Hello dear We Drive friends, and welcome to a new video!
Sadly we won't drive today the car behind me, because as you can hear from the noise
Outside there's a storm, but you can be sure there will be a test drive in the future!
This will be a very detailed walkaround of the Citroen C5 Aircross
We saw it at its official debut, here at the Motus Citroen showroom, in Bari
But today we'll go deeper with this, talking also about engines
And having an in-depth tour inside
But before that, please subscribe to our channel and turn on post notifications with the bell button
And take a look at our Facebook and Instagram accounts
Well, if you missed the debut video, you can find the link up here
This car is a big crossover, but its design reminds more of an SUV
Starting from the front, which looks massive
With the black and chrome grille contrasting with the pearl white of the paint
and with the Citroen's Double Chevron logo
Then the headlights, splitted in two parts, one for LED and one for Xenon
And below we find some colors we'll find all around the car later
The plastic protections part in an orange-black combination
We find again this color combination on the side, in the Air Bumps
Citroen started to put these protections called Air Bumps from the C4 Cactus
I forgot one cool detail of the front part
On the bonnet there are two concave surfaces, very interesting design piece
This very C5 Aircross has 19'' wheels in grey and gloss black
Gloss black we find again on the pillars
And also, combined with the same orange as before, on the roof racks
Then there's a chrome frame for the windows, gives elegance to the side line of the car
And the side line itself makes the car look bigger
The car is 4.50m long, 1.67m high and 1.84m wide
Judging by these numbers, I suppose this will be comfortable inside
Then we get to the back of the car
Where we find the very good looking and originally designed LED tail lights
The chrome badge with the name of the car
In the lower part the plastic protections frame the exhaust tips
Now let's open the boot
Of course it opens and closes electronically
From 580 litres of capacity, you can reach 720 litres by sliding forward the back seats
You can also reach 1630 litres of capacity by folding completely the back seats
Pretty huge boot, here's the closing button
I have to say, this is a very interesting SUV
Looks comfortable, but if you have any doubts about it, let's check out if it's true!
Ok, I'm in, I got inside easily
This will be a comfort test too
Two things immediately caught my attention the first time I saw this car
The first one is easy to see: lots of tech inside
Behind the steering wheel there's a 12.3'' TFT screen for the driver
Completely digital, every information about the vehicle
RPM, speed, gear
The position of it is very safe, you can have infos without looking away from the road
In the middle there's the infotainment system 8'' screen
Under the screen there are touch buttons
Let's see, Music, A/C, Navi
I won't show you every part of the infotainment
If you're interested, let us know in the comments and Bart will make one of his Infotainment videos of this one
But for now, looks good
Below there's the A/C buttons zone
With the wireless charging of the smartphone
There's also a USB socket and a 12V one
And behind it, with the Start button, the Eco mode and the Sport mode
There's the automatic gearbox lever
The only gearbox available on the C5 Aircross is the 8-speed automatic EAT8
You get plastic gearbox paddles behind the steering wheel, too
I told you about the gearbox, so which better occasion to talk about some other infos
So, the engines
I still don't know when or which specific C5 Aircross we'll be able to drive in the future
What I know is that this car is on the market with petrol and diesel engines
Both turbo engines, with 130 or 180 HP
Another important info about the engines, especially in this moment of automotive history
By 2020 we'll be able to get an hybrid version, too, of this car
The second thing that caught my attention, inside this car
Is the color and material choice of it
All around the dashboard and the door panels there are dark plastic surfaces
But there's also brown Nappa leather
Contrasting with a darker shade of brown and a white Alcantara line
Then there are the stitchings, which look beautiful, I really like all this stuff inside
Down here there are two cupholders with LED light, now is off
A storage box in which I can fit my whole arm, unbelievable
And the overall design and tech inside is very rich
Maybe in a future test drive we'll show you the driving assistance systems of this car
This doesn't have AWD, is a FWD but has Grip Control for slightly offroad surfaces
I find the seat very comfortable, literally a sofa
The steering wheel has right dimensions, not too small
With many useful buttons on it
This very car has sunroof, the controls are up here
Along with other buttons for interior lights and SOS
Another specific design feature is the air vent
The latest Citroen family feeling has a specific shaped design in various models
This shape consists in rectangles with soft angles
Citroen put it in the C4 Cactus' Air Bumps
In the new C3's tail lights
But also inside the C5 Aircross, in the door handles
And in the air conditioning vents, very original design
The important thing in cars like this is overall comfort inside
So let's take a look at the back seats
Live comfort test of the back
Before telling you the comfort, I have to admit I'm 1.80m tall, to give you some context
I left the front seat in my own driving position
To make a really honest test about leg space
I have more or less 5 cm more of space, in front of my knees
But if I slide forward the seat, the space totally goes away for me
As I said before, by sliding each one of the three back seats forward, the boot capacity increases to 720 litres
But if I do it, I don't have enough space for my legs
Even if the back part of the front seats have the leg shape
So, if the position is this one, I sit very comfortably
A very comfortable thing, for who sits in the middle seat, is the lack of a high transmission tunnel on the floor
Let me get back here, I want to show you this part
There are two air conditioning vents and a USB socket
Well... Let me close this door, the storm outside is really distracting
By the way, here's a LED
Well, this deep tour of the C5 Aircross ends now
Prices start at 25.700 euros
I think this is a very valuable car with very good quality inside
Higher, of course, than the compact and medium models from the French brand
