I really wanted my TV to be smart.
But not too smart.
You know with 2 small kids running around,
I don't really have time for cluttered menus or TVs with too many features.
And it's at that stage where I where I just want a TV to be easy.
And my Philips TV is exacly that.
Yeah it has everything you'd expect from a smart TV these days, It's just very easy to use.
I mean the home screen is very straightforward.
With just few clicks I get access to all my favourite apps
and you know the so intuitive dashboard, that even my children can figure it out.
So it's great.
That's not the only thing I love . I mean thanks to 4K, everything is just so real.
The picture is crystal clear, the colours are natural, the motion is flawless
It's like the action is happening right here in the room.
I'd say it is great value for money.

What I love most about it is the rich quality of 4K.
The colours, the contrast…
I mean, It's not like I'm a tech geek. But I do love watching my movies and my series online.
I don't have a lot of time for myself especially since we had the kids.
So I just wanted a TV that I could watch I wanted to whenever I want it.
With the kids buget is important. I'm always looking for a good deal
and I just felt like the Philips 6703 was exactly that.
The Ambilight is a truly great experience.
First of all makes the TV way bigger than it already is,
and it makes watching TV so much more immersive.
Yeah it's just 3 clicks and I have acces to all my favourite apps and shows.
And it's not too complicated, I can even use it when I'm focussing on other things.

Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Review - The Ultimate Review - Duration: 9:59.
Donnie: Okay, I know it sounds kind of nerdy, but I've wanting to do toothbrush reviews
for quite some time.
Why?
Because I've been using toothbrushes for a long time.
And before we kick off today's content, please make sure to hit that red subscribe button
so that way you can subscribe to The Japan Guy channel.
And also make sure to hit that notification bell so you can find out when new content
comes out each and every week.
Alright, let's get to it.
Wait a minute.
Hopefully I've been using toothbrushes for a long time.
What I meant to say is that I've been using electric toothbrushes for a very long time.
Actually, the first toothbrush that I brought was back in 1999, maybe even early 2000.
But well over a decade, and the very first toothbrush I brought was in fact a Sonicare.
I'm going to say it was a Sonicare Elite.
So I think it's only fitting that my first big review be about a Sonicare.
And the reason I'm making this video in the first place is because of this guy.
So the current brush that I'm using, or was using, is the Sonicare FlexCare, and for some
reason something happened with the rod that's in the top of my Sonicare, and it's not vibrating
the way that it normally should, and I'm not getting a really good brush.
It's almost like I'm not feeling the tension when I'm brushing so I had two options, I
could either send this back and try to get it fixed, which would take time and energy,
or I could just upgrade.
And since I've been using this for three or four years maybe, I just decided to go ahead
and go up to the next model.
So what model are we going to be reviewing today?
If you clicked this video you probably already know,
but I have upgraded to ...
That's the drum roll sound.
... the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart.
And for those you ... See this, this a lot of Japanese writing on this box.
Reason is I actually live in Tokyo.
Have for quite some time.
But hopefully if you're watching this there'll be a comparable model should you be interested
in getting one yourself.
And now it's time to ask the question ...
What's in the box?
Donald: Now that you know what's inside the box, I'm going to try to do this
in one minute or less if I can, but I'm going to tell you all the features of the toothbrush itself.
Let's work our way from the bottom of the brush up.
So at the base of the DiamondClean Smart there is a light indicator which lets you know when
you're brushing too hard.
So when I'm brushing, if I use too much pressure, this light will flash, and I'll be able to
see it right in the mirror.
At the base of the brush there is a battery indicator that lets you know how you're doing
for charge.
And you have your five different modes, which are clean, white plus, gum health, deep clean
plus and tongue care.
And the button that I was just pressing serves two functions.
So on the DiamondClean Smart when it's off, powered off, this toggles between your different
modes.
When it's powered on, this toggles your different intensities.
So you have your highest intensity level, low and medium.
That of course is the power button.
And as we work our way up to the brush head, every brush head comes with a plastic case,
we'll just remove that for now, with the exception of the tongue cleaner, no case on the tongue
cleaner.
But when we take this off, this is your rod and the rod vibrates really fast.
That's how you get so many brush strokes with the Sonicare DiamondClean or any of the Sonicares
actually.
And on your toothbrush head itself, all DiamondClean Smart heads have this little mark on them.
That wifi mark lets you know that inside of this brush there's a chip, and that chip is
how your toothbrush connects to the app on your phone.
So that way you can know exactly how you're doing, and where you're brushing.
And that pretty much wraps it up.
Took a little longer than a minute, didn't it?
Sorry.
How much does the DiamondClean Smart cost?
Per the Philips Sonicare website it ranges from about $229 to $329, just depending on
the package that you buy.
Let's briefly talk about some of the pros and the cons of the DiamondClean Smart.
In the interest of time we're going to talk about two things that I really like about
this toothbrush, and two things that I don't like about it so much.
And we're going to limit this to features that are unique to the Sonicare DiamondClean
Smart.
One of the things that I really like about the DiamondClean Smart is that it clearly
lets you know when you're brushing too hard, and it does it in two ways.
First way is the pressure sensor on the brush head.
Hear the change in sound?
So that's a very clear audible signal that you're brushing too hard, but that is not
unique to the DiamondClean Smart.
I like the DiamondClean Smart because you can see it too, so if I'm pressing too hard,
that purple light will flash.
So it's a very clear visual cue that you're brushing too hard.
And for those of you who are culprits of over-brushing, like me, I think this is essential.
The second thing I like about the DiamondClean Smart is the app that it connects to on your
phone.
Now I think this is Sonicare's first hack at a toothbrushing app, so it isn't perfect,
and I just wanted to say that straight up, but it's something that will develop and will
get better over time.
And I think the implications behind it are huge, so it's a great way to find out where
and how you're brushing, and it's a great way to keep track of your dental hygiene,
and most importantly, it's a great way for you to show your dental health care professional
what you're doing, and they can better assist you and let you know what things you can do
to improve your dental hygiene.
And now for my two dislikes.
The first one for me with the DiamondClean Smart, it's got to be toothbrush heads, guys.
I think they're over-priced.
Feels like toothbrush heads with Sonicares get more and more expensive.
And I don't know if the extra cost is justified.
So for example the gum care brush, I don't even use it.
I don't necessarily think you need it.
When you go to a dental office to get a cleaning done, and they use their professional-grade
hand tool, they don't have a hundred different pieces for that thing.
They have one type of brush head, and, sure, if it wears down they replace it, but they
don't have so many different brush heads.
They clean you with that same type of tool every time, and then they just floss you up
at the end.
Now if you got rid of that brush, that would save money.
And I really just stick to the standard brush and the tongue cleaner, because I think that's
great too.
But I don't think all of the brushes are necessary.
That's one issue.
And my last dislike, or con, about the DiamondClean Smart is the case.
I think they took a step back with this case.
The DiamondClean's traveling case was amazing, was great, and the USB was right there on
the side, you could just plug it straight in, boom, easy.
This one, you've got this little piece that flips off that can get lost and it's just
a little bit more cumbersome.
It's still not bad, I like the USB aspect of it, but, yeah, they need to go back to
the old case.
Time to wrap this one up, guys.
So if I had to give the DiamondClean Smart a grade ranging from A to F,
"A" being excellent and "F" being a failure, like the grades you got in school,
I would give it a very solid B+.
I wouldn't say it's the best toothbrush out there, but it's a great toothbrush if you're
serious about your dental hygiene.
Well, that's it from me today, guys, and I'll catch you on the next review.
Bye.
Donnie: And if you haven't already, guys, please don't forget to comment, share, like
and subscribe.
Til next time.

