there's a new BMW 8 Series!

and how cool does it look?!

This M850i

like in all new BMW's

we have launch control

well, not every new BMW

the 520i recently didn't have it

anyway

launch control

that is 0-100 in 3.7 seconds

because we have a 4.4 V8

with 2 turbos

530 HP

so more HP than a M550i

and we have xDrive 4WD

which is very aggressive

resulting in a 3.7s 0-100 km/h

it always gets the power down

when you turn off ESP

the 4WD changes too

if you push the car

and ask more from it

the distribution of power changes

it becomes more RWD

you can get some nice slides to

the setup is really similar to the M5

in 4WD sport mode

the M5 has 3 settings

4WD, 4WD sport and RWD

the 4WD sport

means most of the power

goes to the rear

and the front wheels help

to keep it tidy

what they really nailed

it makes sure it's not boring

some nice bangs from the exhaust

it's usable

and still fun

it really combines both

the benefits of 4WD

always grip, in all circumstances

but the benefits of RWD

fun, sliding around

you can get it all in this car

and it looks incredible too

especially in this color

sunset orange

and this has the carbon exterior pack

which means a carbon diffuser

carbon parts in the front bumper

carbon rear spoiler

more stuff like the mirrors

it all looks so good

the car looks really aggressive

and this is 'only' the M850i

'only' M-performance

there will be an M8

and an M8 competition

which begs the question

how is it

that even more crazy versions are coming

we've tested this car all day

did some 100-200 measurements

8.5 seconds

which is quicker than a Lambo Urus

with 650 HP

and around the same

as the new Continental GT

with a 630 HP W12

it's insane how quick this is

and 2 more powerful versions are coming

I think it's insane

the M850i has a sport exhaust too

which gives it a great sound

this car sounds better than an M5

it doesn't need to sound

like a race car

which they're still trying with the M5

this is more lazy

and more traditional V8

with a burble and a bark

I think sometimes this is better than an M5

and that says a lot

If you ask me

this new M850i is the new flagship

if I look at it, experience it

it has the same feeling

as the M760Li with that V12

like you'll never need more

which is a great feeling

especially if you pay almost €200K

but look at it this way

this one costs €194K

a lot of money

but has most of the qualities

of a Bentley Continental GT

which costs €300K

so it's a bargain

BMW Individual M850i Coupe Flaunts Carbon Fiber Bits And Pieces - Duration: 1:52.

If money is no object and you're on the hunt for the ultimate 8-Series, getting an M850i xDrive in Individual spec is pretty much the best you can hope for, at least for the time being

This particular one was recently commissioned through BMW Abu Dhabi, and as you can see, it features a dark exterior with exposed carbon fiber bits, plus a dual-tone BMW Individual interior

The 8-Series is built using the automaker's Carbon Core technology, meaning it has carbon fiber integrated into its chassis

In this particular example, exposed parts include the front bumper (bits of it at least), roof and the rear diffuser

It even says 'Carbon Core' on the door sill plates, along with BMW Individual.Once the doors are open, you gain access to a red and black leather interior, with white contrast stitching on the seats, center console, door panels and upper dashboard, above the instrument cluster

While we can only assume that the car is fully loaded, we can tell you for sure that it's equipped with a Harman/Kardon premium sound system and stainless steel fabric trim

As for what makes the M850i xDrive tick, that would be its 523 HP (530 PS) and 553 lb-ft (748 Nm) 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8, which can take you from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds, an almost supercar-worthy achievement.
