Barcelona stars including Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez receive brand new cars from sponsor Audi... a week after their rivals at Real Madrid got the same

For the most part this season, Barcelona have been first to everything when it comes to Spanish football. They are top of La Liga, having not lost a league game all season, and eight points above rivals Real Madrid, who occupy fourth place.

But Ernesto Valverdes players havent had it all their way. They have had to wait a week before club sponsor Audi got round to delivering brand new cars to them - seven days after their Madrid rivals got theirs.

  Messi has again been in impressive form for the La Liga leaders this season.

   He and Suarez were both popular figures as they attended the event near Barcelona.

    Messi opted for the brand new Audi RS 6 Avant Performance - not the most powerful of cars.

  That didnt seem to bother Barcelonas team of stars, though. After a routine training session on Thursday morning they were treated to their new vehicles.

Star player Lionel Messi appeared reasonably happy as he got the keys to the new Audi RS 6 Avant Performance model.

He was pictured as he got into his new car, which will keep him going for the rest of the 2017-18 season.

    Star striker Suarez went for the same model as Messi but in a different colour - Daytona Gray.

    Sergio Busquets chose the particularly powerful Audi R8 Plus, which also in Daytona Gray.

    The stars were also treated to a few laps round the track where the Spanish Grand Prix is held.

  The players watched on as they were shown a number of videos produced by Audi.

  Busquets got a driving experience like no other when he was taken for a few laps. Messi also stopped to sign shirts during the Audi event at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmelo, near Barcelona.

While the Argentine opted for something a little less powerful, Sergio Busquets and and Aleix Vidal were among those who went for a bit more thrust. Busquets opted for the Audi R8 Plus while Vidal went for the R8 Spyder V10.

The day didnt end there for Barcelonas players. They were all treated to a few laps around the track that hosts the Spanish Grand Prix.

    Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde went for the comfortable Audi Q7 E-tron.
