Urban areas worldwide are suffering from increasing congestions, air pollution and noisy environments – especially in cities.

One contributing factor is the transport need.

Billions of tons of goods are transported all over Europe every day.

Now the Swedish Truck Company Volvo Trucks shows that electric trucks can supply a more sustainable solution to the everyday requirements of the transport sector and society – with a new fully Electric Truck.

At the world premiere in Gothenburg Volvo Trucks claims to be the first global manufacturer to offer an electric series produced truck to a customer.

"We believe that the technologies matures today already when it comes to the performance and the range and the weight for this type of applications that we present today for city use.

This is a refuse truck but also for city distribution. And we believe that this is the future."

Because of urbanization politicians have to improve urban planning and transports – electromobility will pave the way for new solutions.

"With the first electric truck there should be a lot of opportunities to put down the pollution problem now.

So I think the electrification is here to stay and I have big hope for Gothenburg but also for the environmental issues globally actually."

Volvo Trucks-CEO Claes Nilsson has announced to start sales and series production of the Volvo FL Electric in 2019.

But the first trucks are already entering regular operation in Gothenburg – such as this refuse truck for a local waste collection company.

An important step for even bigger tasks to come.

Volvo Trucks - Can cities be quieter and cleaner with electric trucks? - Duration: 5:50.

Urban areas worldwide are suffering from jammed motorways, air pollution and noisy environments – but especially in cities.

One contributing factor is the transport need.

Billions of tons of goods are transported all over Europe every day. Online purchasing and just-in-time delivery is increasing every day.

A logistical system under maximum pressure due to tight just-in-time schedules. Transport providers and truck manufacturers face a major challenge to change this.

Now the Swedish Truck Company Volvo Trucks shows that electric trucks can supply a more sustainable solution to the everyday requirements of the transport sector and society – with a new fully Electric Truck.

At the world premiere in Gothenburg Volvo Trucks claims to be the first global manufacturer to offer an electric series produced heavy duty truck to a customer.

"We believe that the technologies matures today already when it comes to the performance and the range and the weight for this type of applications that we present today for city use.

This is a refuse truck but also for city distribution. And we believe that this is the future."

Trucks applications in cities are many and varied to keep city life running from daily delivery to shops and warehouses, transports for removals, construction work or refuse collection.

The challenge: Transport plays a major and vital role in cities, both in bringing relevant goods to relevant places and not to pollute these areas at the same time.

Because of urbanization politicians have to improve urban planning and transports - electromobility will pave the way for new solutions.

"With the first electric truck there should be a lot of opportunities to put down the pollution problem now.

So I think the electrification is here to stay and I have big hope for Gothenburg but also for the environmental issues globally actually."

The global community is following the progress within electro-mobility. There is a considerable and growing interest in electric trucks.

Let´s have a closer look: What can the new Volvo FL Electric really achieve?

The FL Electric is a two axle 18 tonne heavy duty truck.

The conventional driveline is replaced with a full electric driveline and energy storage system, the manufacturer explained to international trade journalists at the introduction.

The driveline consists of a small but powerful electrical motor with 185 Kilowatts peak power and 130 Kilowatts in continuous power.

"What's interesting is that the size of this driveline for such a large vehicle is actually not much larger than smaller conventional combustion engine for a passenger car.

We can specify the vehicle with different battery capacity depending on the needs of the customer.

Because our philosophy is that we should not but more batteries than required. Both from a cost perspective, from a payload perspective but also from a sustainability perspective.

What we can do is we can fit between hundred and 300 kwh which in ideal conditions gives a range up to 300 km."

Not only range is an important question.

The ElectriCity-project in Gothenburg is one example how to bring together the experience of industry, research and society in the development and testing of solutions for next-generation sustainable transport.

A bus route offers quiet, exhaust-free buses that pick up passengers indoors and are powered by electricity from renewable sources.

This and the experience of more than 4.000 electrified buses have influenced also into the development of the new electric truck.

But can electrical vehicles really change modern urban traffic?

"This truck - as it is quiet - you can use it during night time without disturbing sleeping citizens.

