I am here today in the first time racing with the Suzuka circuit and I am in the
Mazda mx-5 race I thought started pretty well I was expecting a big pileup on
turn one or two turn turn - like normally everybody played pretty good
and around the first first lap pretty uneventful
I tried to hold on to my
position as far as I could and see the people in front of me were definitely
faster than I was doing in I was up to my same old problems I've been having
lately with this Mazda
most of my issues was shifting happened when I up shift but did I miss some of
the down shifts as well causing this problem here it is weird cuz when I'm in
practice I do pretty good you know I don't miss as much and I feel well I'm
I'm ready to go race and then I get into the race and and then also it's a mess
then I almost ran into this guy cuz he just stopped in the middle Road I wanted to
go to the right but then the others caught up with me and right next to me
so I had to slow down and hit the brakes
don't want to be smashing into anybody anymore so rather lose the position and
cause trouble
still there
one of the things I want to make sure I could do also and our races hold my line
without worrying about sliding all over the place or wobbling back and forth
because it happens in the race quite a bit if you in a group so you want to be
able to hold it and not wreck someone help or wreck yourself out too
I know what happens anyways but try to minimize and if you're all over the
place and that's more menace than anything else so before speed I want
that control be able to hold the line keep my car going the way I want to
unless you're not too familiar with the tracking you're like me push it a little
too hard and go off track lose valuable time lose another position
I try to be a bit reserved on my racing on this track again because I it is the
first time racing on it I did plenty of practice sessions but and I found too I
was trying to hold back so I could be cleaner on the lines and staying on the
track but then you start getting into that mode where you're trying to catch
up with the guy in front of you and trying to keep away with the person
behind you and I start making mistakes or not doing it the way I practice in it
get a little bit distracted
or I'll just lose another position
over to radio oh it sounded like a couple people were having it out with
each other yeah causing each other a little bit of
trouble I don't know what's going on I didn't see it but it seemed like going
back and forth between like two or three drivers you know the usual hassle you
push me I'll push you back I don't know about that stuff but I just try to keep
going if I make a mistake and cause somebody trouble you know I apologize at
the end I don't want to be doing it during the race really because that can
another distraction while you're trying to at least get a good position at least
for me
and from this point I was pretty much by myself there was a couple people look
like they were battling for position behind me but I was hoping they'd hold
him off long enough to at least finish the last three or four laps and at least
come in 13th 13th for the 13th car so I guess I left lived up to my expectations
of what I racing thought I would do
it's sometimes it's okay to be by yourself because then you could just
kind of run the rest especially if you're already far enough behind you
just try to make up as much time as you can without worrying about too many
people around you
and in the end finishing up in 13th my team and my spotters did not seem too happy
Bring back to pits, we're going
oh well better luck next time maybe this jack won't be all the way in the back
next next time see you on the racetrack
