Auto news on Youtube May 2 2018

I will fight to protect our prime farmland, the Niagara escarpment, and the Oak Ridges

Moraine, the people and places we love in Ontario.

I will say it privately and I will say it publicly.

I will say it to farmers, developers and environmentalists.

I am so sick and tired of politicians who will say one thing to their wealthy friends

and donors in the back rooms, and another thing publicly, when called out for putting

their well-connected insiders before the people of Ontario.

We can do politics differently in this province.

We can bring people powered change to Queen's Park, to change the status quo.

In this election, you don't have to choose between more waste and scandal or backroom

politics.

You can choose something different.

In this election, vote Green. Authorized by the CFO of the GPO.

2011-2014 F150 Ford Performance by Borla Sport Dual Exhaust Rear Exit 5.0L Sound Clip & Install - Duration: 10:21.

Well, guys, if you want one hell of a loud exhaust for your '11 to '14 Coyote-powered

F150, look no further.

Ford Performance's Sport Cat-Back that I have with me today was developed in partnership

with Borla, a leading name in the industry, and it will definitely give you a loud and

particularly mean sound as you just heard.

And all that sound is dumping from these very nice, polished hot rod rear exit tips.

Now, install is a soft two out of three wrenches.

And that's only because you might have to make one cut to this supplied tubing over

here.

Either way, the entire job should take you about two to three hours.

So most important obviously is sound, and the sport does come in at a very strong four

out of five on our loudness meter.

The only options that are gonna get you any louder are gonna be Borla's ATAK System or

a pair of Outlaws from Flowmaster.

Now, the sport muffler on this is straight through and it connects to two and a quarter

inch tubing.

That's all exiting out of these again, nice, polished four-inch tips.

Now if you like the sound and look of the Sport but you want something a bit more mild,

I suggest you check out the Touring version of this same cat-back.

And with awesome sound comes some equally nice quality here.

The entire cat-back is made from 304 stainless, top-of-the-line stuff, and considered best

in the category.

And all the hangers are pre-installed, and they're actually welded, which makes for a

very easy install.

Now, all this sound and quality doesn't exactly come super cheap.

The entire system checks out just shy of 1,100 bucks.

Again though, you are definitely getting what you pay for.

304 stainless, again, gonna last the longest with any system in the category, and the Borla

Sport muffler plus Ford Performance's overall build quality really cannot be compared.

Now keep in mind, the Touring system does cost the same, so all things are equal if

you like this setup, but you want a bit less volume.

Now if you do like everything you see here, let's get into the install itself.

Again, this is a soft two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.

And again, you might just have to make one simple cut, but I promise, it's very easy.

Anybody can do it.

So with that said, let's head over to our garage, get one of our trucks, and I'll show

you how to install this entire system.

First things first, guys.

We're gonna go ahead and get our truck up on our lift and supported safely with jack

stands.

So now that we have our truck up on the lift and supported safely, we're gonna go ahead

and get underneath here, and we're gonna start with removing our stock cat-back.

Okay, so now that we're under the truck, we're gonna remove our stock cat-back like I said.

What's nice about this is that the entire stock cat-back is one piece so all you have

to do is remove the two bolts on the flange up here.

Those are gonna be 13 milimeters.

Okay.

So with your flange unbolted from the vehicle, the entire exhaust system should slide off

as one piece.

Now, you have these rubber isolators up here that the hangers go into.

It's really good to spray those down and lube them up first, that way it's easier to slide

the system out of the truck.

Okay.

So now that we have our rubber isolators all lubed up, we're gonna go ahead and pull the

entire exhaust off the truck.

I have a buddy helping me out to make this a lot easier.

Ready?

Yup.

All right.

Go ahead and steer it down.

Cool.

And bring it back this way.

All right.

Now that we have our stock exhaust off the truck, it's time for us to install our extension

pipe for the new exhaust.

This goes on piece by piece.

Now, we're in luck today.

Our truck is the right cab and bed length, so I don't have to make any cuts to this.

So I'm just gonna go ahead and bolt it right up to the vehicle.

Okay.

