The Roughing Gouge is a robust tool, with which we primarily deal with lathe pieces
The sharpening angle is about 55 °
but it may vary depending on your personal taste
since the exact angle is the one on which you are comfortable with , But 55° is a good starting point
Sharpening can be done with the extensible jig by gently rotating the tool
or laying it flat on a Bench Grinder Tool rest at the correct Angle 00:01:48.00,00:01:55.00 The center marked on a trunk is accentuated with a few shots of Mallet on the Nail Punch.
Or even better with a Drive Center
And placing the trunk between the Drive and the tailstock
And adjust the toolrest about 10 mm. lower than the line between the two tips
We begin the roughing operation by supporting the Gouge on the Toolrest
keeping the handle low, ensuring that the heel touches the wood
Then Gently raise the handle until the gouge begins to bite the wood
The lathe speed is around 1000 rpm.
Now tha we have removed some wood, we move the toolres closer to the workpiece and continue with the roughing down
When the piece has a cylindrical appearance, we can increase the speed at 2000 rpm
Remember to keep the toolrest always close to the wood
Now we mount a green branch on the lathe
Roughing green wood is much easier and more enjoyable
And less Dusty
After the green wood we turn a square with sharp edges
Be careful, before turning on the lathe, make sure the wood does not touch the toolrest
Leaning the Gouge on the piece, the ticking tells us that the wood is not perfectly cylindrical
One last tip
It's Advisible not to use a Roughing Gouge To rough-cut a square block of wood But preferably a Bowl or Spindle gouge
The Spindle Gouge has a shallow flute.
And are used on end grain wood and for turning coves and Beads.
The detail gouge is a variation of the Spindle Gouge , But has a sharper tip
Here it is caressing the wood to give it a smooth finish

The Bowl Gouge is more robust and rigid and is recognized by the flute being deeper

or figernail shape with longer wings,
or irish grind with wings even longer
For the last two types of sharpening, however, a Jig makes sharppening much easier,
The choice is subjective, here, Antonio, in fact, uses a Grind with wing only slightly ground back
A special sharpening is the double bevel, seen here, very useful in digging bowls.
This instead is a 10mm Gouge sharppened with a single Bevel
Here We shape the outside with a 13mm gouge.
Always with the same gouge we start hollowing
while the dust collector nozzle removes much of the dust
Notice the wings of the gouge facing right as the digging proceeds from the outside to the inside
and we continue with the wings on the right and cutting with the tip
To finish the bottom of the bowl we replace the gouge with the 10 mm.
and proceed in the same mode, that is, wings on the right
Now we show how to finish the outside of the bowl with 10 mm gouge.
Next we finish the lip
Finally, we finish the inside, remembering to keep the wings to the right

