Arsenal fan Piers Morgan says the apocalypse is nigh after Tottenham beat Real Madrid 3-1
Mauricio Pochettino's side bounced back from the disappointment of a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United as the north London side dominated the Spanish champions at Wembley.
Dele Alli broke the deadlock, stealing in to poke the ball over the line, after Harry Winks and Kieran Trippier combined to unlock the Real Madrid defence.
Spurs extended their lead in the second half courtesy of Alli's deflected strike with 34 minutes left on the clock. Tottenham wrapped up three points soon after when Harry Kane teed up Christian Eriksen who slotted a calm finish past Kiko Casilla.
"I wish we had your manager, most of your team & your style" Piers Morgan And outspoken Gunners fan Morgan was predictably downbeat about watching Arsenal's bitter rivals ease to a resounding victory.
Morgan wrote on Twitter: "Spurs destroying Real Madrid at Wembley.
The Apocalypse is upon us." The former journalist has been resolute in his demands to see Arsene Wenger sacked, and he engaged with Spurs fans on the social media network after the match.
Sadly, your lot [Tottenham] were sensational, he tweeted to a fan. I wish we had your manager, most of your team & your style..
How many Arsenal players would get into these Spurs or City teams? The answer is so depressing I wish I hadn't asked the question, he said to another.
Arsenal are in action in the Europa League tomorrow night against Red Star Belgrade at the Emirates (805pm). But its the much-awaited North London derby between the Gunners and Pochettinos side in just over two weeks that most supporters will be anticipating.
