Hi everyone!
Welcome back to my channel.
First of all, I just wanna start off by thanking all of you for showing tremendous support for the
last video.
I did a Cantonese-speaking vlog with my grandmother, which I will link up here.
It was so fun to do with her and today, we filmed episode 2.
So keep an eye out for that video in the next couple of weeks.
So we're now in the month of March.
February flew by so quickly and it was very, very eventful for me.
I do have a few items and things I would like to share with you so let's get into it.
Okay, so for the very first item that I have to share with you, it is this bottle of argan
oil that I've been using as part of skincare routine.
If you guys missed it, I posted a Get-Ready-With-Me Morning slash Morning Skincare Routine which
featured this as one out of the two items that I use in the morning.
I'm a little late to the argan oil train.
I know a lot of beauty vloggers or beauty experts have been using argan oil as part
of their skin care routine.
I think I've just been a little hesitant because the idea of applying oil on my face, on my
skin, was foreign to me.
But I got this as a gift and I finally tried it out.
And I've been loving it.
I feel like it helps to give that impression of the glass skin look that is very popular
in k-beauty right now.
I take this bottle.
I take one pump and I mix it with my moisturizer and then I put it on my skin.
And it feels like it's doing a really good job in terms of moisturizing and balancing
my skin.
And even though the oil looks yellow, it doesn't come off that way on your skin.
So yeah, definitely recommend it.
And I think it's okay for even those with oilier skin types to use as well.
According to what I've read but take that with a grain of salt.
So the next item is this book by Marie Kondo.
And it's called "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up".
And I know this book has been creating some buzz in the world in the past couple of years.
This was gifted to me by a friend who knows that I struggle with tidying up.
This book argues that as children growing up, we are always taught to clean up after
ourselves but we've never actually been given the right skills or the right methods to do
that properly.
So the author of this book developed a method called the KonMari Method that is a comprehensive
guideline on how to approach tidying up.
In this book, the author describes how to discard items, how to store items, how to
approach clutter, how do you approach throwing things that have sentimental value to you.
So it was a very quick and easy read.
And if you are struggling like me to 'KonMari' your room, then I would definitely recommend
this book.
The next item that I have to share is actually a movie.
And it's none other than Black Panther.
If you have been living under a rock or you just haven't been around social media, this
movie stands to smash global and domestic records.
And I got to see this just actually last night.
It was such a.. okay, to be honest, I'm just gonna give you my honest review, okay, so
to be honest, without spoiling too much, I found the storyline to be a little slow.
And the pace to be a little slow.
And I found that that's how I usually feel about most origin stories, except for maybe
Wonder Woman.
And I also found the villain, which is Michael B. Jordan's character, to be a little one-dimensional.
I feel like they could've done more.
But other than that...
I think this movie represents an unprecedented movement in Hollywood, and in film-making
and in the Marvel Universe.
I think it had such a star studded cast.
A strong cast with strong acting abilities that helped to depict the different characters.
The costume design was beautiful and I think it has such great social impact.
For example, the #BlackPantherChallenge that came from this encouraged people to donate
money so that children who are unable to see the movie would have the means to go and see
screenings.
Yeah, I think anybody's looking for something refreshing, something that has a lot of action
and something that helps you to reflect upon afterwards, I would definitely recommend this
movie.
Yeah, I think one of the themes is "how do we use the resources, and skills, and talents
to serve".
And for me this really hit home.
As a Christian, I think a lot of the times we talk about gifts and we talk about talents and how we can use
that to bless the people around us and this movie kind of talked about that.
It has really challenged me to think about in what ways and methods I can use my gifts
to serve in the communities around me.
Yeah, I think it's a great movie to reflect upon so I would definitely go and watch it.
So last month, I also got to check out the Christian Dior exhibit at the Royal Ontario
Museum, which is located in Downtown Toronto.
So Christian Dior is still very much a household name and a powerhouse in fashion and you can
see that their designs over the decades have really exemplified ingenuity, craftsmanship
and a lot of creativity.
And what was unique this collection was that it was donated by Toronto socialites.
All the clothes and accessories that were made available for viewing were designed between
1947 and 1957.
This time period is kind of significant because it was right after the war so Christian Dior
designed these clothes for women who coming out of the war.
And he designed them with such feminity in mind and just helping women feel beautiful
and happy wearing these clothes.
If you get a chance, I would really encourage you guys to check out this exhibit.
I think they're running 'til March 19.
There is a discount if you are a student.
Keep in mind that when you pay to go see the Dior exhibit, you can also check out the other
exhibits that are available at the ROM at that time.
And I put some clips together for you guys to see what I saw.
Right here...
So that is all for my February favourites!
There's not much but I think there are some excellent things in there.
As per usual, if you like this video, please give it a thumbs-like.
Thumbs-like?
Thumbs-up!
