- So this ain't no Miata

- Oh, definitely not

- But with these brake pads, we're gonna see if they can...

have the stopping power not of *that*, but

of a much larger improvement of the stock one

So what brake pads do we have here right now?

- These are the Endless MX72 Plus, an upgraded version of their hybrid street and track compounds

called the MX72.

- And they seem... to be doing their work

Okay, obviously I am not pushing it as crazy as they can do since I am not the owner of the car

But DAMN

The stopping distance is better than the Golf already

- I've deliberately attempted to fade these pads with no success so far,

but given the right level of use I'm sure it's possible

but if you drive your regular touge driving (if you can call it regular)

You'd be hard-pressed to actually fade the damn things

My experience with stock brake pads,

When they fade it's not so bad until you get to that point where they really cannot stop anymore

and these, they actually LOVE it

The more you push it, the more they wanna stop

- Pretty much, the determining factor of how fast this thing can stop at this moment is the tires.

Because you know, the brakes, they're applying way more force than the friction of these tires can do

and these are not bad tires either.

- They're performance all-seasons

I know that some people will disagree that performance and all-seasons won't belong together

but hey, it's a compromise.

Normally, your stock brake pad or consumer stock brake pad,

They have an overheating temperature of between 400ºF and 600ºF

I recommend touge drivers, at a BARE MINIMUM,

aim for brake pads that can handle at least 1000ºF

and preferably at least 1200ºF if you have a little more money to spend

These overheat at over 1300ºF so

to get them to fade, the rotors would have to actually be glowing.

- For a lot of more hardcore touge drivers, glowing rotors are definitely a big issue.

- And glowing rotors are a thing of #fright for me

If people actually see their rotors glow, that should be a wake-up call that

you should stop skimping out on brake pads.

Considering brakes are one of the biggest safety factors for touge driving,

first being your tires,

Cheaping out on brake pads is nothing short of suicide if you ask me

I know that's an overexaggeration to some,

but from my experiences with extensive brake fades with different brake pads,

and especially one that may have seem [He's talking about EBC Yellow Stuff which is trash]

It's just not worth skimping out on

and if instead of worrying if your brakes are gonna work,

you should worry more about can you handle the road.

- That actually hit the bottom for your car huh?

- Amazingly so!

- That is a very hardcore segment of this road

- And your typical regular ride height car would absolutely have some sort of scraping

luckily this car doesn't have quite that issue.

- After this segment, usually...

the every other car I've drive has brake fade

within the first two mintues of me driving like this

but the fade, it's... it's so minimal, I can't really...

I can't really feel it myself actually

We've already finished the downhill run, will you look at that?

- And it hasn't really faded
