Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan's 'gay bar' tweet sparks online backlash

Good Morning Britain co-host and resident shit-stirrer Piers Morgan has, shock horror, angered the nation again.

In the early hours of Thursday morning (August 31), Piers tweeted out a pic of him, his on-screen partner Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon enjoying themselves at a gay bar in Soho and people werent happy.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: Why do u have to advertise a bars sexuality we are in 2017, can u not just say a bar in Soho? and someone else said: Why define it as a gay bar? Surely its just a bar with people in?.

Another added: Why do you feel the need to inform everyone of the sexual orientation of the people in the bar that you have graced with your presence?.

It comes after the breakfast TV presenters summer break – he will return to GMB alongside Susanna from Monday (September 4). Ben Shephard also returns from leave on September 7, presenting with Susanna on Thursday and Kate Garraway on Friday.

Susanna said: After a calm and peaceful break, Im sharpening my wits and gearing up for being back in the hot seat next to the only man in Britain who could start an argument in an empty room.

We live in interesting times and itll be good to be back in the newsroom bringing events to our GMB viewers.

Piers added: Bad news, Britain. Im back on Monday morning and raring to go like a ravenous leopard. Albeit one with three broken ribs. its going to be lively.. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