So to start with installing this kit, you want everything hand tight.

You don't wanna make anything too tight because you wanna have a little bit of play with all

the tubing.

Okay.

So with the extension pipe hung on the vehicle, you wanna grab the larger of the three AccuSeal

clamps that comes in the kit.

This is actually gonna connect the extension pipe to the muffler assembly itself.

So just slide this on.

So with your extension pipe and your AccuSeal clamps set up, it's time to actually install

the muffler assembly itself.

Now like I said earlier, the nice thing about this kit is that all the hangers are already

installed and welded.

So it's pretty easy for you.

You can just take all of the hangers and line them up with the isolators and go ahead and

shove everything in.

So now that we have our muffler assembly positioned on our extension pipe, we're actually gonna

go ahead and tighten down this clamp.

That way, when we're putting on the rest of the tubing, this doesn't come loose and fall

off.

This is a 15 milimeter nut that we're gonna tighten down.

Okay, now that we have our muffler assembly tightened up, it's time for us to actually

install the rest of the piping.

Now before we do that, keep in mind that we have to install new hangers for the rear exit

tailpipes.

These hangers are gonna install on the nut that secures the actual leaf spring mount

and bolt to the body of the truck.

Now, you'll notice when I installed the new hangers for our exhaust system, that I didn't

actually tighten down the nut and bolt all the way on the leaf spring mount.

Now that's important because this is currently not experiencing any load.

If you tighten these back down while the vehicle's in the air and then you lower the truck back

down, you might rip through the bushing up here.

So tighten it just enough that it's secure with a little bit of play in the hanger itself,

then once you lower your truck and your system is on, go back under here, tighten these up

all the way with the leaf springs under load.

Now with both of our hangers installed, we're gonna start with putting our new rubber isolators

in.

These can be kind of a pain so you're gonna want to spray them down and lube them up.

All right.

So with your isolator on your hanger, it's time for you to put on your passenger side

tail pipe with your exhaust tip.

Go ahead and slide one of the clamps on to the tail pipe itself, and then we're gonna

throw it up onto the muffler assembly's outlet pipes.

Now with your tailpipe hung and in place, go ahead and grab your clamp and tighten that

down with the 15 milimeter socket.

Okay.

So once you have your passenger side tail pipe hung, it's time to do the driver side.

Now, it is a tight fit back here so the driver side is a little bit of a different story.

You have this extension pipe that connects to the outlet of the driver side muffler tube,

and that connects to the tail pipe itself.

Go ahead and loosely connect these two, throw your two clamps on, and then get it into place,

and hang it up on your driver side isolator.

Okay.

So with our driver side tail pipe hung and connected, the system is now technically complete.

It's one piece.

We're gonna go through and we're gonna tighten everything down, starting with these last

two clamps that I just talked about, and again, these are 15 milimeter sockets.

Okay, guys, so with everything tightened up front to back, that actually wraps up my review

and install of the Ford Performance by Borla Cat-Back.

One last time, when you lower your truck, make sure before you take off that you just

tightened down those two nuts and bolts for the leaf spring mounts.

All other things considered, enjoy the new sound.

I'm Travis.

Thanks for watching, and for all things trucks, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.

The REAL reason why Ford is killing all cars in America... - Duration: 3:33.

what's up YouTube my name is 728 and if you're new here I do a little segment

every Tuesday call it two minute Tuesday's let's get it

so today's two minute Tuesday segment is gonna be one specific topic because it's

so big that I just really had to dedicate most of the time to it so that

topic is Ford has decided that they are going to kill most of their passenger

car lineup in the United States so that means there is no more fusion there's no

more Taurus there's no more Fiesta and really there's no more Focus they're

gonna have like some little focus crossover things whatever unfortunately

that means that everybody's favorite focus the Focus RS is dead we got it for

one generation here in the United States now it's dead forget about it it's done

reason why I want to dedicate this two minute Tuesday segment is because SUVs

are stupid SUVs are fad did we not learn anything from the gas crisis when you

kill off all your passenger cars or what happened a couple years ago when the Big