Wltoys k989 Rc Mini Car Review Unboxing In Depth Inspection Test Drive of The Sinohobby Mini Q Clone - Duration: 13:35.
hello everybody and thank you all for watching a new episode of how to DIY RC
and today today we're gonna be unboxing the wltoys k979 mini rc car yeah I know the
title has been a little bit of a click bait because all the spare
parts are being sold as the k989 so that's why we made the title
like that and don't get confused by the box because we have a different kind of
body and different kind of wheels because that's the difference between all the
different kind of cars this is the body style and wheels for the rest is all
exactly it's the same and going over the box before we going to unbox it So you
get a radio and get Springs you get a plastic rims and rubber tires you get
a metal alu chassis and top plate with and differential but that's plastic
it's 1/28 scale and 2.4Ghz radio it goes plus minus 30 km/h that's
pretty fast it's ready to run (rtr)and four wheel drive and of course you get
transmitter you get a brushed motor you get a steering server for proportional
steering this is pretty nice you get a battery to 2s lipo and a lipo battery charger
this also pretty nice this is the car that I have but you also get
high-speed ball bearings and suspension with pre-loading clips so you can change
up the tension of the shocks that's pretty nice and these are the different
kind of styles that you have so you got a Porsche with drift tyres then you got
this VW beetle buggy with off-road tires
same as the wltoys k989 rally car got the same rims and off-road tires then you
get a short course truck with different kind of tires and rims then you got the
monster truck with really big wheels and some kind of hot rod with off-road
wheels and that's it actually for the box so let's start the unboxing with
this little RC car that give us a lot of fun during this winter
because it's gonna be raining and really windy so we are not gonna be flying or
driving a lot outside and it's gonna be way too cold
as always we get a box inside of the box and just pull it out and i still can't not
comprehend that I only paid twenty dollars because it wasn't discount I
pick $24 and then I put a discount code on it and only paid $20 for this
hobby grade RC car this probably going to be the charger 2s charger lipo like a lipo you
already pay five to ten dollars for a two cell lipo and charger and you get a
radio 2.4 gigahertz radio that's pretty amazing and this is my very first car
so I don't got a lot of radios but it feels really good
and lays good in the hands the rubbers feels soft
soft rubber and hard plastic with a soft rubber wheels feels really good and then trim buttons
for steering and throttle and on and off switch and a antenna but it's not a real
dipole antenna but there's a little wire running tru it so having it stick up will
get you a little bit more range just as work with my micro drones show us the
manual it is in proper English with no spelling mistakes a pretty good
manual and a lot of parts being blown up so you can fix and repair your car later
is pretty detailed and i'm really liking it It get my thumbs up and a part list so you
can order spare parts and a lot of metal parts of the sinohobby mini Q making a real
hobby grade car I'm real liking it I'm gonna to be
modifying the heck out of it to changed into a drift car so we can have some fun
in the winters as you can see you get a receive ESC combo with a server
3 wired server that's pretty nice then you got a brushless motor and 130
get it going pretty fast a two cell lipo that is four hundred mah and you got some
space to wiggle so a 450 month battery will fit the space that's fit for the
lipo is about five and a half centimeters but I think if we can drill
an extra hole you can win an extra five mm so you can put a battery in
it is about six centimeters long to two centimeters high and wide so that's for
the battery good to know that extra information and another good thing is a
metal driveshaft running to the front and the back and get metal axles with
the newest versions the old version came with plastic but they are breaking at
the first day so they stopped producing them and they all get upgraded metal
axles even just cheap or $20 discount car I was pretty amazed then you get of
course the springs with the pre-loading clips then air-filled not oilfield
I'm real sorry but it's still pretty amazing and what else do we have
aluminium chassis and top plate and we can extend the wheelbase a little bit
longer for five millimeters but then you need an extra part that I of course orderd and be
coming in pretty soon I hope because the long wheelbase will be helping in
drifting so for the price in between 25 to 25 dollars you get an amazing little
car pretty nice for the money let's go oh if
you're looking for any spare parts and it was pretty difficult to find them
because the k979 almost don't have any spare parts you'll be
finding spare parts under the k989 or else there will be a
few spare parts from the kyosho mini z that will fit and from the
sinohobby mini Q I'll put all the links down below so search for you will be a lot
easier so check those out and and today we're gonna be having an insight depth
view of the wltoys k989 showing you all the goodies that you come from and
pay for with a little mini RC car and of course straight away you can see you
got a metal chassis plate but then you got a metal driveshaft you get metal
shaft to each wheel and i'm calling this drive shaft as well so you got four of
those metal drive shaft with a bearing on the shaft as well as a bearing on the
c hub itself so in the c-hub there's one bearing in the front one bearing on
the inside on this shaft so there are two bearings on each c hub then you have another
bearing on each side of the diff then you get another bearing on the side of the
drive shaft the main drive shaft and that means in total you got fiveteen
metal bearings the diff itself they are plastic and inside gears are plastic as
well you just have to believe me you do have metal upgrade parts for that
the first one and the cheapest one is a plastic diff case with a ball metal ball
biff the second option is a one-way front diff and locked full metal diff
for the rear and the same with the one way diff at the front it's from the sinohobby mini Q
and this is completely full metal and we ordered them they will be coming in
pretty soon the motor pinion is plastic as well
as the other gears are plastic that's a little bit of a shame but of
course again you got metal upgrades for it and they are coming and just hoping
they get live sooner than later all the other plastic part are plastic all the
other parts like the c hub and everything els that's on the frame and the outside
diff case it's all plastic of course for a few of these parts like
the steering arms that upper arms and supporting arms there are metal upgrades
for that you can also change the angle of your toe in toe out and camber so it's
pretty nice and pretty cheap they are all be coming in and I will be showing you if
they fit correctly so don't buy before you're gonna see the video that it works
or not then this little car also comes with springs non oil filled shocks but
they do have pre-tensioning Clips so you can pre tension the springs making it
stiffer or softer so that's a good thing that you get shocks with
the clips make your life a lot easier and then you also have a middle
top plate a 130 motor a 5 grams plastic gear servo with a servo saver and then
of course the easy and receiver combo that runs on the balance lead on one
side this is the motor wires and then we have an extra connection maybe from
lights I don't know and of course my an onn & off switch and
a three wires servo I forgot to tell you because that's a very nice thing
it's only tree wise not that strange 5wire thing oh I hope you liked this video
showing you how it goes outdoors very first test drive showing you how fast
it is and tracks in a straight line pretty nice and the proportional steering
is pretty good and it's gone

of these mini RC car it's perfect for drifting comes with a lot of
modifications and upgrade parts from the sinohobby mini q and it only
costed me 20 bucks so I'm super happy with what I got is a true happy great RC
car with lots of spare parts proportional steering in a server
four-wheel drive metal driveshaft metal CV DS dog bones and so much more
metal upgrade parts and a one-way differential and a locked differential
full metal and drift wheels there's so much more we can do with this little car and
have some fun during the winter indoors and this is one of the last pretty's
days of this year probably because it's very deep into the October and it's
gonna to be 20 degrees this week pretty amazed pretty quiet look at the water so
quite so went quiet except for the noise of some farmers of course but you you
