Good morning, Good morning!
- George! - Hello my friend!
- I am here! I made it!
- How are you my friend? -What's going on?
- I brought it here with too many problems!
I am in Moschato, at X-power, this is the place I made the service 2 years ago,
and I am very happy about the work that was done back then, so I brought the bike once more,
and we are going to check EVERYTHING on the Transalp.
The bike is already inside and today I am going to start to strip it down....
We put the bike on the ramp and first thing we need to remove completely the water pump,
because I managed to cut one of the screw-heads while trying to empty the water...
because I was in a harry apparently..
The swing arm is down...
This is moving a lot huh...
What do you think George?
We going to check everything , no worries.
From the first look it looks like it has some wobble on it.
I think is normal after all these kilometres.
This is the fender of the rear wheel which it was broken and I managed to fix it with some glue,
but now it got broken again... This part costs 100 euro...
These things cost 1 euro
It's perfect!
I only need to cut the edges of the Tie-wraps and I am done.
I thing we don't need to remove them.
Last time we removed one of them so we could have more space.
Just remove the bolts, but don't remove any pipes and we see how it goes.
- Take this bolt. - This is the box for the radiator parts.
I just removed the regulator - rectifier and I found out that everything is burned... all the plugs are gone.
This is the most sensitive part of Honda...
I could see that there was a small problem because it was not charging the battery as it should.
I could see it on the voltage meter I have installed on the bike.
So I have to remove all those plugs and put new ones.
So we need to order those parts as well.
We are cleaning the throttle body and it's unbelievable how dirty it is.. there are some pieces coming out of it.
All these are only what we got out of the throttle body.
We need to have the sense that its passing a bit difficult.
Here we have a closed valve and the no15 filler is not even going through.
Maybe it's gone down to 10..
We really need to adjust this one. This is perfect.
So on the front cylinder we need to adjust only one of the valves. The exhaust valves are good as well...
The exhaust valves are both perfect.
We are trying with no20 filler and it's really tight.
if we try no 15 it's really loose.
Your exhaust valves are perfect, and on the intake valves we need only to adjust one of two.
So we need to turn the engine to adjust the rear cylinder valves.
We are looking for a mark that says "RT"
So the chain that was loose is now tensioned again. check it to see how it is.
isn't it too tight now?
No that's how it's supposed to be, check the front one to see that now they are on the same tension.
Your tensioner was stuck... on the rear cylinder.
This is something that might happen again I assume.
It may happen... but don't worry.. it's not something that should scare you.
It was stuck... I put some good amount of strength to unstuck it.
So we should put anything on it for lubrication?
No... that is lubricated from the engine oil.
So we lubricated all the cables and we removed the throttle and lubricated the throttle as well.
I removed the clutch cable, which I will have to change it since it's very close to break.
and let's put it back together.
I had to buy all the parts for the rear calliper, because in it came loose when I was going in Ancona,
and all the parts got scattered on the way there.
I am going to change the wheel rubber bushes as well
These are the original bushes and they have 175000km on them.
So we are installing some brand new bushes.
So all the basic and important jobs of the service are done...
Oil and oil filter change, spark plugs,
we also found the problem that made the engine sound strange which was the tensioner of the rear cylinder.
What else? We serviced the front suspension...
It's time to check the rear brake that gave me a lot of trouble during this last part of the trip,
so we removed and took apart the rear master cylinder and we found out that the piston inside was cracked.
that means it was building some pressure through the crack and that's why the calliper was braking all the time.
So we need to fix that as well and I thing we are almost done with the service.
So, here we are again.
we have 3 regulator - rectifiers and too many cables and nothing works, so we need to find the electric problem.
Mr. Manos, the electrician is here today to help us out with this situation
because the bike is not charging and it has to charge before I take it out of the shop.
So this is the last loading of the bike... Just getting ready to leave Athens, to go to Cyprus.
The unloading will be in Cyprus after this.
This is the last guy I say goodbye... Stratos!
To the rest of the guys I said my goodbyes at home.
I was not ready for video and I am a bit excited.
I had a drop from the bike! Adventure until the last day...
I am not hurt because it was very slippery. I just skied on my ass, but the bike suffers a bit.
