Hi mates! Do you know how to tell of it's a real M3?
It has a differential with a radiator, that's how.
Mind it.
3 litre engine, 450 HP, 550 Nm, 4.1 sec 0-100.
Yeah, but this is in the brochure.
I will tell you about 7 things you need to know about BMW M3.
M3 comes with special gear lever - M style.
This is AT, but different from other BMWs.
There's no P so when you want to turn of the engine, you do so while in D.
Unlike what you've been told numerous times.
The car goes into P when switched off.
M3 can be crazy or normal.
Suspension, steering, engine and gears can be tuned to your liking - comfort, sport or sport+.
It's 81 combinations, actually even more, cause you can turn the traction control on or off.
Two of those settings - the ones you find the most appealing - can be saved under M1 and M2 buttons on the steering wheel.
When all is set to the most normal mode, the car is not much different from 3 Series.
The suspension is comfortable - even on a bumpy road.
Sure, you still have to watch what you're doing 'cause you still have 450 HP.
But it's driveable.
To be honest, I was overwhelmed by this horsepower so much I drove the M3 very cautiously.
Also, this is M3 with Competition pack, which adds 19 HP to already impressive 431 HP.
Moreover, it's got 20-inch rims instead of 19-inch, stiffer suspension, less aggressive traction control
The differential is tuned differently, too. Oh, and sport exhaust.
Really crazy.
The boot is still 480 litres, same as in 3 Series.
More than enough for big grocery shopping or luggage.
Given the relatively high consumption - 12 litres / 100 km when driving quite civil
Maybe I wouldn't want to drive M3 to Portugal, but somewhere in Poland, why not?
Besides Google Maps, BMW navi is the best in my opinion.
It's accurate, it's got real time traffic info, and it's intuitive.
Setting the address is very easy, and iDrive can decipher even the most mangled letters.
This one has Head Up Display, which is a plus, as directions are shown where one usually looks when driving.
4-door car is more comfortable than a 2-door when someone's traveling in the back.
There's also ISOFIX mount for baby seats
So if you need to travel with a baby, there's nor problem with that.
Or maybe there is.
Special M Competition seats have holes in them, so the kid will probably kick you in the back. Maybe put the seat behind passenger seat?
How do you drive such monster?
It's strange.
Sure, you know you've got enough power to overrun anyone
But there are certain rules and one should adhere to them
Even on a highway, M3 is too much
But, as I said previously, it's not made for that.
If you crave emotions, can deal with 450 HP and real wheel drive
then you should get this one. And a track pass.
But seriously, don't try this on the street.
My friend came over to my place. She drives Golf GTI.
When she saw M3 in the driveway, she forgot she had plans, forgot about her husband... and I get her.
There are cars I'd love to park next to my bed and eat my breakfast next to it. But M3 is not one of them.
