Today on Mike attempts, replacing the cabin air filter on a 2018 Mazda 6.
Open the glove box and pull upward on each side to release both hinge clips.
Squeeze the interior sides to clear the stop pins and pull forward. Pull
out on the damper arm to release it from the pin.
Here's a better view of the hinge clips from below.
Grab the center clip and pull out to remove the old filter.
The direction of airflow is indicated on the front of the filter.
Here's the new filter, see the description below for the part number.
If there's any debris in the filter slot, vacuum it out before proceeding.
Insert the new filter, making sure the front clip is facing down.
These are the bars that the hinge clips pivot on.
Line up the clips and push to snap them back onto the bars.
Raise the glovebox slightly and reconnect the damper arm to the pin on the right side.
Squeeze the interior sides to clear the stop pins and you're done!
If you need to replace your engine air filter, you can check out my video for that procedure too.
