A thing I missed to mention, in the future will come mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of this car

So Kia is representing a future we all thought possible to be made by more expensive European makers

Talking about prices

The ProCeed starts at 29k Euros, this very one, 1.6 Diesel GT Line with 136 HP is about 31.250 Euros

So not expensive at all considering what this car offers

The car we're introducing to you today is Kia Teluride.

Kia Motors unveiled the price of its large North American SUV "Telluride" last month through the Detroit Motor Show.

Teluride prices start at $31,690.

Top trims start at $41,490

The Teluride was designed at the Kia American Design Center and is a North American-only model produced by Kia's U.S. manufacturing plant in Georgia.

Kia Motors is planning to start selling in the U.S. in the first half of this year.

With a large body size of 5000mm, width 1990mm, electric charge 1750mm, and wheelbase of 2900mm, you can select up to eight people.

It features a 3.8 liter V6 petrol engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission with a maximum power of 295 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36.2 kg.m.

The telluride is divided into four trims: LX, S, EX and SX.

The best trim, SX features LED headlights and fog lights, Dual Sunroof, Harmancadon stereo audio, 360 degree surround view, Ambient light, 7-inch digital display.

Options include a Napa leather package, head up display, hot steering wheel, second row heat and ventilation seat.

Driven: 2019 Kia Niro EV Combines Practicality With 239 Miles Of Range - Duration: 11:50.

Not that long ago, customers looking for an affordable electric vehicle had basically one option: the Nissan Leaf.Since then, the segment has grown to include competitors such as the Chevrolet Bolt, Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Soul EV

The latest arrival also comes from Kia and it's the 2019 Niro EV.Billed as a fun and affordable electric crossover, it is the third member of the Niro family which also includes the standard hybrid and plug-in hybrid variant

We recently traveled to California to test out the car and came away pretty impressed.While the electric variant is new for 2019, the Niro has been around for a couple of years

As a result, its styling is instantly recognizable.That being said, the Niro EV is distinguished by a handful of unique styling touches

Starting up front, the model has a sporty fascia with a fully enclosed grille as there's no internal combustion engine to cool

Further below are distinctive "Arrowhead" LED daytime running lights and blue accents.Additional changes include new rocker panels, a revised rear bumper and aerodynamically optimized 17-inch alloy wheels

The unique styling continues in the cabin, where there are a handful of items that are exclusive to the Niro EV, like a rotary shifter, a custom center console and "Eco Electric" badging.Customers will also find two-tone upholstery and special trim.The Niro EV will be available in two trim levels

The entry-level EX comes nicely equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an automatic climate control system and a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility

Other highlights include cloth / artificial leather upholstery and a 7-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster.Rounding out the highlights are power windows / locks, a split-folding rear seat and a four-speaker audio system

Despite its entry-level status, the Niro EV EX comes with an assortment of driver assistance systems.These include blind spot collision warning, rear cross traffic collision warning, lane keep assist, lane following assist and a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines

Drivers will also find forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist and smart cruise control with stop and go

We drove the range-topping EX Premium which adds additional luxury features such as heated / ventilated front seats, a power sunroof and a 10-way power driver's seat

The model also boasts a wireless smartphone charger, Niro-branded scuff plates and LED interior lighting

On the tech front, there's an 8-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation as well as an 8-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with a subwoofer

In the top of the line spec, the Niro EV is a comfortable cruiser that provides plenty of room for up to four adults

Both front seats are comfortable and spacious with supportive bolstering.The front seats also offer plenty of head and legroom, even in the EX Premium that has a standard sunroof

The rear seats aren't quite as comfortable, but they still offer a decent amount of head- and legroom – providing front passengers play ball

Speaking of the back, the Niro EV has a generous cargo compartment which can hold up to 53.0cubic feet (1,500 liters) of luggage with the rear seats folded.On the downside, some materials aren't exactly top notch

Most of the plastics are of a decent quality, but they don't match the levels of Toyota and Honda products.This can best be seen in the sun visors which are constructed out of incredibly cheap and hard plastic

And while the sun visors are a minor grip, the infotainment system isn't.While it works fine, the design of the system and its graphics feel a bit dated

