The 2018 Ford F-150 is here and with a mid-model refresh means that there are a lot of new

changes to touch on.

Without further ado, let's jump right in to some of the new aesthetic features.

The F-150 has gotten a facelift in the form of a new grille and headlight design.

The new grille design is inspired by the Superduty and features extended bars into

the headlight area where the new headlights wrap nicely around them, finishing off an aggressive

yet sleek design.

The taillights also get a slight redesign with upper and lower LED outlines where the

former had just one line.

The F-150's tailgate now either gets a stamped F-150 graphic on the lower trims or on the

higher trims a new horizontal appliqué noting the trims level and finished in a contrasting

chrome or black on the Raptor.

The engine lineup has changed for 2018 with the introduction of the 3.3 Liter Naturally

Aspirated V6.

Also slated for 2018 is the new and exciting Power Stroke Diesel.

The Existing 3.5 Liter EcoBoost in it's second generation is dialed up to 375 horse

power with a best in class 470 lb.ft. of TQ.

The 5.0 Liter V8 gives you 395 horses and the 400 lb.ft. of TQ that allows this engine

to deliver best in class payload.

The 2.7 EcoBoost has been revised and is also a smart fuel sipping option and the mighty

3.5 Liter twin turbo high output EcoBoost in the Raptor tops out the most versatile

and capable light truck lineup over any other manufacturer.

The new 10 Speed Automatic Transmission is now available on every engine sans the 3.3.

Compared with the 6-speed gearbox it replaced, the 10-speed delivers improved overall performance,

with enhanced acceleration at the low and mid ranges of the power band.

Features include optimized wide-span gear spacing coupled with drag-reduction actions

plus three overdrive gears.

What's more, you can choose from new selectable driving modes: Normal, Tow-Haul, Snow-Wet,

EcoSelect, and Sport.

All models also feature Auto Start-Stop technology that shuts off your engine at a stop thus

saving fuel and starts automatically when you release the brake.

This feature can be disabled at the push of a button and will not engage while towing,

using four-wheel drive or while in sport mode.

This generation F-150 has carried the lighter and stronger Aluminum alloy body for years

now but this is not household aluminum you find in your baking tins at home.

No this is heat treated and hardened aluminum alloy used in military and industrial applications.

Giving you a rust free, strong bodied truck that saves 700 pounds that in turn allows

for greater power to weight ratio, better fuel efficiency, and a higher maximum payload

and towing rating.

As a truck owner, you know you may find yourself off road and the F-150 is prepared for that

situation.

Shifting into four-wheel drive is as easy and turning the dial.

In the Lariat and up trim the truck will sense the need for four-wheel drive and switch over

automatically.

With the FX4 package you get an electronic locking differential, hill decent control,

off road tuned shock absorbers, skid plates, plus the available 360-degree camera will

help in those treacherous off road situations.

When the trail goes from a light romp in the woods to a high-speed desert chase there's

hope for you yet.

The 2018 Raptor carries over the same specs from 2017 with FOX Racing Shocks that allows

for up to 14 inches of travel, Twin Turbo power from the 3.5 liter high output EcoBoost,

and the Terrain Management System that includes normal, sport, weather, mud/sand, baja, and

rock crawl modes.

When it comes to the F-150's capability Ford has not been number one in truck sales

for 40 years running for no reason.

The best in class payload and tow ratings and exclusive features make the F-150 stand

head and shoulders above the competition.

Best in class towing is no joke, with the F-150 Super Crew configured with a 3.5L EcoBoost

and four-wheel drive can tow a hefty 13,000 lbs.

Best in Class Payload is maxed out at 3,270 lbs. when the F-150 is equipped with a standard

cab, 4x2, long bed configuration and heavy duty payload package.

With its class exclusive amenity features like the integrated tail gate step with lift

assist that makes getting in and out of the bed a breeze.

The remote tail gate release that allows your tailgate to gently open with a press of a

button on your key fob.

The deployable box side steps that allow you to reach inside the font of the bed without

climbing in.

A plethora of LED assisted lighting in the side mirrors, box lights that help you see

your load in the dark, and the hitch light on the tailgate handle, you can be efficient

day and night.

The 2018 F-150 as you would guess is loaded with great tech features.

On the dash, you get an 8 inch productivity screen that provides useful information from

fuel economy to towing data, and off road status.

Sync Connect by Ford Pass allows you access you truck via your smart phone to start, lock

& unlock, check your vehicle status including the fuel level.

Ford Pass also allows you to reserve and pay for parking, compare fuel prices along your

route and get help from a friendly Ford Guide.

For safety, there is BLIS with cross traffic alert that extends with trailer coverage which

warns of oncoming traffic while backing up or when a vehicle is traveling in your blind

spots.

Pre-Collision assists and the lane keeping system will help you avoid unexpected situations

by scanning the road ahead and warning you of a potential collision.

The lane keeping system will alert you when you veer out of your lane with audible warnings

and a vibration on the steering wheel.

Adaptive cruise control with stop and go will allow you to set a cruising speed and set

distance to the vehicle ahead.

This system will automatically accelerate and brake to keep you preset speed and distance

and even bring you to a complete stop and resume once traffic flows again.

And always you get the option of SYNC 3 an intuitive infotainment system with SIRIUSXM

radio, Navigation, Travel Link, and Apple Car Play and Android Auto capability.

And with the new Bang & Olufsen stereo system you will for sure be rocking out to your favorite

tunes.

Also new for 2018 is WiFi hot spot capability for up to 10 devices.

How to Adjust SYNC® 3 Volume | Ford How-To | Ford - Duration: 1:06.

[MUSIC]

Adjusting the volume on your SYNC 3 system so you can easily hear your text messages,

navigation directions, phone calls and more is simple.

To fine tune the volume to your preferred level,

you must first be sure the phone's volume is turned up.

This is especially important when using the SYNC 3 text message and

phone features.

Then whenever an incoming call or text message is received,

you can further adjust the volume by simply using the plus or

minus volume control on your steering wheel or

by turning the audio volume control knob located on the center console.

You can also adjust the listening level of the navigation system if equipped,

by again using the same volume controls on the steering wheel or the center console.

Keep in mind, you can only adjust text message, phone and

navigation volume while they're in use.
