AutoTopNL in a KIA?!

Are we on their territory?

Or they on our?

I hope the latter..

Kia wants

to create a more attractive brand

Which is why this Stinger's been made

And the Stinger GT is the

the sport version

We've seen the concepts

of the stinger

on various motor shows

And everybody loved it!

Some even said

that it should have been the re-launch

of Alfa Romeo..

and not Kia

A nice compliment!

And now it's here..

We have the GT

with a V6

with 370HP

and 510NM

and Albert Biermann

the guy responsible

for the Hyundai i30 N

which we loved!

is also responsible for this..

So it should be good..

but

this is a GT

and not an M4 competitor

And it feels like a GT

And it's brilliant as a GT

Suspension is very well balanced

always comfortable..

The variation between Comfort and Sport+

is there!

The German 3

can be too subtle there..

This is really comfy in comfort

and in Sport+

communicative..

And the engine

the drivetrain

is super

An old-school V6 Turbo sensation

Not as refined as a BMW 440i

Which is silky smooth

with very crisp gear changes

That ZF gearbox is super

as well as the engine..

This is a bit more brutal

blunter..

The gearbox is good enough

It never really under performs

But it's not very convincing..

But that engine

feels so punchy

really powerful

When you compare this to a 440i

or an Audi S5 sportback

or a C43 AMG

This really feels the fastest!

Good job on performance!

straight line performance!

This thing can go 270km/h

Without any effort

It hits it in no time..

And to make it stop

They got the big guns

Brembo discs and calipers

great stopping power!

But the pedal feel is..

.. could be better

Lets put it that way

But

They do look good

behind the 19" rims

And with the All Wheel Drive

you get an explosive launch

great acceleration with the V6 Turbo

and deceleration with those Brembo's

In the interior

You notice less creativity

This is from Audi

Gear lever is also Audi influenced..

Screen reminds me of Mercedes

Could have more of their own twist

But I have to say

the equipment you get

is a lot..

Heated and ventilated seats

front and back

only heated in the back

Heated steering wheel

Hawk eye view

with the Rear view camera

Radar Guided Cruise Control

FANTASTIC seats

With adjustable side support

reminds me of the M Sport seats

Nice job by Kia!

This is all as standard

In the Netherlands you always get AWD

with the V6..

Which is optional in different countries

But the problem is that

because of AWD

and the fact that it's not a very advanced drivetrain

.. a lot of CO2

More CO2 than a Porsche Panamera Turbo!

And so it's 99.000 euro

in the Netherlands

crazy expensive!

What I also like

is they created their own look

It doesn't look like any other car

Yes it's a 4-door coupe

Which every car brand is horny for..

But it has its own look!

A bit of Maserati 3200GT!

with those rear light units

with that eyebrow line

It looks chunky

A lot of vents and holes

Like the wheel arch openings

to get the pressure down

and to cool the discs

Also

there are OPTICAL

"vents"

in the bonnet

To make it look beafier

They are fake..

But it does look good..

We also have quad exhausts

This is the EU version

the US version

makes too much noise

wasn't allowerd here..

This exhaust is completely silent..

no noise..

They could have made something more fun..

Are they going to steal BMW or Audi clients?

Mercedes..

I don't think so

But

They show what they want to do

with the brand

and if Kia

makes more cars like this

Bring it on!

This really is a fantastic car!
