hybrid system in its 2018 Ciaz facelift

now hybrid technology isn't really new
to Maruti Suzuki it was introduced in cars
such as the Ciaz and Ertiga
in as early as 2015 with the SHVS smart
hybrid vehicle system however with the
new Ciaz 2018 facelift Maruti Suzuki
has introduced an enhanced version of SHVS
and has decided now to simply call it
the smart hybrid so how does this
technology really work well let's find
out well in the latest smart hybrid
system you get another battery in
addition to the existing one so you now
have a lithium ion and lead acid dual
battery setup which will help in
preserving more energy and thus be able
to provide more fuel economy it also
reduces the chances of the battery
backup itself failing with some Ciaz owners
complained of previously besides that
the smart hybrid system provides three
main features these features are idle
start/stop brake energy regeneration and
torque assist function let's talk about
each of these in detail
number one the idle start/stop system
the idle start/stop system works to
switch off the engine whenever the car
is idling in traffic or otherwise and
the moment you want to get a move on and
press the accelerator the recharged
battery and an electric motor will take
care of starting the engine and not use
any fossil fuel for that purpose number

system is all important since this is
the only way your battery gets recharged
breaking or deceleration charges the

assist the engine's idle start stop
system and the torque assist function

Smart bins to tackle aggressive seagulls and clean up parks - Duration: 4:53.
A new generation of "smart bins" is being introduced which promises an end to litter-strewn public spaces and aggressive seagulls by emailing collectors as they become full
The solar-powered receptacles are roughly the same size as normal bins but can accommodate around ten times the volume thanks to a crushing system which compacts the waste
This, combined with a modem which allows councils to accurately monitor rubbish levels, is reducing the number of bin collections in parks and on busy pavements by up to 90 per cent
The units, which are currently being trialled in five local authority areas in England, have been welcomed by environmental and anti-litter campaigners for tackling both the problem of unsightly overflowing public bins, as well as the wasted costs and emissions involved in routinely emptying bins that are not yet full
In two busy neighbourhoods of Waltham Forest in East London, council waste collectors were able to reduce their visits from three times a day to three times a week
The bins are also designed to deter scavenging birds and vermin because they are sealed except when opened using a foot pedal
The manufacturers, Irish firm PEL, say their Solar Street Bin can last 13 weeks without a light source

"The Government's upcoming Resources and Waste Strategy must be bold in pushing for a proper step-change in how we collect and manage our resources, with the related costs being paid for by producers, not taxpayers
