[background music] Enough playing around family! We're starting today's video with no complications! Here we go!

In 3, 2, 1!

[squeaky voice] Welcome back to all my-

Why is my voice like that? Why is my voice like that?! [yelling] [explosion sound effect]

[squeaky voice] What's going on? What's going- [cough]

[normal voice] Oh, oh! That was scary.

Welcome back to all my Kats! RAH! [glass shattering sound effect]

Now, let's get this day started!

It's currently day 2, of our car shopping adventure together.

So, if you don't know I am currently shopping for a brand new car and it's going to be the car for the channel.

Just as the BMW was the DOF mobile. The new car will be The Kats Family car.

Doesn't have a name yet and today

we're going to the Porsche dealership. Porsche, Porsche. Whatever you want to call it. Let's go!

Why are you doing? Get in the car. Why are you coming? [evil laughter]

Okay, that's a good reason. Let's go.

This is gonna be my first time ever in the Porsche dealership.

Okay, so my brother is like a kid in a candy store right now. He is so excited

we're both about to get to test drive the turbo s, but before we do that, let me show you the car.

[Music]

Here's the thing with the turbo s. It is not a head-turner.

So, it's not like, if I were to get a Lamborghini or if I were to get a Ferrari.

Everybody would have that clout of saying, oh dude you drive a Lambo. You drive a Ferrari,

but, you're not gonna get a much better drive than this car right here

and that's what you're going to experience right now when we take it out on the road.

So, although this doesn't have the best exotic look for an everyday car. You're not going to get much better than this.

It's- it's basically a hyper car roller coaster. 0 to 60, in 2.6 seconds

The only thing that beats this, is the Bugatti Veyron and no one's spending $1,000,000 on a car!

I mean, this is it. This is the ultimate performance drive.

Just like I did in the Ferrari, let me sit inside and see how I feel. All right, here we go.

This is a big deal because how you feel in a car is a big deal.

Okay! [laughter]

This just feels already like, you're in like, a sports car. Like this seating, this steering wheel.

Let me show them the yellow. Look how cool this looks.

So in the one we're in right now, look at that yellow.

That is beautiful, and I already saw this on YouTube videos because I've been doing a lot of research

The actual seat belts are also yellow.

Oh, man, I didn't think I was going to like this car, but just by sitting in it now

I can't believe they're letting me test drive this car. I feel good in this now

Let me know what you guys think in the comments section below. You guys saw the Ferrari.

This is now the second car. You guys are going to be a big influence in the decision I make so let me know what you think.

Wow!

[Music]

And just to give you guys a little different look. Here is a red 911 turbo s and this one, you can already see, oohh.

That looks sick, and also inside it has yellow trim going around the seats and also has yellow trim going around all the leather

and again, it has the yellow on the inside, but it doesn't have the yellow seatbelt.

I'm not too worried about the color we end up going with because you know, we're probably going to wrap this car if we do get it.

So whether I get blue, whether I get red that really doesn't matter to me.

Okay, here we go guys! My first ever time test driving the Porsche 911 turbo s.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I'm ever driving a supercar.

The only car I've ever driven close to this, was Tyler Perry's, California.

Which isn't in the same category as these, so this is about to be a lot of fun.

Everybody buckle up. Y'all know what happens when I get in a car. [laughter]

Here we go.

Ooohhh!

Aaahhh!

Dang, I wish, like there's no way for me to like, test it.

[laughter] I know, it's tough, it's tough.

It's tough with all these roads and all these cars, like I feel like i'm driving home from work right now.

They're just a bunch of cars and i'm in like, this super car. Yeah. It sucks. Yeah.

Aahh!

[Engine rev]

Whoo!

Oh, I love that sound too.

[transition sound effect]

So far, i'm just loving the quality of the drive. Oh yeah.

It feels like a quality drive.

It's like the Ferrari wouldn't be an everyday car. No way. That's the thing.

It would turn heads, it would be like, I have a Ferrari, but it wouldn't be an everyday ride. Right.

This, I can drive everyday. I can have fun, if I wanted to, I could take it the track. 100%

It's a- it's a more practical car.

Oh, let's- let's have fun with these. That's the last curve.

[engine rev]

Nice!

It's like I'm hugging the road. It's incredible.

[thought bubble sound effect]

Beautiful.

I'ma go sports plus here. Okay. There we go.

Oh yah!

Any problems with cops here? Nah, you should be all right.

