So here we are, about to test-drive the new Kia Stinger GT
at one of my favourite circuits in the world, Cadwell Park.
Let's go.
OK, let's go.
Helmet on. Of course, safety first.
So under the bonnet we have a 3.3 litre
V6 Twin Turbo 370ps.
That's giving us a top speed of 270km/h,
on a 0-100km of 4.9 seconds.
Fire it up.
Nice growl as it fires into life.
We have a number of drive modes,
and we're going to pick Sport.
And then we're going to turn Traction Control off,
and the Stability Control, because we're on the track, of course.
But not only that, we've got Launch Control.
A racing driver on a race track... got to try Launch Control.
So...let's go.
Great traction off the line up to second.
Up to third. The 370ps working well.
Up to fourth. Into the first fast left-hander.
Great grip through there. You feel a lot of G-force.
Back to the right side.
You've got front and rear electronic multi-link suspension
really keeping the car firmly on the ground.
Nice little bit of mid-corner oversteer there. We like that.
Very impressive how much grip we've got.
Up to fifth gear, 200km/h, as we hit the Brembo brakes hard,
stopping us nicely for the end of the straight.
Down to third into the right-hand corner.
You can get this model in a rear-wheel drive.
Today we have the all-wheel drive system,
the Torque Vectoring system,
which really does hold the track ever so well, so much grip,
and really a lot of grip on the front.
Down to third gear. The paddle shift's working well.
Back to fourth.
Really spontaneous shifting, which is really nice to feel.
Through the tight left-hander there. Up to third gear again.
510 Newton-meters of torque,
really using all of them to get out of the corner
as hard and as fast as possible.
Hard on the brakes into the mountain section.
Left, down to second gear.
Right as we go up over the jump.
There we go. The traction and power is just fantastic.
Through the complex here. Right. Left for right. All in third gear.
A little bit of flick oversteer as we go through.
The car is, as I said, all-wheel drive,
but predominantly powered to the rear wheels,
so it effectively allows you to have a nice little slide
through the corner there as you can feel.
Up to fourth gear as we go across the line.
Now that is great fun.
