Welcome, today I will show you how to start engine
in 49cc Mini Moto
this is PS 50 Rocket Sport
Pocket Bike
in this video I will explain
step by step what you need to do to start the engine for the first time
how to prepare fuel mixture
how to set all switches
how to start it properly
in the last video I show you how to assemble the bike
this bike is already properly assembled
air pressure in the wheels is correct, chain is properly adjusted
brakes are adjusted
so this bike is ready to be started for the first time
we will start from the fuel
ofcourse it is 2 stroke engine
so we need to mix
petrol (unleaded)
with 2 T Oil
Here we have semisyntetic
oil to 2 stroke engines
with the bike we get mixing bottle
On the bottle, I hope you can see it
we have on each side different signs
on one side there are signs how to mix 20:1
on the other side
there are signs how to mix 25:1
we will be mixing fuel in the ratio 25:1
this is correct mixing ratio for this pocketbike
so as you can see we need to fill the bottle with petrol up to this mark here
and then top up with oil
up to this long mark on the top
lets mix the fuel, here we have clean unleaded 95
the fuel is
up to the first mark
we will place the bottle on the even surface
and add the oil up to the long line mark
is perfect now
we put away oil
and the gas
we will close the mixing bottle
and shake it well to make sure oil will well mix petrol
the fuel is ready now, we can add it in to the tank
remove the cap from the tank
and add the fuel
I do not advice to fill the tank in full for the first time
it's enough
to fill the tank with aprox 200ml of fuel
aprox half of this mixing bottle
for this reason that sometimes
fuel may leak from the carburetor when the bike is new
float will get stock in the carb
and we then get large leak
if we put less then in case of any leak
it will go less fuel on the ground
fuel is already in the tank
we put the tank cap back
if you fill the tank
up to the full
remember to place hose on breather on the top of the fuel cap
or it will split fuel all around the tank
fuel is in the tank
now we check all the switches
this bike has no ignition key
so we do not need to turn ON the ignition
the only switch we need to check
is this one here
it is actually OFF switch
lets check if the switch is not stock in
here it moves properly
so it's ok, and we have here kill switch
we need to remember
that kill switch must be placed well to start the engine
if the kill switch is missing the engine won't start
now
we check the carburetor
in this bike is not a standard carburetor
it is a 15mm carburetor
this one here is much better then standard one
and the choke in this carburetor works other side then in the standard one
here is the choke lever
and this choker in DOWN position
is ON
and this postion we start the bike on the cold engine
so when we push the lever down it will stop in this position
and to release
we need to push the lever in to forward position
and the lever will go back to UP position
and in this position choke must be when the engine is already warm
so to start the engine for the first time
we push the choke lever in to DOWN position
the lever will stop in this position and we are ready to start the engine for the first time
I will start the bike in the garage, for the video purpose
but you should always start the bike
on the open air always
as the smoke can be dangerous to your health
the bike is ready now for it first start, we move it on the floor
and we will try to start it
remove the stand
correct position for starting
place your right knee on the seat to hold the bike
place left hand on the throttle
so you can twist it littlebit if needed while pulling
here we have easy pull start
so we do not need to pull strong/agresive, just pull slowly
and spring inside pull start will turn the engine it self
ok lets pull
the engine started very well
it is dying right now
as we need to turn OFF the choke
now we need to push the choke lever in to forward position
and then it will go up it self, then we start the engine again
get position
bike started really well
now we need to adjust engine idle settings on the carburetor
this one has the idle speed to high
we can feel that bike is want go it self
it means the clutch is littlebit open
so here on the carburetor we have screw with the spring
when we turn this screw in to left position
we reduce engine idle speed
we need to set the engine idle speed
to be as low as possible
now we start the bike again
you can adjust idle speed while engine is running... it can take time to set the idle speed correct
warm the engine littlebit
make sure the wheel is not turning when the engine is running on the idle speed, this can damage the clutch
take a time to properly adjust idle speed of the engine, it is very important to set it properly
don't be worry about smoke coming from the exchaust, it is 2 stroke engine so it is smokey and you will also see oil coming of the exchaust it is normal
now engines idle speed is properly adjusted
engine is warmed up
it is also properly adjusted
now we will check the switches, we have just checked one
we will start the bike again
we check the kill switch to make sure is working
kill switch is also working so the bike is ready for the first ride
we can also check
if they are any fuel leaks after first start
sometimes fuel may leak
here where hose connect to the tank
rarely where hose connect with carburetor
here is no leaks
all is ok, bike is ready for it test ride
after first ride I recommend
to check the chain
as it will stretch and will require to be adjusted