[engine rev] [background music] Oh! What a jump!

That was instant! Instantaneously. That was instant! What's the 0 to 60? Just over 2.5 seconds.

Yeah, it's motorcycle fast. All right i'm going down again. I'm going down. Can I do that again? Yeah. All right.

[Engine rev] [background music]

[laughter]

Pretty nuts right? That's beautiful.

That's beautiful because it's like, it's a classy kind of fast. Oh yeah, it's a linear fast.

This is gonna be my last chance to

really like, feel this, you know, sport plus again.

[engine rev] Until I decide to buy the car!

[Engine rev]

Because I love it so much!

I- I wouldn't get bored driving this car. Oh, no way. No way! You can't.

[Engine rev]

Wow!

I mean, this is where the Porsche is really different than any other car.

It's like, the car is driving itself for me. Oh yeah. That's what it feels like. [engine rev]

[engine rev] Make a right.

[engine rev]

Oh my god!

See the thing with test driving a car guys, is you end up missing that rush.

So, that's what gets you to go back and buy it because you're like I wanna feel that again.

It's true.

That hugged turned so beautifully. Yeah.

Like, I didn't even touch the brakes, and that just was-

[Engine rev] I've never experienced this before. Not a lot of cars- come over into this left lane. Okay.

Bye, bye! [laughter]

Bye, bye!

Oh man.

I'm basically selling you guys the car right now. [laughter] That's right.

Everyone's like, yo I wanna go drive a Porsche 911 turbo s now. It's good to advertise.

[sound effect]

I'm having so much fun right now.

It doesn't feel like, I like, you wouldn't have any problems driving this every day.

With the comfortability of it, with the drive.

You know, having to worry about where to park, you know can I take it to the grocery store?

I feel like this is the car that can get it all done for you. 100%.

So, that's what we have to think about when we pick the car together guys.

You know, it's not all about what's going to turn the most heads.

Like, obviously if that was the case we would go and get an Aventador.

The 488 instantaneously, but we have different things to think about.

Oh, we're here. No!

No!

Why are we here?

[laughter] My brother's looking at me. He can see the smile on my face already.

No! [popping sound effect]

This is the worst part, like that was such a fun ride and now we have to leave like I don't want to leave that's how much I like the ride.

My brother won't stop talking about his test drive like he's going off about how much he enjoyed it. He loved it.

Muffin, i'm home!

What? I just test drove a Porsche 911 turbo s!

Excuse me? A Porsche 911 turbo s isn't good enough for you?

Fine, you know what when I get that car, you don't get any rides with me Muffin!

Oh, such a diva.

In all seriousness family, today's a very big day for not only me and muffin but for you guys as well.

As I'm sure you're aware by now.

We passed 400,000 Family members. Now I don't want you to think I'm not excited. I went crazy, I stayed up all night.

I snapchatted it. I tweeted about it. It was a huge thing, but now I have to do the most important thing.

This is a very private moment for me, but I want you guys to be a part of it. So let's go.

Come on Muffin.

[sad music] We gotta go visit dollar, come on.

Oh, man. [bird chirp]

Oh, man the rain really tore this place up.

But, everything still looks good.

I have never done this before. I've never experienced a death in my life like in my family on such like a

personal level. So this might be funny to a lot of you guys. You guys might make fun of this

but this is something I feel like I want to do something I promised myself I would do and like I said

I do consider you guys family, so I want you guys a part of this.

What's up dollar? Hahaha. Buddy, I feel it.I know you can feel me right now, and I know you can hear this

Yo, everything has been so amazing dollar, like, I wish you were a part of this right now

like, you know all those times you were with me in Los Angeles when I was sad, and I was down

and I told you that like one day we're gonna move to New Jersey. Oh my God bro. You can't imagine

how much our dream came true. Okay, so I'm more happy than I've ever been.

Me and muffin believe it or not get along like, insanely like, she's like, my best friend ever right now.

We were like, inseparable and she's doing so good dollar like, you would be so proud of her

and something I really want to tell you.

I've been working so hard like, so hard in your honour to make you proud and today,

We just hit 400,000 subscribers on the new Channel that we created.

Uhhh, you never got to be a part of the new channel dollar and I really wanted you to, but it's okay because

every video I post is in your honor and the best part about it dollar I swear.

You know how I used to hate uploading videos because of all the hate? On the new channel, it's all love.