Three automakers didn't have quality small cars to sell they got their ass

handed to them when the gas prices went up so if we have another gas price spike

spike or you know a situation where it's not feasible for people to keep driving

these Cuv's SUVs or whatever they're gonna try to go back down market two

cars and aren't gonna be in they're not very clear on what they said they're

gonna replace their cars with it they're gonna have some type of SUVs that are

gonna be considered cars so I'm guessing they're gonna be you know cars are

they're gonna be on platforms that are higher off the ground more ground

clearance this is the problem that I have with SUVs is that if you're going

that far to make a compromise because you know that people aren't gonna use

the capability why would you take such a big risk and kill off all of your cars

just for that why not just make better cars you

can't be mad at people and blame the industry shift saying people are not

buying cars when you build half-assed cars oh no he didn't

what car does Ford have in our lineup that's worth buying compared to its

competitors so to say that because nobody's buying your vehicles your cars

that the car is dead I think is a little short-sighted especially when you look

at the numbers in the auto industry luxury cars are still holding their own

so people will pay for a car that they feel is worth paying for just because

nobody bought your car is for doesn't mean that cars should be dead I don't

know what did you guys think you know leave your comments down below again

this is another two minutes Tuesday I'm sure I went over two minutes but hey if

there's a topic that I got to talk about I got to talk about it

so please if you liked the video give me a thumbs up I'm gonna do this every

Tuesday and so you need to subscribe to stay in the loop but as always thanks

for watching y'all have a good one

How to Install the iCOM ID5100 in (2016) Ford F150 Truck - Duration: 6:04.

So the first thing to notice here is the TV 71 faceplate you can see

how I've got it up in here and the

cable for does ran up underneath the headliner around that's actually working really good that is the Kenwood mount right there and

It has had no problems staying on there

So that's how that is

Mounted up there it actually comes on and off pretty easy if you want it to so that's where the faceplate is

So then what I did it. I just want to put my passenger seat

All the way forward and the reason why I mounted this body right here is because if you look

down here

this

Is the floor air conditioning mount so when it gets hot?

I have a cold air blowing right on top of the radio

So I've just bolted that right through the floor board and then I cut little X's into the carpet, and then I ran

the power cable along the edge of the truck and all the way up to the

front end of the battery

And then the coax I ran down underneath and that goes up through the headliner and you can see down there

on this side is where the

extension cable for the hand mic and the speaker is

Plugged into here's the speaker one

I think the cool thing is is this is almost the same size as the ID

5100 so I'm going to take this off and the 5100 will fit right into there, so that's where that's at

Okay, so this is probably one of the main reasons why I?

am

Ditching this tmb 71 known hand mic issues and its really

I should say the cable so this is just cat 5 cable boom plug-and-play. It's all done, but I

bought it long enough

Where I man I'm standing on the truck, but it doesn't retract so this cable goes bad the original it goes bad

And it's a pain in the butt. It's like all over my my feet areas this cables driving me nuts

So that's gonna go so this is gonna come out

it's just an extension for the

The hand mic cable go down underneath the center console like I've shown you and I have one of the vertex speakers

Matt right there, but I'm gonna remount that I'm not that somewhere else. I haven't quite decided where yet, I'm considering up on my

By my my b-pillar, but I don't like the fact that airbags there, so I haven't really decided yet, we're gonna mount that

So what we're gonna do now is we're gonna go ahead and take the main body out we're gonna take the control head off and

Will reroute these wires here

And then plug in the 51 of the body in the body will be done the only things

I really have to worry about now is where I want to mount

the speaker

And where I want to mount the control head for the 5100 so if you look in this little area right here

That's about almost 2 inches deep

I thought about mounting the control head there

But it's kind of out of the way touch wise so I'm probably gonna mount it somewhere right here

I think I'm gonna come with some bracketry to kind of mount it right here. We'll see so I'm gonna start disassembling things and

See where it takes us

And I wanted to finish up by showing you exactly how its installed so there's the ID 5100 installed

almost exactly as the V 71 this is underneath the passenger seat on the front right and

then you get a better view of the

The vent that gets to blow right on top of this thing and keep it nice and cool

So I put it to the SD card is really accessible right there in the front

So that's where that's at and then up underneath

the center console then around

All around the other side is where I ran the controller cable and the hand mic extension cable

