at the LA Auto Show however some automakers got a head start
on the competition Tuesday afternoon that's right let's get
to the unveilings and executives
Nissan's luxury brand infinity unwrapping the redesigned qx50 the
next-gen compact crossover is built on an all-new platform featuring a
front-engine front-wheel-drive base layout the qx50 marks the production
debut of infinities new variable compression turbocharged engine it
promises the power of a six cylinder from a more efficient four-cylinder unit
here's Christian moon a infinities global division vp of marketing and
sales response for dealers is outstanding they're really really
excited you know that we're looking for it you know for a long time we had the
previous generation that we carried for a little too many years and they're very
excited they can see that as a big opportunity for their business for their
customer base and and all together for the future of Infiniti we're very
bullish with the future of Infiniti the future is bright the redesign qx50 is
expected to go on sale early next year Infiniti hopes it will help boost the
luxury brands US sales which were up 15% through October
Subaru is reentering the big crossover market with the all-wheel-drive ascent
the automaker taking the CUV on an off-road adventure during its debut in
La Tuesday night the three row ascent has room for up to eight people or dogs
that's right Subaru of America boss Tom Dahl helping
a tail wagging canines out of the vehicle to show its roominess the ascent
features more than 72 cubic feet of cargo space
it comes with an all-new power plant a turbocharged 2.4 liter boxer engine that
produces 260 horsepower Dahl says the ascent will play an important role in
Subarus lineup unfortunately but what happens before we get buyers when they
were younger but then when they were in their family formation years they had to
leave us to go to some larger vehicle well now we have the opportunity to keep
them in a Subaru family all the way through their ownership experience so
we're very excited about the ascent and what it means to our franchise and brand
going forward Subaru has been unable to cash in on the hot 3-row crossover
segment since output of the ill-fated Tribeca ended in 2014
ascend production will begin at the automakers laughing at Indiana planned
in the second quarter of 2018 the first models are set to arrive at dealerships
by early summer you are looking at the Lincoln Nautilus and it signals the end
of the marks MK naming scheme that some customers still haven't figured out
after more than a decade first to go is the MK X which will become the Nautilus
when the 2019 model reaches showrooms in the spring the MK X is Lincoln's
top-selling US nameplate the Nautilus will get a new front end and new 8-speed
transmission the brand says it shows the Nautilus name lanten for sailor because
it fits well with the travel theme evoked by the navigator and Continental
Lincoln plans to recurse in the MKC and MKZ when those vehicles get
significant updates meantime Lincoln says it will pilot
month-to-month vehicle subscriptions next year executives say the program
likely will start in a few California cities Lincoln is promising
significantly lower prices than similar car subscription services from rival
brands including Cadillac and Porsche that can cost thousands of dollars the
undisclosed fee for the Lincoln service will be all-inclusive covering insurance
maintenance roadside assistance and vehicle pickup and delivery customers
can change vehicles every month the fastest most powerful production

cluster visibility has been improved with larger windows and a new power sky1
Touch retractable top allows a driver to retract the Wranglers canvas soft top
with a touch of a button the jl wrangler hits us showrooms in january pricing has