It's all love, they all support, they all love muffin, they all love the family, they're so positive,

they're so happy and I swear they comment all the time to tell me they miss you. Dollar, I miss you so much,

I love you so much, and I promise I'm going to continue grinding my hardest to make you proud

I will come talk to you at every 100,000 subscribers, and I promise to make you so proud. I love you baby, and

there will never be another dollar to my dream.

Icon buyer: new Porsche Boxster vs used Aston Roadster, CAR+ February 2016 - Duration: 15:40.

Icon buyer: new Porsche Boxster vs used Aston Roadster, CAR+ February 2016

Nine years since its introduction, there are now some seriously tempting deals on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster.

How tempting? The earliest cars are yours for around £40k with just 40,000 miles on the clock, and some of these cars are still being sold through main dealers.

Go for the desirable 2009 model-year facelift and you're looking at the mid-£50k bracket, with mileages typically spanning just 10-20,000.

But for most used Vantage price points, there's a showroom-fresh Porsche ready and waiting, from the £39,553 entry-level Boxster through to the sensational – but slightly less practical – Boxster Spyder for £60,459.

Today, we're driving the GTS, the car that topped the Boxster range before the arrival of the 3.8 Spyder.

It mounts a 3.4-litre flat-six behind the driver, sending 325bhp and 266lb ft to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Costing £53,872, Porsche's mid-engined roadster will set you back the same as a low-mileage 2009-2011 Aston.

Which is exactly what we're pitching it against, our test car supplied by Aston Martin Works (astonmartinworks.com). The Aston still feels like a £100k machine, with its beautifully stitched leather dash that arcs with a graceful curve, and low-slung, deeply comfortable seats.

Push the jewel-like key into the centre console and the V8 erupts like a munitions factory thrown on a bonfire.

This is an intoxicating but mellow rumble, not an unholy din, and dropping the roof allows you to enjoy it all the more.

Press a button and the thickly insulated fabric roof neatly retracts behind a tonneau cover panel, and does so on the move. Even at relatively high speeds you're well protected from buffeting, while refinement is still good with the roof closed.

The V8 builds its power undramatically at first, but with the backwards-reeling rev counter clear of 4000rpm the exhaust note hardens and the V8 sparkles, though it never feels as fast as all that noise suggests.

The Vantage doesn't feel like a particularly sporting car, either: the steering is quite slow and heavy, the gearshift a bit JCB, and no amount of clever tailoring can hide the 300kg it's packing over the svelte Boxster.

You're also keenly aware of a more wobbly structure than the Vantage coupe, the tremors sneaking up the steering column a constant reminder.

The Boxster doesn't feel quite as special inside, but the fit and finish are still superb, the infotainment bang up-to-date, and the driving position absolutely superb: low-down, snug, endlessly adjustable.

Like the Aston, the Boxster's fabric roof stows on the go at the press of a button, but there's no tonneau cover here – the fabric top is still exposed, and the gaps between it and the bodywork look a bit clunky.

Nothing clunky about the driving experience, though. The steering is tight, quick and precise, the chassis is both supple and far more playful than the previous generation Boxster, and the brakes have superb feel and endless stopping power.

The powertrain is the icing on the cake. The six is a little torque-light down low, but that just encourages you to use all the revs; a fizzy, responsive, delectable 7000rpm-plus.

And then you just do it all over again with a flick of that slick six-speed manual. Servicing and running costs .

Vantage is based on 10,000-mile/annual visits to your chosen workshop. The schedule changed for cars built from December 2012, but our budget focuses on earlier cars.

Prices from Aston Martin Works are as follows: 10k/1yr £853; 20k/2yr £1069; 30k/3yr £983; 40k/4yr £1205; 50k/5yr £944; 60k/6yr £1254; 70k/7yr £1220; 80k/8yr £1205; 90k/9yr £983; 100k 10yr £1155.

The Boxster requires a service every 20,000 miles or two years. Typical main-dealer charges are £480 for a minor service, £610 for a major service.

Adrian Flux Insurance quotes £344. 50 fully comp for a 40-year-old average male driving the Porsche, £400 for the Aston Martin.

There are a number of desirable options for the Aston, including the Power Upgrade (£2750; boosts 4.3-litre cars by 20bhp/7lb ft), the Sports Pack (£5395; 68% stiffer front springs, lightweight five-spoke alloys, Bilstein aluminium dampers), Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity (£645 for post-2008 models), iPod integration (£1194), and a reversing camera (£3485).