So on the back of my truck. I have these bent this bench seats that split

And that lifts up and there's where I mounted the vertex

Speaker right against the power inverter just some small screws that fasten this on here

But it's really super solid and then I kicked it up and what I'm thinking is the carpet here mixed with the underside of this

Go down. Let's see if I can get a shot or anything

You can see there's still space, but I chose to put it on the back right so that the sound carries out

And up to the driver's compartment over here, so I'll hear it better and I ran some tests before I did that

Just a view from the other side you can see up underneath there, and then you can't see anything underneath the driver's seat

Or that it's nice and secure so that I can still lift these seats, and I can use this area where I put tiles

Crate so you can still utilize this area for storage and not worry about it

So I ran it underneath there pulled this little piece off right here

And then in here is where the control I made a little notch in

This oh the controller cable and the hand mic cable come out

And there's no strain on that or anything sharp pinching it, and then you can see what the controller is that I?

Don't like this mount. I'm telling you right now

I'm probably gonna change that and I just used an angle bracket into this little tray the center console of my truck on my f-150

the hand Mike

And I just mounted right up underneath there underneath the steering wheel

And that is how I mounted my ID 5100 is side of the 2016 f-150

so

That helps you guys out a little bit get some ideas

But I'm probably gonna get a ram mount put a ram out in here. I could bring it up this thing

Just you look at it. Don't buy this little thing leave that. I think just doesn't I don't like that

It's too flimsy so I'm gonna get a ram out right here come out and up

Gonna, be solid be right here, so I can actually push on it and change the frequencies a lot easier, so that's it

That's the 5100 in there

Classic Fords, Chevys and more! Some even run!! | Barn Find Hunter - Ep. 31 - Duration: 14:23.

- I'm looking at this, and I'm saying,

oh my goodness, this is what I live for.

A scene like this.

And I don't even know what he has.

(car engine revving)

(twangy country music)

Alright, well, I'll see you

probably in 45 minutes, how's that?

Thanks, buh-bye.

You must be Denny.

- I was too busy looking at your car.

I'll put on the uniform.

It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Back to the grindstone.

We're meeting a really interesting guy named Denny,

who we heard about from several people,

you gotta meet Denny, 'cause he's got some cool old cars.

He was planning to bring us to another building,

'cause that's where the old cars were.

I said, whoa, wait a minute, what about this car?

So what year is this Riviera?

- [Denny] 63.

- 63, the first year of the Buick Riviera.

401 nailhead engine, so if you're an old drag racing fan,

you remember Tommy Ivo used to run

nailhead Buick engines in his dragsters.

This was like a styling statement for General Motors.

This was over the moon, as far as style

for an American car.

How long have you had this one?

- I dunno, probably 15, 20 years.

I've had it a long time.

- [Host] Does it run?

- (laughs) Yeah.

- [Host] Can you start it?

(car engine roars to life)

Man.

Alright, so you wanna sell this?

- Yeah. - How much you want for it?

- [Host] So you'll take less, like $3,500?

- That seems like a pretty good deal.

- 3,500 bucks.

The floors look solid.

That's metal right there.

There's an Arizona plate in the front,

so this is an Arizona car.

Gonna open this (clanking drowns out voice)

Okay, so there's a new front...

- [Denny] Front piece--

- Headlight cover, I guess, whatever you call it.

To replace the cracked one in the front.

That can't be easy to find.

Extra trim.

So the floor looks solid.

Well let's see what else you got.

I love walking in the dark back buildings.

I asked Denny if he's a Ford guy or a Chevy guy.

He says, "Well, kinda both."

So that stands to reason...

There's a Falcon over here, and a '64 Impala over here.

Alright, so don't tell me.

That's a '51 Ford.

- S S, is that a 283?

- So that's a Falcon, it's got black painted bumper.

It's got a for sale sign on it.

260 V8, it's a 2 barrel, probably, right?

- [Denny] Yeah.