And of course if you do transportations during night hours instead of during the day you offload the peak hours in terms of congestions that's a big benefit for a city."

Volvo Trucks President Claes Nilsson has announced to start sales and series production of the Volvo FL Electric in 2019.

The holistic view is crucial for a global manufacturer in order to continuously finding new ways to reduce the environmental footprint of the transport industry.

And looking forward there will not be one solution for all kind of transports.

That's why there are also LNG driven trucks, powered by liquefied natural gas, as an alternative to diesel, to reduce emissions.

For example the Volvo FH LNG emits 20 percent less CO2 than a regular one.

This shows how transports can be more sustainable – both for the environment and for the businesses.

And it is not only about technology: It is important that cities, energy suppliers, infrastructure providers and vehicle manufacturers co-operate.

This is the only way to make large-scale electro-mobility reality.

The first trucks are already entering regular operation in Gothenburg – such as this electric refuse truck for a local waste collection company.

An important step for even bigger tasks to come.

Replacing the front springs Volvo S60, S80. - Duration: 11:08.

Hello dear friends today we have a machine volvo s60 and

replacing front springs for

implementation of this operation, we need to remove the wheel then remove the traction stabilizer lateral stability

drop cable holder that goes on the abs sensor then the front is released

Unscrew 2 nuts and pull out the screws on the rotary fist open the hood on top of the glass Unscrew three nuts and

pull out the rack Assembly

dear friends I would like to draw your attention to the fact that species

offers to do here, stood here on this machine here, the hole is almost exactly the same but there are cars where here

knuckle oval and you can do camber and therefore kind of offers I'll show

Vida offers to make a measurement but when I work with an unfamiliar machine I'm usually here

do a scratch or

marker can be and

then put in it's place

here we all released we pass to the top

so dear friends on this machine stand is already in poor condition

jerks and tremors of her present but it does not work shock this all to him and fly on

fortunately I had a "saxowsky" attenuators are gently used they have me already are probably more than a year

there to change on the machine on which they were little here they are in the stretch

stand stock

stretches up is committed to lifting up those dampers and put

in General, I want to say that when you

decides to change the spring ideally, ideally, this change together with racks

because the difference will immediately feel the difference will be very big in the car but since this machine was specifically given the task

to change only the springs the strut is not purchased but put gently used

wow what it that she pulls straight pulls itself up but it is a living working Desk will put these racks

the rest of the pribambasy all intact and very good condition only need to clean and continue

need to move to a new rack a new rack conventionally, a fastener for the cable to the abs sensor

knock out the old rivets on

the old stand here is the hardware in General is performed

in the form of an ordinary clamp such that clamp was apparently not wanted and

we will zamorochka

stand ready to install

definitely a drop of sealant

tighten the rack with a force of five hundred Newtons per meter and then decrotive 60 degrees

how to make it to 60 degrees right

it's very simple we have a bolt or nut in General we have a hexagon and

every the brink of their 6 units so as have us the circle 360 degrees

the length of one of the faces is 60 degrees that is

pull off need to

length of one face

I roughly see where the line is and

on this place we are posing

the following line

here we have the torque at 60 degrees occurred

so now one more time now here I will show here

so here on this side will try to show you

how to put a cable holder that goes on the abs sensor

I sometimes have to see strange things start to stick and

screwdrivers fuck it all here cone surface

insert and

we stretch everything

no effort and he stands still he dresses himself easily

now we have to wear the so-called bone

thrust of the stabilizer bar

machine we will lift and Jack just have to imitate the suspension not to get close

we have a nut tightened with a force of 50 Newtons but here I Dynamo the key is not to get

although in principle it does not scroll, why not try

well all remove the Jack from under the suspension

check all fasteners are all good everything is in place everything is very beautiful

I would also like to draw your attention to one point

after removal of a rack the rotary fist is better to fix a wire or a rope that it did not deviate strongly outside.

this is done in order to avoid trouble with the drive or its inner part

well dear friends, this repair came to an end all the best and see you soon
