Hi all!
I took advantage of the rare opportunity to find DN1 in optimum conditions (both road and traffic)
to show you the evolution of average consumption,
starting the cold engine, going up to Sinaia and back home.
The car is equipped with winter tires.
I tried to drive as "normal" as possible.
This means for me the legal speed (+ 9km / h)
keeping up with the cars in front,
except for the (I think) 3 zones
between Posada and Sinaia with 2 lanes
where you can overcome the slower cars.
A few minutes to clear windows,
2 red lights
and 1Km average can scare you,
30.1 l/100km!
We enter DN1 and consumption starts to drop,
after 21 km we had an average of
10.8l/100km.
Continue with the cruise control engaged
and after 46km the consumption is
9.1l/100km.
Although it is followed by a
busy mountain with many curves
we reach Sinaia with an average of 8.8l/100km.
We start the way home and, as you expect,
the consumption starts to drop rapidly,
at Comarnic we already had 7.9l/100km.
Drive relaxed on DN1
and look at the value shown by the onboard computer:
7.4l/100km.
At the end of the trip, the average consumption was
7.3l/100km.
Under the same traffic conditions and speed,
with Nexen summer tires, the average was somewhere at
6.7l/100km.
And now a few comments.
The 1.6 T-GDI engine consumes a lot of fuel
until it reaches operating temperature,
which penalizes city consumption over short distances.
By making the calculations, "uphill" the average consumption was
8.8l/100km,
and "downhill" was only 5.8l/100km,
you see how simple it is
to present convenient but real-time values.
Thanks for watching!