- [Host] 2 barrel, single exhaust?

- [Denny] Yep.

- [Host] Okay, good solid car?

- [Denny] Yeah, yeah.

I painted it.

- [Host] So, three speed on a column,

you never see many of those anymore.

A lot of people went through life without even

learning how to drive those things.

It needs a headliner.

Bucket seats.

So that's got a 260 V8.

A 260 was the second of Ford's small blocks.

They came out with a 221 for just a little while,

then it went to 260, and then 289.

So this is a '63 Falcon?

- [Host] What're ya asking for that?

- Five grand.

Well that's a neat-o car, wow.

So you got another building, you said, too?

- Cool.

(country music)

Oh boy, this looks like fun.

I'm looking at this, and I'm saying,

oh my goodness, this is what I live for.

A scene like this.

And I don't even know what he has.

I know I'm in love with that Ranchero.

You wanna sell this Ranchero?

- [Denny] Yeah.

- How much is that, five grand like the other one?

- [Host] Runs well?

- [Denny] Yeah.

(car engine revving loudly)

- This is the second Falcon we've seen today,

this being a Ranchero, the other being a 2-door.

With a factory 260 V8, 2 barrel, three on the column.

I mean, look at this thing.

It's got funky looking black wire wheels,

good chrome, straight body, nice paint.

That is a blast, man.

What is that, '46, '47 Ford?

- '46, I can't tell the difference.

- I'm a lifelong Ford guy, and I dunno the difference

between '46, '47, and '48.

Old Cutlass, so you got a '40 Chevy Coupe here.

- Five grand.

Another Riviera.

So that's a '63 as well?

- I know the '46, '47, '48 Ford Coupe.

There's a '56 2-door hard top, it's a Chevy.

But, you know, as they all did,

they rusted out around the headlights.

They were very rust prone cars.

I dunno if it's restorable.

Yeah, I think it probably is.

It's a 2-door hard top, which is the most desirable one.

And you know, '56 is the year...

'56 is the Chevy that a lot of people ignore.

They like '55s, they like '57s.

I like '56s.

So this is a Bel Air 2-door hard top.

It's got a three on the column.

Is that restorable, or is it pretty rough?

- [Host] So how much you ask for somethin' like that?

- A couple a grand.

And here's a '56 4-door.

- [Denny] '56 4-door.

- [Host] No motor, solid body?

- [Denny] How're the floors in here?

- [Host] This is from Texas, no kiddin'?

So a little bit, it's got some cavities there.

So this is a, like a '40 Studebaker?

- [Denny] '41 Studebaker.

- [Host] '41 Studebaker, straight six, flatheads.

Does it run?

- [Denny] Couple grand, if somebody needs it.

- [Host] How much?

- [Denny] Couple grand.

- [Host] A couple a grand, does it run?

- [Host] Two grand, for a '41 Studebaker.

- [Denny] That's really cheap, ain't it?

2,500 I meant.

- How about 3,000?

- Okay.

(laughs)

- [Denny] Sold.

- [Host] You know, for somebody that didn't have

a lot of money, and wanted a project car...

Does it come with all the trophies in it?

This is the most fun I've had all day.

Is there another building, or this is it?

(country music)

- [Host] Oh wow, another nice, new building.

Man, that's a good body.

Boy, look at that body, whoa.

So what year is this panel?

- [Denny] '41.

- [Host] '41 Ford.

Oh, look at that.

Corvette independent rear suspension with disc brakes.

That's a nice beginning of a street rod, here.

What'll you ask for this truck?

- Not gonna sell it, okay.

Oh, wow.

I happen to really like Cougars.

So it's a 302 Cougar here?

- [Host] That's a Cobra Jet?

Wow.

Here's a Marti report.

- [Denny] That guy worked for Ford.

- So the options it's got vinyl top,

cruise, automatic, it's got a traction lock differential,

which is posi-rear.

- [Denny] Original tires, I got two of 'em he had on there.

- [Host] Ram-air induction.

Power steering, tilt away wheel.

Air conditioning, AM/FM stereo.

