Planting the Cee'd: new Kia shooting brake concept previews design future

Kia's designers are hoping to inject some extra style into the next-generation Cee'd range, and we'll see the first hints of that with this new shooting brake concept at the 2017 Frankfurt show.

Although not much to go on right now, this shadowy image points to a sporty big-booted version of Kia's perennial family car, which could make its way into production in the future as part of an expanded Cee'd or Pro_cee'd range.

Kia even drops the hint itself; the concept is said to put forward 'a bold vision for a potential member of the next-generation Cee'd family.

A couple of the concept's features seem to have come from other Kia models. The rear light bar is reminiscent of the current Sportage and the bulky front wheelarches seem to have been lifted straight off the Stinger GT.

The shooting brake is a body type first for Kia, with the swoopy new concept keeping the 'athleticism of the current pro_cee'd model'.

The concept has come straight from Kia's design centre just 500 metres from the Messe convention centre in Frankfurt, so at least the concept won't have far to travel when the covers are pulled off at the 2017 show.
