BMW Business CD Radio advanced settings - Duration: 2:06.

Hey, today we are in BMW with the Business CD radio system

and I'm going to show you some advanced settings that you can find in this radio unit.

Ofcourse those options are described in the User Manual but if you don't have one or you don't

want to go though it I'll just quickly show you how to use them and what are those functions

for.

So fist of all lets turn on the radio.

Turn the volume down.

Let's got to AUX so we are not disturbed.

And right now I will show you how to enter the settings.

Ofcourse you know that if you press the note over here you can adjust you low and high

tones, your fader, balance and other stuff.

But if you press and hold this button you can access other settings like the TP Volume.

This setting is designed for people who are using the Traffic Program announcement.

If you are using those, your radio will go automatically to the frequency that is broadcastings

traffic program.

And over here you can select how the volume should behave.

You can increase the volume if traffic program is at the moment broadcasted.

So next thing is the gong.

You can adjust the gong volume.

This gong is played if you don't have you seat belts on or if your have door opened

and you are trying to move your car.

You all know that gong.

Next is the PDC.

This is park distance control.

You can adjust how loud should this be.

So let's keep it in the middle.

Next is the speed volume and this increases your volume with speed.

So this is, I believe, self-explanatory.

The faster you go, the louder your radio unit gets.

And at the end you have the reset so you can go to default settings.

And that's it.

Why Do BMW Depreciate So Much? - Duration: 9:38.

so you're in the market for a used BMW but you wonder why these cars depreciate

so fast I'm going to explain it to you now welcome back to the channel I'm your

buddy mark with exotic car play place and today so we talked about BMWs and a

lot of other premium German brands and we wonder why we see a lot of cars like

this going on the used car market for supremely cheap dollars and you have to

ask yourself why is the depreciation so aggressive on those cars look at the BMW

world when I peruse the autotrader.com site it doesn't take long to find tens

of thousands of used BMWs on the market for sale any given day and a lot of that

has to do with several things one of them being of course there's just such a

supply and not enough demand there aren't enough people buying these cars

so you have to present good quality well-maintained cars to begin with just

to be competitive the other factor is over 50% of the BMWs and Mercedes Audi's

are leased more than 50 percent so after three years of lease when the lease is

up ultimately wind up with an owner who decides to sell the car off get rid of

it let it go because they realize after lease is up and after warranty's expired

they often might be faced with a lot of reliability issues replacement parts and

maintenance associated with a hundred and fifty thousand dollar car to be in

line and commensurate of that type of car you would expect a large dollar

amount to buy a part why well part of it because they're built in lower

production part of it because a lot of these parts are shipped from Germany

that costs you money yeah maybe it's just a mirror maybe it's just an oil

filter but those parts often are shipped overseas via boat plane whatever it is

that cost money the shipping cost money sure some of those parts are higher

quality but unfortunately it's the shipping that kills you there the other

thing is did you realize statistically 35% is law

on depreciation on your average used car or new to used car

well German cars are tend to be a little higher because it's a luxury item and

because it's a luxury item it's not unbasic necessity of life and as such a

hundred and fifty thousand dollar car is going to lose more than thirty five

percent on average then a twenty thousand dollar Honda so they talk about

percentage depreciation sure the Honda comes out looking rosy but in reality

it's the initial cost of that car when it was purchased and sold new another

reason why these BMWs depreciate so hard is because the cost the cost associated

with all this maintenance in parts isn't just because of the parts it's because

of the specialists the technicians have you ever been to a local BMW dealership

lately have you not noticed those gentlemen walking around in white lab

coats and their four booklets and they walk along like a scientist there's a

personification that they have to present a professional image but it's

goes more than just presentation of that image a lot of these technicians have to

go to BMW school or Audi school or Benz school because it goes way beyond normal

typical mechanical knowledge of your typical Ford or even your basic Honda's

or your Chevrolet's or any of those types of brands are often a lot less

complex these German cars particularly BMW are very very complex cars because

they're so complex these technicians not only have to get the basic fundamental

training that most pop Prentis mechanics go through and learn the basics these

fine folks have to go through special training to learn how to deal with a lot

of the extensive complexities that you'll find associated with these BMW

cars and so ultimately the expensive costs for parts because shipping

overseas the additional training for the technicians that all gets handed down to

