It was story time at Morgan's house

so Morgan, Elliott and Synthia were looking for a book to read.

Morgan has lots of books,

but they couldn't find one that they wanted to read.

They had read all of their books so many times,

they wanted something different.

What they need is a new book.

But where are they going to get a new book?

Morgan has an idea.

What if they write their own book?

They have read so many books they should have no problem writing their own!

Everyone agrees that writing their own book sounds like fun!

"Okay," says Morgan "What should we write about?"

They start to think...

but no one can think of something to write about.

Elliot says "Writing can't be that hard."

"Here, I'll show you."

Elliot is writing very quickly.

But he's not writing words only random letters!

"You can't just type any old thing," says Synth.

"It has to be a story"

"I know," says Synthia,

"Think of something you really like, and we will write about that!"

Bears!

Hover boards!

Teddy Bears?

Robots!

Robots?

Synthia likes robots

But what can they write about robots?

Hmmmm

Morgan gets an idea

They should go ask Commodore!

He should know what to write about robots!

Commodore greets the kids as they run up and say hello

Morgan explains that they're trying to write a book about robots

but they don't really know what to write

and they were hoping he could give them some ideas

Commodore says that robots aren't all that great.

You'd be better off writing about old gadgets

They are far more interesting.

Like this camera

"What does it do?" asks Elliot

It takes photos

Elliot asks if he can take a photo

Commodore says that Elliot can take the camera if he likes.

Morgan thinks the camera is nice,

but he doesn't think they can write a book about it.

"It wouldn't make much of a story" says Synth.

Commodore has an idea.

"Hudson is good at telling stories."

"Perhaps they should see if he has any ideas they could write about"

They all think that's a great idea and head off towards Hudson's house.

When they arrive at Hudson's house

Hudson is busy arranging rocks in his garden

Morgan tells Hudson about how they need help writing a book

and that Commodore said that he was good at telling stories

Hudson says Commodore likes his stories

he's got one called Rock Adventures

one called Boulder and The Beautiful

one called Stone's Throw

"Are they all about rocks?" asks Morgan

"Yes"

"You should write about rocks too"

"You could write about igneous rocks,"

"sedimentary rocks,"

"metamorphic."

[Offscreen] "You could talk about their colors, their patterns..."

Morgan says that rocks sound interesting

but they don't know much about rocks so, ah,

they might have to write about something else.

"That's okay," says Hudson

"But if you change your mind,"

"I have plenty of rocks here to inspire you"

Morgan, Elliot and Synth decide to see if anyone else can help them come up with ideas for their book.

Elsif suggests they write about flowers

Hall says they should write about flying drones

because it's lots of fun

And Dipdees says they should write about the bestest most funnest thing on the planet.

Hopping!

Morgan, Elliot and Synth still don't know what to write their book about

Their friends all gave good suggestion,

but the subjects weren't really things they wanted to write about

"At least I got to play with his cool camera" says Elliot.

"Check out my photos!"

As Elliot scrolls through the photos

he explains what is happening

"This is when Commodore gave me the camera"

"This is Dipdees hopping around"

"Oh"

"This is when Hall crashed the drone!"

As Elliot tells the story of each photo, Morgan gets an idea

"This could be our book" he says

"we could write a story about all our friends"

"and use your photos as the pictures!"

Everybody thinks that's a great idea!

They are very happy with their book

It is exactly the type of book they wanted to write.

"Let's go show our friends!" says Morgan

Morgan tells everyone that they've written their book

Synthia say she'll read it to them

so they all gather around and get comfy

Everyone loves the book

They especially like seeing themselves in the book,

thanks to Elliot's photos.

Story time was a little late today but now they have a new book

A new favorite book

Because they wrote it themselves and it's all about their friends

>> OBVIOUSLY, THIS ALL ARISES -- WE TALKED ABOUT CHARLOTTESVILLE.

IT ALL COMES FROM CHARLOTTESVILLE.

THERE'S BEEN A NATIONAL PUSH TO REMOVE OR RELOCATE A LOT OF

THESE NATIONAL MONUMENTS, THESE CONFEDERATE MONUMENTS.

THIS WEEK THERE WAS A BIG DUST-UP IN CHAPEL HILL.

THE CHANCELLOR AND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES --

UNIVERSITY, I THINK THEY'D LIKE TO REMOVE THE MONUMENTS.

>> Marc: DID THEY INDICATE THAT TO THE GOVERNOR?

>> IN THEIR LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR, NOT THEIR

CONVERSATION, WE DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SAFE TO LEAVE IT UP.

WE'D LIKE THE HISTORICAL COMMISSION TO DETERMINE THAT.

IT'S DISINGENUOUS THAT YOU WANT HISTORY PROFESSORS TO DETERMINE

WHETHER SOMETHING IS SAFE.

THE GOVERNOR POINTED BACK TO THEM BASED ON STATE LAW THE WAY

HE READS IT AND THE SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT REITERATED THAT THE

LAW IS VERY MURKY.

IT IS UP FOR INTERPRETATION.

IF THERE ARE SAFETY ARGUMENTS, YOU CAN REMOVE THOSE STATUES.

WHAT THE GOVERNOR HAS SAID, HE WANTS TO RELOCATE THE ONES ON

THE CAPITOL GROUNDS TO A PLACE OF REMEMBRANCE, TO A

BATTLEFIELD, A MUSEUM, AN HISTORIC SITE.

AND I THINK THAT A LOT OF FOLKS WILL BE PUSHING THE SAME THING.

BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, I THINK YOU SEE THE UNIVERSITY

TRYING TO NOT MAKE THIS DECISION.

YOU HAVE A CHANCELLOR AND A PRESIDENT WHO WANT THEM TO COME

DOWN AND A BOARD OF GOVERNORS AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES AT UNC WHO

DO NOT WANT THEM TO COME DOWN.