DIY Wi-Fi Smart Scale - Duration: 2:27.
Wi-Fi Smart Scale
In this video I show how I built a DIY scale with wi-fi connectivity
It measures the weight...
displays it locally...
and send it on the cloud!
In this project I used an ESP8266 Firebeetle
It has a built-in Wi-Fi module, several I/O pins and a battery connector
Pins were soldered for the connection with other devices
This way, it's possible to connect other peripherals on both sides of the board
I used a 24x8 LED matrix from DFRobot
Soldered pins allow it to work as a shield for the ESP8266 module
This way, the display is easily connected to the ESP8266 board
A HX711 module was used for the interface between the ESP8266 and the load sensors
Male pins were soldered under that circuit board for the connection to the microcontroller
It's really easy to upload a code to the ESP8266 using Arduino IDE
A sample code was uploaded to test the functionalities of the display
I printed case for the electronics
The first part took me around 3h, printed with 0.2mm resolution and no supports
The front cover took around 30 minutes, with 0.2mm and no supports
Four foots were printed for housing the load sensors
They fit inside that part, and were later screwed to the wooden base
The boards were attached to the front cover 3d printed part with some M2 bolts
A jumper wire was connected between the ESP8266 board and the HX711 module
The front cover fits into the case
Two wooden panels with approximatelly 30x30 cm were used for the base
Four load sensors were attached to the first wooden panel
The case was also attached with some screws
Some holes on the panel allow sensors' cables to cross the wooden panel to the other side
They were soldered and connected to the circuit
A second wooden panel cover the wires
The code was programmed on Arduino IDE and uploaded to the ESP board
In this project I used IFTTT app
Measured data is send to Adafruit.io
IFTTT service checks for new data, and send it to iOS Health or Fitbit server
The scale senses a change in weight and starts to measure
Average weight is displayed
And synced with the server
Please click 'like' button
And subscribe to the channel
