How to replace oil filter and engine oil on FORD FOCUS 2 (DA) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC] - Duration: 4:19.

Required tools: All-purpose cleaning spray

Oil filter cup socket 76-30F Impact socket №10 Impact socket №13

Ratchet wrench Torque wrench Flat screwdriver

Oil drain pan Funnel Fender cover

1. Unscrew the oil filler plug.

2. Set the car at the service pit or lift it with a hoist.

AUTODOC recommends: The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.

All work should be done with the engine stopped.

3. Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover.

4. Remove the oil pan cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a flat screwdriver. Use a ratchet wrench.

5. Put a waste oil container with at least 4 l capacity under the drainage hole.

6. Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. Drain the used oil.

AUTODOC recommends: Caution! The oil may be hot. Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.

7. Move the container under the oil filter.

8. Unscrew the oil filter.

9. Prepare a container for the old oil filter. Put the old oil filter in the container.

AUTODOC recommends: Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.

10. Clean the oil filter seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

11. Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.

12. Screw the new filter into its place. Use the 76-30F socket. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 nm torque.

13. Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.

14. Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #13.

Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 27 nm torque.

15. Reinstall the oil pan lower cover. Tighten the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover.

Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.

16. Unscrew the oil filler plug. Insert the funnel.

17. Pour oil into the engine through the filler. Required amount of oil: 3.7 L.

AUTODOC recommends: Use the oil recommended by the manufacturer.

18. Check the oil level using the dipstick. Top up oil if necessary.

Please note! The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.

19. Tighten the oil filler cap.

20. Run the engine for a few minutes. After the oil pressure warning light goes out, stop the engine.

21. Check the oil level 5 minutes after the stop of the engine operation using a dipstick and add oil if necessary.

Please note! The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.

AUTODOC recommends: Make sure that the oil filler cap is properly tightened.

Check the threaded plug of the drainage hole and the oil filter seal for tightness. If necessary, carefully tighten them up.

Note that oil pressure warning light, which indicates insufficient pressure in the lubrication system, may be on for a longer time than usual.

After a few seconds, the oil will fill all the channels, and the light will go out.

Vice Hydraulic transmission jack Wheel chock

1. Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.

2. Unscrew the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. AUTODOC recommends: To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.

3. Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

4. Clean the fasteners of the shock absorber upper mount. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

5. Unscrew the shock absorber mount fastening. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.

6. Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

7. Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a tap wrench.

AUTODOC recommends: To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts.

8. Remove the shock absorber.

9. Grip the shock absorber in a vice.

10. Clean the shock absorber rod fastener.Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

11. Remove the shock absorber piston rod fastening. Use a combination spanner #13.

12. Remove the shock absorber mount, boot and bump stop.

AUTODOC recommends: Τhoroughly examine the shock absorber mount, dust boot, bump stop. Replace them if necessary.Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.

13. Install the mount, boot and bump stop onto a new shock absorber.

14. Fix the shock absorber mount. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13.

Use a torque wrench. Use an adjustable wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque.

15. Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

16. Release the vice and take out the shock absorber.

17. Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.

18. Install the shock absorber mount using the center hole as a guide.

AUTODOC recommends: To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber cautiously tight when screwing in the fastening bolts.

19. Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

20. Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 90 Nm torque.

21. Tighten the shock absorber mount fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.

22. Remove the support from under the rear arm.

23. Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.

24. Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.

AUTODOC recommends: To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.

25. Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.

Despite its small displacement, the turbocharged unit pumps out 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the ST to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7seconds and reach a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph)

Standing next to it is the MINI Cooper S.TopGear brought the 33 kg (73 lbs) heavier five-door model against the three-door Fiesta ST

The Cooper S has a 2.0-liter turbo that has an extra cylinder compared to its challenger

Nevertheless, it is slightly down on power, as it makes 192 PS (189 hp / 141 kW), and puts out a bit extra torque, at 300 Nm (221 lb-ft), which translates into a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of 6.9seconds (6.8sec in the 3-door) and a 235 km/h (146 mph) top speed

On paper, the balance tilts in favor of the Fiesta ST, which is both lighter and more powerful than the Cooper S

But do these small differences make any difference in the real world? Only one way to find out
