JACOB: So, this is how a bank works.
They help their clients, whether it's large corporations, start-ups, governments or individuals,
achieve their goals.
Think of it like this – we've just moved into a new house.
We've got to make sure there's no issues, so we can all live together, harmoniously.
Just like how different elements of a bank need to work together to make sure it runs
successfully, both for its clients, and as a business.
Let me break it down for you – a bank works in three key ways: to invest, grow and sustain.
It invests in businesses and people, by lending to, servicing, and building long-term relationships
with a variety of clients.
There's four of us living here and we need to make sure we get the right stuff for our
kitchen.
JENNY: Instead of each of us bringing a whole cluster
of pots and pans, we pooled our money together and bought one of everything we need.
NAOMI: This way we were able to maximise our investment
by being able to kit out this whole kitchen, and only spending a little bit each.
JACOB: We'll share all our kitchen stuff, the same
way in which a bank uses its clients money to help them get the maximum return possible.
Secondly, it grows it's clients' assets, providing innovative solutions to help them
make the most of what they already have.
GEORGE: Guys I was looking online earlier, there's
this new deal where we can get TV and internet cheaper together than we can separately.
JENNY: Yeah, it's actually so cheap.
GEORGE: Yeah, TV and super fast streaming…
NAOMI: And the fast internet will be so good for
uni work!
JENNY: Yeah… uni work...
JACOB: So, like how we've used insights to help
improve our own home, the bank uses intel to grow its clients' and its own businesses.
Finally, the bank sustains a smooth working environment internally, in order to ensure
it provides the best service for its clients.
And when the bank runs smoothly, it helps the economy, which means that communities
can flourish too.
NAOMI: Guys, I think we should all get this app to
help manage our bills…
I know some of you are a bit slow on the old payments...
GEORGE: Yeah well it's better than having the landlord
breathing down our necks!
JACOB: By using this app to sort our bills, we can
make sure everyone else in the house is happy, and it'll keep our landlord happy too, similar
to how a bank uses tech to roll out new experiences for its customers.
So, a bank invests in people and companies, grows its clients' finances as well as its
own, and sustains a smooth working environment so the business can run as efficiently as
possible.
GEORGE: Happy days team!