Dad saved the Marti report, that's it right there.

That proves the car is original as you're presenting it.

- [Host] Wow, look at that.

Air conditioning.

- [Denny] Air conditioning, Ram-air.

- [Host] And it's got 30,000 miles, did you say?

It runs well?

- [Denny] Yeah, oh yeah.

- [Host] How much is this?

- [Host] When're you gonna know?

We're trying to sell these for ya.

- [Host] Over 50.

- That's a nice car, boy.

So you bought this in Oklahoma?

- And you needed to get home, so you bought this?

- [Host] So that's a three on the column?

- [Host] It's got a 327?

- [Host] 302, yeah.

- [Host] A rump rump motor, okay.

- [Host] So when you got it, it had a six cylinder?

- [Host] Yep.

- [Host] Did you paint this, or the same paint?

It was like that, black roof.

That's what it looked like before,

that's how good a shape it was.

- [Host] Ah, so look it.

So it was white all the way across the back.

So this was all white,

and he changed it to a factory paint job.

(car engine roaring)

So how much you asking for that one?

50 thousand?

(car engine revving)

That's sweet.

You restored this car?

Wow.

- [Denny] Body off, restored it.

- So it's got three on the tree,

plus overdrive in high gear.

- [Denny] This got overdrive, too.

- I don't want you to tell me what this is,

I'm gonna figure it out, okay?

- [Denny] What?

- Don't tell me what this is.

- [Denny] Oh, I won't then.

- Oh, well here it is, '58 Buick.

Okay (laughs).

Alright.

You know, that's one of the most expensive cars to restore,

because of all this trim on here.

Isn't that something, wow.

You bought that from a General Motors executive?

- [Host] Wow.

- [Denny] Look at that.

- [Host] Big ol' nailhead.

- [Denny] Chrome everything.

- [Host] Man, and look at all the accessories,

it's got the lights in here.

- [Denny] 14 lights.

- [Host] 14 lights, are these original?

- [Denny] No, he put them on there.

Put V nickels up there.

All, everywhere in the car.

- [Host] What's a V nickel?

- [Denny] Well, look right up there,

under that weather stripping.

Take a flashlight.

- [Host] Oh, right here.

Is that so they wouldn't corrode?

- [Denny] He was a coin collector.

He had gold coins, and he had

a packard, it was in a museum somewhere,

and he had gold coins in that.

Gold coins.

- [Host] So look at this, there's a nickel there,

there's a nickel there.

Isn't that something?

Jeez.

- [Denny] They're all under the dash, too.

- Nickels?

This guy had too much time.

- Nickels or quarters,

I think they're V nickels, ain't they?

- I dunno.

- Anyway, they're the big size.

- Jeez, this guy had too much time.

Look at the way this, the door is cut in here.

The windshield comes into the door.

Wow.

Look at all these accessories.

Man.

What a dashboard, looks like a spaceship dashboard.

How many miles on this one?

Can't be 24,000, can it be?

- You know, could be original.

That pedal's hardly worn.

What a contemporary looking gauge set.

24,953, that could be original.

Look at all, I mean everything in here is chrome.

All around the windows, all this trim going across the roof.

This guy bought every option he could buy on this car.

You think that's original upholstery?

- No, he had them seat covers made,

when it was new, in California.

He had them made in California.

It looked like the original seat,

but underneath them are like brand new.

He had them, he was a fussy guy.

See John Mason.

- [Host] Wow, look at that.

- [Denny] Owner.

He was a GM, John Mason.

- [Host] How long have you had this car?

- [Host] Could that be an original tire?

- [Denny] That's what he had in there, in the wrapper.

That's what he bought for it.

- [Host] Okay, so it's not original.

Heck of a car.

Well Denny, thank you.

This has been an amazing afternoon.

When we started off this morning,

we couldn't find anything.

We were kissing frogs and couldn't find a prince.

Well, this is our prince this afternoon.

We met Denny, and he showed us one building,

another building, another building, and another building.

It's one of those days you'd never imagine

the way it started, and how it wound up.

But today was a great barn finding day.

Happy hunting.
