Africa Twin Anniversary Ride - Duration: 8:16.
as the iconic Africa twin celebrates one year in India one of motorcycles India
takes us on a ride to celebrate to some some crazy places
and to celebrate not just with a few but with the whole tribe
54 of us to be precise
beautiful locales set in southern India
from trails to highways
on the plains to the top of the hills
enjoying the view with old friends
and making new friends as we go along
traversing the length and breadth of the Nilgiri's
from coffee plantations to quaint villages from slopes planted with tea to
well laid twisties and magical bamboo tunnels to national
forest reserves all of this with beautiful landscapes to go along the
route limited only by our own limitations as riders.. the tries.. the
dares ..the Falls.. the laughs and it all welcome to the Africa twin anniversary
ride whoever said motorbiking was all fun was
wrong I mean whose idea of fun is walking around a lonely hotel lobby at
5:00 a.m. wearing stiff boots and armored clothing but seeing all those
AT's lined up sets you up and as a man of adventure I'm never the one to shy away
from discovering the unknown and asking the right questions when in doubt
"How do I get out of here?"
as soon as he figured out the important stuff like how to get out of the
basement parking lot, it's begun! we ride out from Banglore or Bangluru or doesn't
matter it's a much better exit than Bombay or Mumbai doesn't matter we're
soon we're outside the city and that's always a good thing very happy to see that the
riding culture here is popular and lots of riders heading out being the weekend
as for me I sometimes forget how easy it is to cruise on the highway on the
Africa twin so we go from the Mangalore highway to the smaller but still
well-kept state highways to yet smaller roads till we get to where we want
to be that Hill up there that's where I'll be playing today as the rest of the
tribe rides to Coorg
today I shoot all day for Honda and get to go up and down and up and down again
and you know do wheel spins and throw up dust with drones flying around and ride
up hills and all the stuff that makes me very very happy the evenings were fun too
with old friends and new that's our insta Icon Sachin Wadhwani, gotta put his leg
what's life without a few laughs .Come mornings and we line up like good
school boys
but it was a sight to see all the Africa twins making their way through these
quaint hills
it was a lovely route and some of it I had ridden earlier on my scrambler
it brought back beautiful memories
we stopped for a break at one of the coffee plantations owned by a friend and
a fellow African rider, that's Shiv in the red and blue pants and this is his
place isn't it beautiful this was an easy ride with plenty of time
for pictures and even sightings of some wildlife while we were at Masinagudi
the Masinagudi forest is gorgeous we stayed at a property called The Monarch
it was time to kill and my drone the dji spark was the new toy at hand to
fool around with it was a perfect setting for hanging out with fellow
African riders and have conversations of course you could have of any
conversation you like as long as it was about the bike and biking
peaceful evening rum with friends and off we were the next morning finding
some trails around the area Sachin had found some a day before while shooting
with the production team
and of course there were instructions to be followed
"Stay behind me, I've got my GoPro on"
but yeah this will give you some idea of how pretty that area is
it was a perfect day the Sun was out
the skies or blue and the weather was great and to that bikes falling all
around and it completed the picture of course we helped them maybe not all of
them but some of them yes yeah we did anyway let's pull out the music and
enjoy this little hill climb and the love the exhaust note
it was time to get down the hill and be on our way enjoying every bit of the
ride through the forest road and the endless hairpin bends
that lead all the way up to the beautiful hill town of Ooty
after a grand party tonight we would ride to Coimbatore early morning that's
ending this ride Honda motorcycles India I can't thank
you enough for this ride the sights the memories
and the love that you've shown us