Carbonfibre exterior enhancements include a grille (£2255), mirror caps (£1493), rear lamp surrounds (£1194), side strakes (£1293), and splitter and diffuser (£3273). Clear rear lamps are £1292, painted brake calipers £1515-£1995.

Aston Martin Works also offers bespoke upgrades on pre-owned cars, from the retro-fitting of the above to complete interior retrims and exterior colour changes.

At £53,872, the GTS carries a £6k premium over the Boxster S, but if you option its extra equipment on an S you end up at a similar figure, and without the GTS's power hike and some of its USPs.

Adaptive dampers, the Sport Chrono Pack with dynamic engine mounts, 20-inch Carrera S wheels, Sports seats Plus, and dynamic bi-xenon headlights are all standard, but would add £4358 to a Boxster S. But you can spend more.

Key options include front/rear parking sensors with reversing camera (£1044), PDK dual-clutch gearbox (£2351), metallic paint (£558), torque vectoring with locking rear diff (£890), carbon brakes (£4977), cruise control (£267), heated seats (£284), PCM with navigation (£2141) and DAB radio (£324).

Fixed-rate sports suspension is a no-cost option.

Reliability. Aston gets plenty of stick for its ageing product line-up (that 2016 DB9 replacement can't come soon enough), but the advantage is evolution that's ironed out all the bugs.

As a result, many of the early cars' glitches have been sorted under warranty – 'front cover oil seals, for instance,' says Aston Martin Works' Justin Pearce – and the knowledge fed into later cars.

The V8 engine is also known for its strength and durability.

Buy from Aston Martin Works or another main dealer and you'll currently benefit from the Assured Scheme and its 140-point check with 12 months' MoT and warranty, plus any servicing that's due within three months or 3000 miles.

A new Timeless scheme will be introduced during 2016.

In our experience – and barring occasionally fiery GT3s – Porsches are robust, and more amenable to high mileages than more exotic cars – both in terms of how they shrug off those distances and how the used market accepts them afterwards.

Then there's the three-year warranty and breakdown cover. Verdict.

There's much to admire about the Aston, notably a timeless design that still turns heads, that fantastic engine, the beautiful interior and a fabric roof that's refined when in place, and neatly tucked away when not.

But it's not as fast or engaging to drive as the looks and noise would suggest, and scuttle shake is quite pronounced, a tell-tale that the body has lost some stiffness with the removal of the roof; it all makes for a slightly leaden driving experience.

The Boxster GTS, meanwhile, is hard to fault. It looks and drives more like a supercar than a £50k drop-top, suffers none of the wobbliness that afflicts the Aston, and offers all the feel-good security of the latest numberplate.

This month, the new car has to get the nod. . Porsche vs Aston: the numbers. £53,872. 3436cc 24v flat-six, 325bhp @ 6700rpm, 266lb ft @ 4500rpm.

Six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive. 50sec 0-62mph, 175mph, 31. MacPherson strut front, multi-link rear. 1420kg/aluminium.

4374/1801/1273mm. Aston V8 Vantage S Roadster. £53k (2010, 20,000 miles). 4735cc 32v V8, 414bhp @ 7000rpm, 347lb ft @ 5000rpm.

Six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive. 7sec 0-62mph, 180mph, 20mpg, 321g/km CO2. Double wishbone front and rear.

4385/2025/1260mm. 2007-now.

I've had my GTS for 2500 miles now; it's the closest thing to a supercar for £50k, and balances everyday usability with serious performance. I drive it all the time, in all weathers, and every journey is a joy.

It looks great too – the 981 re-style is perfect to my eyes. The dealer paid for half my options and put £1500 towards the car to win my business – impressive.

The previous owner pulled fuse 22, so there's no muting my Vantage at any revs, and I average just 12mpg – I'm certain that 50% of the chemical energy in the fuel is converted into noise! The gearbox can be clunky at very low speeds but it's forgivable at speed.

It's all about the engine – hood down, with the Vantage V8 at full chat, is one of life's joys.

Icon Buyer: New Audi TTS vs used Porsche 911 C4S, CAR+ - Duration: 16:11.

Icon Buyer: New Audi TTS vs used Porsche 911 C4S, CAR+

Most Audi TT drivers dream of owning a Porsche 911, but find themselves £43k short when new. Throw a used 911 into the equation and things get much more achievable.

