The 2018 Kona is Hyundai's entry into the small SUV market.
It features some of the familiar stylings from its older siblings while offering some
new details that may hint at the future of Hyundai.
The exterior features a new unique grill featuring a mesh like pattern.
This mesh pattern repeats itself on a lot of the front fascia's accents.
The distinct headlights feature a disconnected concept where super thin LED driving lights
sit several inches away from the highbeams.
The fog beams sit to either side of the lower mesh grille.
\par The rear of the vehicle also features that
disconnected concept.
With low profile lights sitting above larger tail lamps.
Under the hood the Kona has two available engine options; a 147 horsepower 2.0L Atkinson
engine as well as a 175 horse power 1.6L Turbo GDI engine.
Offering 33 mpg highway and 27 mpg city.
Depending on the trim level the Kona sits on 16", 17" or 18" alloy wheels.
The higher trim levels also feature a power-tilt-and-slide moon roof and roof rails.
The 2018 Kona has a deceivingly spacious interior with 113.3 cu ft of total interior volume.
It is available in Cloth and Leather power adjustable heated seating surfaces.
The ultimate trim level features an 8" color touchscreen with navigation, an infinity premium
audio system with Clari-Fi music restoration technology, with apple CarPlay and android
auto, Sirius XM radio and Bluetooth phone and audio capabilities.
Additionally it has an available wireless charging pad and heads up display.
The Kona is loaded up with available safety features including blind spot collision warning,
lane change assist, rear cross traffic collision warning, lane keeping assist, forward collision
avoidance assist, driver attention warning, parking distance warning and more.