This shouldn't be too surprising as the Niro itself is a few years old.Despite these small issues, the cabin is a nice place to spend some time

The Niro features an excellent leather-wrapped steering wheel with perfectly placed thumb indentations.The overall design of the cabin is also eye pleasing and the unique shifter is relatively intuitive after a while

An Electric Powertrain With 239 Miles Of Range Despite being billed a crossover, the Niro EV is available exclusively with a 201 hp (150 kW / 203 PS) electric motor that powers the front wheels only

While this won't appease fans looking for an all-wheel drive SUV, the motor does produce a healthy 291 lb-ft (395 Nm) of torque

The electric motor is feed by a sizeable, 64 kWh lithium-ion battery that weighs 1,008 lbs (457 kg).This setup enables the model to travel approximately 239 miles (384 km) on a single charge

Kia's particularly proud of the Niro's range and said it should be enough to last most owners three to four days without needing a recharge

That will depend on your usage and people like myself, who are mostly telecommuting, could probably manage a week or more

When it does come time to recharge the Niro, owners will be happy that designers installed the charging port in the grille where it is easy to access

That's a good design decision, but Kia estimates the recharging process will take an incredible 59 hours with Level 1 charger and a 120 volt outlet

That's nearly two and a half days, and is probably due to the high capacity battery, but in practice this method will be used only as a last resort

Instead, most owners will likely use a 7.2kW Level 2 DC fast charger that reduces the time to 9 hours and 35 minutes

Owners needing a faster option can use a more powerful DC fast charger rated at 50 kW or 100 kW, with which the Niro EV can get an 80% charge in as little as one hour

In terms of performance, the all-electric Niro can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of nearly 104 mph (167 km/h).While those numbers doesn't sound that impressive, the car is pretty nimble and fast for something that weighs a rather hefty 3,854 lbs (1,748 kg)

While we don't necessarily view the Niro EV as a crossover, this plays dividends in terms of dynamics, where it offers a comfortable ride and handling more on par with a normal hatchback

This means drivers can expect a tight turning circle, good road handling and the ability to dart in and out of traffic

Throwing the Niro into a curve at speed is a surprisingly rewarding experience and the instant torque of the electric motor belies its somewhat less than impressive 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time

The brakes are also pretty good, but we didn't have a chance to really put them to the test during our journey in and around Santa Cruz.The steering has a natural feel and the lane keep assist systems works well on the highway

Given the electric powertrain, the model is also pretty quiet on smooth roads.It's actually so quiet that Kia installed a pedestrian warning system which uses a speaker behind the front bumper to produce a "fantastic techy whirring noise" when the car is being driven at low speeds

It's a non-offense noise that can barely be heard in the cabin unless you're really looking for it.While the Niro EV has a lot going for it, only a handful of customers will actually be able to purchase one

Kia plans to offer to the model in just 12 states, namely California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington

The automaker will monitor demand in other states, but there are currently no plans to offer the Niro EV nationwide as it is "capacity constrained

"That's a bit disappointing, but the 12 aforementioned states would probably be responsible for the vast majority of sales anyways

Kia wasn't ready to talk about pricing, but confirmed the Niro EV will go on sale in the United States in mid- to late February

We can expect detailed pricing to be announced ahead of launch, but they hinted that it will be priced similarly to the Hyundai Kona Electric which starts at $36,450 before the federal tax credit of $7,500 and any state or local incentives

The Niro EV enters an increasingly competitive segment, but offers a good combination of comfort, technology and space

Throw in good driving dynamics and an impressive range of 239 miles (384 km), and it's clear drivers looking for an affordable electric vehicle should definitely consider Kia's latest offering

While it is definitely worth your consideration, drivers should also check out the Hyundai Kona Electric and the 2020 Kia Soul EV

All three models share a similar powertrain, but the Kona is bit newer and offers a slightly longer range.The Soul is all new, but its range is still unconfirmed.At the end of the day, more choice is good news for consumers

With three electric vehicles, Hyundai and Kia are positioning themselves as leaders in this particular segment and it will be interesting to see if they can hold that position given the onslaught on EVs coming from the likes of General Motors and Volkswagen