So today we're pitching the top-spec TTS against the 911 C4S. Both have over 300bhp, use all-wheel drive to hit 62mph in under five seconds and offer 2+2 seating to give families a get-out-of-jail-free card.

A 911 for the price of a TT? If it sounds like a no-brainer, there's plenty to recommend the Audi.

The third-generation TT is a much better drive than its predecessors, diving into corners like a US Marine tackling a heavily armed Moroccan, and offering both involvement and Superglue traction thanks to fast-acting Haldex all-wheel drive.

Audi's old 3.2-litre VR6 might seem a preferable flat-six substitute, but the new turbo four puts less weight in the nose for better acceleration and sharper handling, improves mpg and sounds better than the same unit in CAR's Golf R.

Pair it with the DSG gearbox and you'll cover ground like you're riding a travellator. Only the low-speed fidget on our car's 20-inch rims disappoints.

Inside, Virtual Cockpit tops off one of the most seductive of all interiors. It's a TFT screen that puts the sat-nav in the instrument binnacle and allows you to configure the dials to suit.

For the iPhone generation, it brings an appeal the 911 can't counter. Porsche 911 997 Carrera 4S.

The 997-generation 911 C4S starts below £30k for a 2005-2008 car showing 50k miles, but that's quite a leap for a new buyer accustomed to three-year deals.

Instead, it's the 2008-2012 '997.2' that lands firmly in TTS territory, updating the 997 with direct-injection, revised suspension, freshened sat-nav, optional PDK gearbox and more. They're yours from around £40k, but we're testing a 2009 model from specialists Paragon (01825 830424).

It's done 27,000 miles, offers sat-nav, adaptive dampers and sports exhaust, and was up at £47,995 – comparable to our £46.5k-with-options TTS – but has since sold.

The 911's low-set driving position is perfect, the cabin architecture timelessly appealing, and the double-stitched leather shrugs off wear-and-tear. The sat-nav has aged, but it's still perfectly serviceable.

And those looks: doe-eyed headlights, slinky glasshouse, the way the rear screen plunges to emphasise this wider Carrera body's arch cleavage; it's almost indecent.

At the wheel you notice the extra steering weight when you turn and accelerate thanks to the front driveshafts, a ride that's more mature than the TT's, and the 997.2 is also characterised by an improved composure over bumpy back roads.

The soundtrack dominates: all breathy rasps at low rpms, and the blur of noise and speed as you wind to 7200rpm is like being strapped to a Catherine Wheel.

The stubby manual gearlever is slick and light, if ever so slightly baggy, but I like the interaction of meaty clutch, crisp throttle and reassuring brake pedal.

I wouldn't swap it for the PDK with those confusing paddles they used to fit until we all complained.

Does a 911 need all-wheel drive? Not in the dry, but if a regular Carrera's rear-engined, rear-drive dynamics have you quivering, the C4S is an ideal gateway-drug to the most enduring sports car of all time. Servicing & running costs .

Porsche 911 servicing is based on two-year/20k intervals, alternating between minor (oil/filter swap, pollen filter, £396 at Paragon) and major services (minor, plus air filter, remove rear wheels and discs to clean, adjust handbrake, from £528).

Buying through Paragon or the Porsche Approved Used Scheme ensures upcoming services are performed prior to purchase.

The poly belt that drives ancillaries is checked at the four-year service, replaced for £138 at six. Paragon quotes £599 for front discs, pads and replacing the brake fluid, £597 for the rears.

Audi offers both fixed and flexible TTS servicing. Fixed servicing is suitable for harder use, short city trips and sub-10k annual mileages.

You'll get an oil-change service every 9000 miles or annually (circa £140), an inspection service every 19,000 miles or two-yearly (circa £145). Flexible servicing extends the intervals up to 19,000 miles/two years.

Or try the three-year/30k miles service package. It starts from £16.50 monthly (service costs only), rising to £43.60 (servicing, maintenance, tyres).

Based on a 40-year-old with a speed-camera spidey sense, Adrian Flux Insurance quotes £300 (£250 excess) for the TTS, £344. 50 (£500 excess) the 911. Reliability.

Paragon have experienced the piston bore-score issues that are often cited with 997s, but stress this has been restricted to the 997.1, not the 997.2.

And what of the sudden intermediate-shaft bearing failure that gives owners sleepless nights? Never seen it on a 997.1, they say, and 997.2s don't have one.

