Mazda currently has three SUVs (the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9) and three cars (the Mazda3, Mazda6, and MX-5) on sale in the United States

Its range will, however, be expanded with a couple of new crossovers.One of them will debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on March 5

It was teased last week and it appears that it's either the 2020 CX-3 or the CX-4 coupe-SUV, with the balance tilting in favor of the latter

The CX-4 has been available in China since 2016, and when they first unveiled it, officials said that they're weighing in the possibility of introducing it in global markets

Besides launching it in Europe later this year, Mazda will also sell it in the United States, AutoNews learned while speaking to the brand's North America CEO, Masahiro Moro, during the 2019 Chicago Auto Show

The exec didn't disclose details about its U.S.launch, but it will eventually be followed by yet another SUV

This one will be built at the new assembly plant in Huntsville, Alabama, and was "exclusively designed for the North American market"

It will be a different product from the rumored CX-4, although the two models will share some nuts and bolts

Nonetheless, we can surmise that it will be a while until Mazda commences sales of the yet-unnamed crossover

The factory it will be built in will be inaugurated in 2021, so the vehicle is not coming our way any time soon

Nevertheless, the world will take a first look at it much sooner, as Mazda is currently finalizing a concept that should give us a taste of the production version
