I think the thing I love most about holiday season,

in particular Christmas and Thanksgiving, these times,

is the family environment.

(calm music)

I do whatever my wife says if you want the truth.

She's really the one who kinda prepares everything.

I do the meat.

Thanksgiving, I do the turkeys.

That's my job but I generally do

whatever she tells me to do.

Set the table, do this, do that.

I kinda follow her orders.

I think my favorite Christmas memory as a kid was when,

the year that I got a motorcycle and a gun.

We were lower middle class.

We didn't have a lot so that time of year

was the one year we got some really nice things

but usually, when you got something like a motorcycle,

that was all you get.

You didn't even get a pair of house shoes.

You didn't get a flannel shirt.

Those things went to someone else.

Our holiday tradition starts 12 days before Christmas

and it's just the most fun thing especially with the kids

and now with grandkids.

12 days before Christmas,

each day the kids get to open one gift.

So on the 12th day before Christmas, they open one gift

and it could be from someone in the family

but it has to be a present that's under the tree and wrapped

and we do that for 12 days right up until Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve, you get to open everything else

that has your name on it

and then of course Santa Claus comes that night

and you wake up the next morning

and you see what Santa Claus brought.

So Christmas for us is a half a month long.

If there's a chance something can go wrong in the kitchen,

if I'm there, it will.

We've had fires in the kitchen

'cause you're cooking something and it's a good game

and you forget about what's going on or.

My wife makes a oatmeal cream cheese cookie

that is absolutely insane.

The only problem is you can look at it

and you gain three pounds.

Our Voices - Morgan Edwards, Hugh F. Miller Insurance Agency - Duration: 1:50.

It started in 1985.

Grinnell Mutual is actually one of our first agencies

-- or companies -- we worked with.

We worked with them from the beginning.

Grandpa started in 1985 and my mom came couple years after that

and started working on the books with him.

She's been there a little over 30 years.

She's been there and I've basically been there my whole life, too.

Steve actually made a comment today.

He came in this morning and made a comment about how he remembers my mom being

pregnant with me when he first met her.

I thought that was kind of cool

because you don't get that everywhere you go!

I thought that was neat.

We really look at it as a trust thing.

It's awesome to have a company that you can trust

because I think that's awesome.

We can call and get anybody and feel like we have a good relationship with everyone.

Even Todd.

I ran into Todd the other day and he said he remembers meeting me

when I was eight years old.

That's kind of cool, too, to be able to have the different generations to go through.

I think it's neat because hopefully, one day, one of my kids will want to do this same thing.

And we'll be able to have the same thing happen.

I look at it, just because I know a lot of people walk into our office and they think it's great

that we have three generations.

And I think it's awesome that I can work with people that my mom has worked with

and built relationships with, because that makes it that much easier

to keep that relationship going.
