Welcome back guys. It's mark at Exotic Car Play Place here. I want to thank
Edmonton BMW for lending me this beautiful Competition M4. Now what I'm
going to do is do a full walk around. Did you know that there's there's some
specific features that BMW adds to the standard M4 that makes it a competition
package? And so let's talk about a few of those things. We'll do a walk around
the exterior of the car anyway, because there's some standard features as well.
But one of the things, let's just show you right now, one of the things are
these great wheels, these 20-inch wheels. You really only find those on cars with
the Competition package, and you only find those on cars of the GTS. So that
extra that high-end track monster that they created in low numbers, I think,
there was about 803 of them produced, those cars and the competition cars, are
the only ones wearing these particular complex looking rims, and they're 20-inch
wheels. A little busy but they look awesome. And another feature on these
cars are these awesome LED headlights on this. This is a standard headlight, it's
the adaptive LEDs that BMW jams on their cars, and this is on the M4 as well as
the competition package. Nothing new there. We've got carbon fiber ,we've got
awesome blacked out vents. So we've got a lot of cool features, most of the stuff
is standard M4 material, so let's get going on the juicy stuff. So some other
features that you get in the competition package happen to be what they do is
they buff up the horsepower from the engine. The same 3 liter engine that you
get in a standard m4, but they tweak it a little bit, it has 444 horsepower as well
in there. So it gets a bit of more of a tweak, it's halfway between the GTS and
the standard M4, so it's got a little bit of extra energy there brewing under the
hood as well with that. The competition package is available in both the manual
gearbox as well as the DCT for those of you guys who like to stir the gears,
you are not excluded. As well as for those that like the DCT, well hey, guess
what? They're just in terms of extra power, they may also add the adaptive M
suspension, which also includes new springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars are
all included in that packaging as well. We have now the active M differential,
which is also included in this packaging, BMW was getting sort of tired with the
competition pulling out the new tricks on the track, they needed something to
freshen up, and added some of these little tricks to make the car wee bit
quicker for a track environment. The only other hint that this is something
special with the competition package, is they've added the blacked-out trim all
the way around. You have black trim all the way around, all the windows, extra
little touches, everything's black. Otherwise in some cases it may not be
black and might be other other color themes, but in this case they've added
the black touch around all the trim pieces that aren't carbon fiber. They
happen to be black, and that's what they were trying to accomplish, was give it
sort of a little bit of a stout look, but other than that it's very, very subtle.
Everything's actually beneath the skin, it's a suspension differential, slight
tweak in the horsepower, everything else is more or less standard fare. You guys
who wanted to know what the M4 Competition package was all about, those
are some of the subtle little changes that they added and made to the standard
M4 to give it that extra little bit of something special. So just for this I'm
going to give you one little shot of exhaust note, and we'll go from there.