the consumer initial price of purchase goes up and of course people become a

little skeptical because they know the complexity of these cars are so intense

they become afraid to purchase these cars

as a result a lot of these cars stay in the market people don't buy them and a

lot of times gravitate to simpler cars cars you know from the Toyotas and the

Honda's and they'll even the Lexus as a premium brand is still a simpler car

even though they have a lot of electronics in them these days are not

the same level of complexity that you'll find in the BMWs or any other German

brand for that matter now you have to remember the Germans are just a strong

engineering culture and so a lot of these cars particularly BMWs are created

built engineered by people that aren't satisfied with a basic nut and bolt you

have to find waste for that nut and bolt to work even better so they have to

re-engineer and then when they're done reengineering it then they over engineer

it so with a belief that you know we'll build it even better stronger faster

sometimes unfortunately they neglect the reliability of it they look at the

function the form follows function a lot of times with the German cars like the

BMWs and therefore they get them a lot more focused and zoned in on the way

these parts work together how its engineered the performance the sound and

how it's all pieced in one nice marvelous package

unfortunately they sort of at times forget about the Rd and at times forget

about some of the simplistic parts of being reliable after all think about

where BMW came from and a lot of the technology now you see in everyday

humdrum mundane cars like you'll find in you know generic little cars that cost

twenty thousand dollars a lot of that technology like the displays and the

touchscreens and a lot of these additional safety features like airbags

you know 20 different airbags in a car and Lane Assist and pedestrian warning

systems where do you think a lot of that came from how about airbags a lot of

that came from German engineering which ultimately then over a few generations

trickled into the mainstream and of course all the other brands picked up on

that so it's all of this injection of engineering and being ahead and

state-of-the-art pause money that money that Rd goes into complexities

complexities that aren't always worked out

they're not always perfect when they come out in the first and second third

generations look at the iDrive system in the BMWs the first early generations

were sloppy they were intense and you needed a rocket scientist to navigate

through that system so of course those complexities aren't always perfect and

when they fail and they do often it gets very very expensive so as a result

there's track records people recognize that they get shy they don't want to buy

those cars therefore a lot of those cars stay on the market the used cars that

coupled with the fact that tons and tons of lease returns come back in the tens

of thousands yearly flood the market three four or five year old cars

flooding the market on top of the older cars that are been sitting there for

quite some time that all contributes to the strong depreciation after all people

again they get feared for expensive maintenance which isn't that far from

the truth are they unreliable well there's a lot of reliable BMWs that

don't cost a lot of money to own and operate I have some I've owned some

myself but unfortunately there are some very complex BMWs that have a bad

reputation for extremely expensive maintenance and poor reliability coupled

together which created just massive fear by the consumer and so that reputation

precedes itself and unfortunately spills over to a vast majority of the lineup

and as a result prices go down and sumers run away and of course used cars

have to go down in price you want to sell your car you want to exchange hands

you want to buy a new car you're trying to sell your used BMW you have to make

it palatable for the next buyer good service records

low mileage premium cars are often bought or a very good deal because of

the fear and the expensive repairs associated with these BMWs so everybody

I really hope I shed some light for you there BMWs great brand some phenomenal

values there in the used car market they represent some of the best cars out

there for the bang for the buck so do Benz and some outies as well but know

that you've got to do your shopping you have to buy car that's going to be

reliable for you and you make sure you get good values everybody

I figured that a cop was following me

Hi everyone! I'm again with you guys with a new vlog

I'm laughing a lot right now

Something happened a while ago

I was speaking with Ercan

The one that you know famous Ercan

He sent me a video of him being pulled over by a cop and arguing with him

As soon as I saw the video, I told him that we HAVE TO upload this to my channel

because people are very curious about things like this

you have asked about this in the comments before

what happens when a cop pulls you over?

in what situations, what the cops do?

I have shared a video before named "I got caught by the police while racing"

I barely got away from that

but some people said that I was exaggerating

You will now understand in this video what could've happened that day

Hello everyone! I am Ercan Genis and this is my brother Inanc

Hello!

Batikan told you guys about me in some of his videos

I am also trying to help him as much as I can

I am living in California with my brother in the Silicon Valley area

I work for Apple

Also I work on BMWs just because I love doing it

I do only software and electronic related things

Sometimes we do mechanical work ONLY on our own cars

My brother brought me here as a student around 4 years ago

After coming here as a student, the car love that we have in our blood

pushed us over to the car scene as it's always been

but especially to BMWs

while studying, I started buying and selling cars

I bought cars and we fixed them with my bro together

and then I sold these cars for small benefit

and this is how we got into the car stuff

Inanc : Let's talk about your 135i Ercan : Yes I used to have 135i

2008 135i

I bought this car and I loved it!

I had to swap the engine because of a chronic issue

It leaks oil from the oil filter housing onto serpentine belt

when the oil leaks onto the belt, the belt gets shredded and goes into engine through the crank seal

From there it goes to the timing chain and oil pump

the engine was gone and I swapped it

while in there, I started adding the mods

I put in a catless downpipe

I put in a bigger intercooler

Charge pipe, Blow Off Valve

Air intakes, Oil Catch Can

and then we did stage 2+ tune

and we had stage 2 fuel pump

I have driven the car with E40 and E50 fuel mixes but sometimes I also ran it with Full E85

It was a great machine , it was quick and fast

so, what happened was, I dropped of this guy to the airport in San Francisco

On the way back to home, while I was driving on the very left lane

There was a Porsche 911 I believe it was the Turbo model If I remember right

Dude was driving very slow on the left lane

He was driving around 60Mph :)

