Lexus has readied a limited edition NX F-Sport, called the Black Line, which will arrive at U.S.dealers in February

Pricing starts at $48,575 for the NX 300 F-Sport front-wheel drive version, whereas the all-wheel drive model adds a $1,400 premium

Limited to 1,000 units, the NX Black Line features lower body side graphics and forged 19-inch alloy wheels

Customers will have to choose between three exterior colors called Ultra White, Obsidian and Atomic Silver

Unique to this NX are the Arctic White and Black seats, and the Mark Levinson premium sound system, with 14 speakers

Elsewhere, the SUV gets a black headliner, unique floor mats and cargo mat, in addition to a selection of standard items, such as the 10.3-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Enform Wi-Fi, with 4GB of space included for the first year

The Comfort Package is standard and adds heated and ventilated front seats, moonroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror, electric tailgate, Blind Spot Monitor, Intuitive Parking Assist and tilt/telescoping steering column

Active Sound Control, which plays the engine note through the speakers, and the Lexus Safety System+ bundle of driving assistance features, are also included

The NX Black Line Edition will premiere at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show next Thursday, alongside the LC Inspiration Series that was unveiled online this week, possibly accompanied by other vehicles made by Toyota's luxury brand

Lexus Admit They Are Considering A High-Performance SUV - Duration: 1:55.

Lexus likes to look at itself as a rival to the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi

However, its family of models is nowhere near as extensive and it lacks a single high-performance SUV to fight those of its German competitors

This, however, could change.During an interview with Motor1 prior to the 24 Hours of Daytona last weekend, Lexus vice president for product planning and strategy, Cooper Ericksen, said that the Japanese automaker is indeed considering such a model

According to Ericksen, one of the most important things Lexus is trying to determine is what form a high-performance Lexus SUV could take

"[What] we're currently trying to figure out is [if] the on-road performance aspect [is] more important [for Lexus] to invest in than the off-road performance

" Performance-focused SUVs from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Jaguar, typically place a priority on road performance at the sacrifice of off-roading abilities

In all likelihood, Lexus would go down a similar route with a go-faster version of one of its high-riding models

As for what would be the most likely Lexus SUV model to get such a version, that remains unknown but the UX, RX, and LX are all possible candidates, but if we had to choose we'd lean more towards the RX to bring the fight to the X5 M and GLE 63 AMG