Exhaust-flange bolts account for most unscheduled visits – you'll pay £180 for the parts and 1.5 hours' labour to remedy.

A word of warning, however: the air-con condensers and radiators will rot if you don't clear the leaf-mulch that accumulates in the front bumper intakes. You'll pay around £270 plus fitting for each a/c condenser, £252 for radiators.

Clonky top mounts and lower arms are giveaways for worn suspension, and look for lipped brake discs and heavy brake-dust deposits in the cross-drilled brakes, a sign that a potential purchase has been given the spanking the chassis clearly deserves.

The TTS comes with a three-year/60,000-mile warranty, but can be upgraded to four years/75,000 miles for £385, or five years, 90,000 miles for £905.

Popular 911 options included the PDK dual-clutch transmission (£2338 at the time), top-spec PCM sat-nav (£1284), sunroof (£846), Bose sounds (£768), metallic paint (£602), 19-inch alloys (£555), sports seats (£306), universal audio connection (£222) and heated seats (£269).

The Sport Chrono Package Plus (£1259) tweaks throttle response, stability-control intervention and the adjustable shocks, and brings more aggressive PDK mapping. Spot it by the stopwatch on the dash. .

Desirable TT options include 20-inch rims (£850), Bang & Olufsen stereo (£895), cruise control (£295), reversing camera (£450), electric front seats (£995), LED headlights (£945), heated, folding mirrors (£215). Solid paint finishes are no-cost, but all metallic and pearls are £550.

Nappa leather and Virtual Cockpit is standard, but you can upgrade to MMI Navigation Plus with 3D map display, 10GB music storage, voice control, wi-fi hotspot and internet connection at £1795.

Verdict. For arguably the first time in three generations, the Audi TT – fast, poised, involving too – is a proper sports car.

And if you prize cutting-edge design and technology, the kudos of a 15-plate, and a fixed-cost three-year deal, it's the choice for you.

But I'd buy the 911. It offers a significantly more exotic driving experience, all topped off by one of the most charismatic, exciting engines ever created.

Perhaps the best thing about Stuttgart's icon is its ease of use: you want to take a 911 to the shops as much as the track.

The fact that it's likely to hold its value far better than the TT just seals the deal. . Porsche vs Audi: the numbers. £42,000 (2009, 35,000 miles). 3800cc 24v flat-six, 379bhp @ 6500rpm, 310lb ft @ 4400rpm.

'I love the TT's menacing design, but the interior was the deal-maker for me: the way the minimalist lines combine with Virtual Cockpit is second to none.

To the high standard spec I added the technology pack, comfort and sound pack, cruise control and privacy glass. I'd like to tune the car in future, but for now I don't want to lose the warranty safety net.

I opted out of most of Audi's after-sales packages; the car will be serviced by a specialist, the paint protected by a professional detailer. Already looking forward to the Wothersee show next year!' . My Porsche 911 C4S (997).

'Having recently sold my classic 930 Supersport, I was seeking a nice C4S or Turbo 997.

I bought a 997.1 C4S from my local Porsche dealer and was instantly impressed: low miles (42k), fully loaded with £25k of extras and it looked great in Guards Red with full factory Aerokit.

The Turbo body really accentuates the 911 look, and the sports exhaust adds to the sporty sound. I cover around 3000 miles a year and I'm averaging 26-28mpg.'.

Porsche has swapped the Boxster's naturally-aspirated flat-six for a turbocharged flat-four to achieve the holy trinity of more power, lower emissions and enhanced economy. But a a flat-six is an integral part of a Porsche's character.

So if you want a sonorous and melodic Boxster engine howling behind your ears, now's the time.

'The arrival of the 718 is going to do great things for the flat-six models,' says Jason Shepherd from Porsche specialists Paragon. 'If you're looking to invest in a low-miler, now would be a good time.' .

The key thing is to look for top-spec models. The market is knee-deep in baggy high-milers with less than desirable spec – odd colour/trim combos, aftermarket bits, Tiptronic boxes and no-air-con.

They'll be cheap to buy but will be lucky to hold their value.

Top of your shopping list should be the collectable and cherished special editions and limited runs, such as the 550 Spyder, RS60 Spyder and Design Edition models. Then take a look at the S models.

You'll be surprised by how little you'll need to extend your budget to find more rewarding models. You'll love driving one now – and selling it later. 2006 Boxster S 987, 36,800 miles, Manual, FSH, PASM, Sport Chrono Pack £15,995.
