May, 26th, SmartTaler, the city of Minsk. Leveling up knowledge of cryptocurrencies.
Integration of blockchain technology into different areas. Upgrading people's competence in the field of fintech.
Let's go and learn more.
- This is Evgeny Romanenko, the iTuber channel host. Good afternoon, Evgeny!
- Hello. - What has inspired you to get to visit this conference?
- First of all, I actually myself come from the Republic of Belarus. The HTP becomes the epicenter of the things happening in the world of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and Belarusian IT in general.
Today it's on a roll. So, it's just impossible not being here today, even though there are 2 events in Minsk today (it is not every day that such coincidences occur).
Nevertheless, I made my best to come here in the first turn.
- So, you are Belarusian, but you live in Russia, Moscow now, right?
- Actually, borders are blending now, I'm a citizen of the two states. I know Belarus very well, I studied and worked here.
And I'm glad that after ten years I came back here.
And from here I am looking at the way the Belarusian crypto industry is developing, and experiencing great emotion. I didn't believe it was possible.
- How do you think, at which level is the knowledge of cryptocurrencies in Belarus?
- I know very well what is going on in the country. I can see the generation that occurred and has grown up, and which is not "burdened" with the "heritage of the nineties", and it is absorbing the knowledge.
- Because it represents modern technologies. And it is interesting.
- Absolutely right. Grown up people are, naturally, the most advanced. For instance, the banker which is presenting his speech right now.
He understands that this is the future. Most people, certainly, have not realized where the country is "drifting".
May be this is kind of good. Let the most progressive and IT youth, which is, thankfully, is the "driver" of the Belarusian economy nowadays, move the country forward.
- This is Alexander. He also came from Russia. He is a representative of Zen. Please, tell us, what are you going to talk about during your speech at the conference today?
- At this conference I will give a small "entry" lecture about blockchain. I'll talk about what blockchain is. Also I will tell the audience about public blockchains, what decentralization is, why it is needed, and how to create decentralized management systems.
- So, as you are here with a topic about blockchain, you might believe that people aren't much familiar with what blockchain is, right?
- Frankly speaking, I've been to many places, and in general people are divided in two kinds of types.
Those who are already active in this industry and know everything; they are "tuned in". And those who come for the first time, they don't know anything. I am targeted at them: to educate them, to explain to them.
- So, you raise their knowledge level from the ground?
- I wouldn't say it like this: from the ground. Anyways, some knowledge of economy, IT is needed. But special knowledge isn't needed.
- Are you going to feel nervous if anyone will like to ask you a question?
- Not really. - So, you are accustomed to being asked questions.
- I am an open person, the project is open. Nothing to hide. We often do not know answers to some questions, and we are not afraid to admit it.
- Is this the first time you've come to the conference in Belarus? - This is my first time in Minsk, and the second in Belarus. Yes, this is my first time at a conference in Minsk.
- Oleg, as long as I know, you are a co-organiser of this conference.
- Yes, that's true. DASH, along with the HTP and kv.by, is the organizer of this conference.
- How difficult was it to organize this conference and how did the idea of this occurred at all?
- First of all, I would like to say, that the idea occurred after we visited similar conferences in Moscow, Kyiv and St-Petersburg.
We wanted to bring to our country knowledge about blockchain and cryptocurrency.
- The conference is targeted at it, right?
- Right, the conference is targeted at it. The second undoubted premise is the following. The idea of conducting such an event under DASH guidance was positively perceived by the DASH community.
The Masternodes owners approved the idea of holding the event. Thus, basically, thanks to their decision, this conference is taking place today in Minsk.
- There is "Russian-language DASH" at the conference, as far as I understand.
- Yes. This was the main purpose, as any of us is working in the framework of different cities, different countries.
We wanted so much to make this conference a platform where all the DASH projects that are implemented on the territory of the CIS countries, will be presented.
Thus, today we have seen here a marketing agency MGcom, presented by Maxim Popov. The agency is making an advertising campaign for DASH in the Russian-language segment.
There is also Helena Besedina at the conference, who will present a speech in the framework of a panel discussion.
She is a representative, a member of the "DASH people" team, who actively brings to the Russian-speaking segment interviews and knowledge from foreign developers and marketing experts of DASH.
Alexey Gusev is also present at the conference, he is a coordinator of the Russian-speaking community of DASH. He is our, let's say, leader, who helps us with the organization and management of our projects.
He always shares with us some advice, assistance. Such mutual cooperation is very pleasant.
- Is there going to be any similar conference in future on the territory of the Republic of Belarus?
- I think, definitely, yes. Though for now we are planning to hold such conferences in Kyiv or St-Petersburg, but we will definitely come back to Belarus as long as some legislative basis occurs.
The Decree number 8 has been passed. Now we are awaiting the continuation of this Decree in the form of juridical documents that will allow understanding the situation with cryptocurrencies and blockchain in Belarus.
And then, probably, it will become more useful. For example, at this conference, we again became partners with three platforms that are planning to accept DASH as a method of payment.
Today we have become partners with the first "crypto-school" in Belarus. We have been invited to present information about DASH there.
- You are talking about CryptoExpert, right? - Yes! The crypto-school is by CryptoExpert.
And I think that passing the legislation will even more facilitate the development of the blockchain technology in Belarus. And this means, it will attract new companies, collaboration with which will be interesting for DASH.
- As long as I know, Belarus is one of the countries that are quite loyal to the cryptocurrency.
- That's right, our country is in "TOP-10". There is a rating of the loyalty towards the cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects. For now, Belarus is on the tenth position there.
- So, DASH will, let's say, "advance" the crypto-world in Belarus, push it to the Belarusian people?
- DASH as well. Today it could have been seen that the DASH stand at the conference was a point of attraction.
People approached, asked questions. Today we've held "contest": around 200 hundreds of DASH wallets were installed. I think that this will keep on going like this in future.
It would be nice if such movement started not only in Minsk, but also in region capitals. Maybe, in the nearest future, we are planning to conduct some DASH meet ups.
Those won't be in the form of conferences, so, may be, there will be less people presented. But we would love to reach each major Belarusian city: Brest, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Grodno, and hold a series of meet ups to attract even more attention to the comfortable payment service of DASH.
- So, let's say, those are plans of the DASH company?
- Well, it can be said so. At least, those are for sure the plans of the Territory of DASH for the nearest future.
