With the S90 ambience we have taken the idea of luxury, to the next level.

The mythical Northern Lights and also if you want to be energized you can actually select something that gives you a pulse of energy

Once you've selected your experience you will see it displayed in front of you on the headlining of the car.

You'll also get the sound from the enhanced sound system by Bowers and Wilkins

With extra tweeters in the headrest, and in the center of the car we have a device that holds four scents and

In there one of them will be deployed to match the experience that you've chosen.

So what we've achieved here is not only great

Scandinavian design but also a car that really connects with your senses and for me this really is the next level of luxury.

Our company transports mainly fuel products and air separation gases.

For those products, safety demands during transport are high.

Reliability and a low tare weight of the actual truck are important.

That's because the payload is very important. Payload pays, as we say.

The company was set up in 1925 by my grandfather.

He traded in sand and gravel.

Eventually, in the late 1950s, they purchased their first tanker truck.

That was the basis for the tank transport company to be set up.

As the third generation, I was initiated into the company at an early age.

The difference between now and the time when I was a teenager is enormous.

We used to work Mondays to Fridays with a small group of people.

Now, we are a 24/7 large company, employing a great many people.

With a lot of respect and care for each other, that's still there.

We are currently driving across the Maasvlakte...

the large, extended port area outside Rotterdam.

My work during a typical day...

consists of loading at the gate terminal, where I load LNG.

It is of utmost importance that our payload be as high as possible.

A 100 kilo saving on the tare weight of the truck...

can result, within our fleet...

in just one vehicle, to up to 150 tonnes of load per year.

The Volvo FH Lightweight truck is an excellent machine for us.

Volvo hasn't skimped on the cab or the comfort or safety of the driver...

but they still managed to deliver a truck weighing less than 7 tonnes.

For me, Schenk is part of my life.

I can say that I still come to work very happily each and every day.

I put energy into it, but that comes back to me in a very positive way.

Volvo S90 Ambience Concept Is A Three-Seater Luxury Cocoon

The 2018 Beijing Motor Show kicks off this Wednesday and Volvo owned by local automaker Geely will be there to introduce a new concept based on its S90 flagship sedan.

The showcar started out in life as the three-seater Excellence version and then it went through a number of changes on the inside to make the ride experience even more enjoyable for passengers relaxing on the rear seats.

The concept's highlight is the headliner on which various visual elements are displayed based on the selected theme: Scandinavian Forest, Northern Lights, Rain, Archipelago, and Swan Lake.

Besides these themes, the S90 Ambience Concept also has a Nocturnal mode when you want to rest and also a "Freedom" mode giving you a "boost of fresh and uplifting energy.".

The dynamic ceiling is complemented by the sound coming out of the Bowers and Wilkins sound system as each theme selected via a dedicated smartphone app modifies the aural experience.

The high-end audio system has an ace up its sleeve as it comes with small tweeters embedded into the headrests.

To complete the package, there are four specially made scents released from a special compartment incorporated in the center console.

Each theme is harmoniously matched to one of the four available scents that were created by Byredo, a Swedish high-end marque specialized in scented candles, perfumes, as well as leather goods.

While the S90 Ambience is only a concept for the time being, Volvo says it plans to offer this feature on the road-going sedan, with a focus on the Chinese market.

The People's Republic is a big deal for the premium brand as last year the company managed to sell more than 100,000 cars in the country for the first time ever.

In addition, China is not only Volvo's biggest single market, but also the largest marketplace for the S90.