I wanted to pass him

he didn't let me

I tried to pass by the other side but he didn't let me do that either

I was following him slowly

finally I did a quick maneuver and passed him

I pushed the gas and took off pretty quick

I mean the car was very quick on how it was accelerating

I am not saying this because it was my car :)

Anyways, it was really quick acceleration for me

I took off pretty fast

I didn't wanna slow down after taking off that nice :)

When the cop turned on his siren, I then realized that a cop was following me

When a cop turns on their lights/siren, you need to pull over

He pulled me over

and I immediately pulled over to the side of the road

He pulled me over and I immediately pulled over to the side of the road

I stopped

However, usually cops don't really do that but

He pointed his gun to my head

Of course, I got nervous when that happened

because in here USA, cops don't pull out their guns that easy

and when they do, they shot people, they don't forgive

maybe you have seen stuff like this in the news

Anyways, he yelled at me to show him the key for the car and when I did, he put his gun down

He put his gun into its pouch and he came towards me

and then he said

What do you have in this car? So far I can see that you have an exhaust

also he said that he saw the intercooler

I told him that I don't have much stuff in the ca, I only have a factory performance exhaust

He told me to open the hood or I will arrest you here right now

in order for them to search your car, they need your consent or permit paperwork

if they don't have the permit to search your car, they have to have a probable cause to search your car

like you have been involved in a crime

I said I will not open the hood for you

He said pop the hood or I will arrest you

Highway patrols are trained specifically for modified cars

You will see in the videos, Batikan will probably add them here

I kept telling to cop to give me my speeding ticket and let me go

also I was very respectful, I called him "Sir" only

He was on his period that day

He told me again, pop the hood or I will arrest you

I said I will not open my hood, you can arrest me

because I loved my car more than I love myself :)

Then I got arrested

Inanc : You will see in the video, it's pretty obvious how beautiful he got arrested :)

That's what exactly USA cops want. Someone that's resisting and not wanting to leave the car

Ercan : Actually, I did not even resist

What they want is that even tho just a little bit

not cooperating with them and not doing what they ask

For example he is telling you to pop the hood

Normally, he should pop the hood but

It's legal to deny that request

Ercan is denying it legally

and then the cop is then pulling him outta his car

from the cop's side, that's legal to do so as well

we can't say anything to that but you can complain about that in the court

However, if we compare this American cop with a Turkish cop

we don't know how legal is pulling out a person outta his car and slamming him to the asphalt

He handcuffed me from behind

He pushed me against the cop car and searched me for stuff and then put me in the cop car

before he put me in the car tho, He said "wait a second!I forgot something"

I asked what is it?

He said that he overtightened my handcuffs and he would loose them a bit

he tightened the handcuffs so much more like as much as he can

I'm sitting like this in the cop car

every time the car goes over a bump, I hear my bones cracking

Anyway, he took me to jail

Approximately, I stayed in there alone around 7-8 hours

They took everything but my clothes when I was going in and they gave back everything when I left

A friend of mine who called almost every police station in the bay area to find me, came to pick me up from the police station

I went to the court couple weeks after

In USA, in the courts

You go in there with like 5-10 other people who have a court

When you go in there, you can watch the others being judged before you

I had 2 people before me

By the way, this happened around like 3-4 years ago if I remember right

Weed was not legal in California those days

This guy before me, sold weed to someone

and the judge didn't show any mercy. She gave him 3 months in the jail and sent him

Then, I started getting nervous :)

and another person came

the last person that will be judged before me

This guy got his second DUI (Drunk Driving 2nd time)

The judge sentenced him for 6 months and my legs started shaking :)

They just started shaking when I heard 6 months, it's not easy :))

I was thinking like "Okay, this judge will not show mercy to me either"

Finally it was my turn and she said "10 days in Jail"

As soon as she said that

The whole life of me flashed before my eyes from the days I lived in Turkey until this judge said 10 days

Seriously!

I have never felt like this ever before

I asked why?

She said it's done and didn't say anything else

So I left the court room outside because my lawyer wanted to talk

the lawyer was provided by the government

The lawyer told me to wait and he said he will go speak with the judge

He came back after speaking with the judge

We reduced your 10 day jail sentence to 6 days

He said that since it's reduced to 6 days, you can do community service

So, I collected shit like weed, trash etc. on the highways, in the parks or in public areas for 6 days

Good times! LOL

I definitely DO NOT recommend speeding in traffic!!!

I was so different back then and I think completely different now

If someone asks me to do the same thing now, I definitely wouldn't do that

I would go to a track if I wanna do anything like it

I am so sorry I know that there is not much chance to do track stuff

Anyways, at the end IT WAS FUN :)

I learned and developed everything that's related to BMW Software and Electronics with that 135i

how and what did I learn?

Right now BMW E, F and G series

Whatever you want that's software or electronics related

It doesn't matter what module or what computer

whatever software

I can do whatever you want

like programming/coding a used module to another car

Whatever you can imagine software and electronicwise

especially if it's something that some people do, I definitely can do it too

Some of the things Ido are not available in the market!

I do those myself
