YoungTimer: Test Honda RC30, mito del passato! [ENGLISH SUB] - Duration: 14:29.

Hey everyone! Today we will begin with a new series: YoungTimer

we will be talking about bikes with an age between 20 and 30 years and which are already relevant for collectors

there still are some great bikes, such as this Honda RC30, one of the best looking superbikes

YoungTimer is a well known name for vintage cars and there's even a newspaper for that kind of cars

we want to do the same for bikes from the 80's and the 90's, not only superbikes, but also smaller motorcycles and even mopeds.

With us we don't have the Stig, but we'll call him Stick and he told us that he's 40 years old and that he loves this bikebut, what about a Malaguti Tubone?

well, yes, of course, I've got that one as well!

we will test here every kind of motorcycle, such as Enduro, trial, mx, but they mustbe interesting models

this is a Honda RC30, a 2nd series, 1990, you can recognize it from the red wing, since the 1st series was golden, this is the best looking road bike!

VFR 750R, this is its full name, RC is the neame for all the racing bikes and this one has been had built in 3500 units, 1000 have been sold in Japan, while the rest in the rest of the world, that's why collectors love it

the design is still amazing, similar to old time racing bikes, it has an aluminum frame, it's a replica of the Honda NSR500 of Wayne Gardner

it has a single arm swingarm with an 18 inch rim, while there's a 17 inch rim at the front

the engine is a 750 cc V4 unit with an output of 112 HP, which was a great power, especially for a weight of 175 kg

the engine has titanium rods, which was something amazing, a double radiator, which was curved, like on racing bikes, it was a real racing engine

the fork is racing oriented with a quick release, just like for the real wheel, perfect for endurance races

This RC30 has an official racing HRC muffler, as the badge sais, and it's for track use only

this is an American version, so it has a miles speedometer, it's absolutely racing, with top speed od 300 kph. We have said everthing about it and I'll now let Roberto Tresoldi say something about it and about its palamres

he's one of the biggest experts about Honda, he has some amazing bikes. Which are the strengths and weaknesses of this RC30?

The RC30 is a milestone for Honda. IT's a racing bike, amde suitable for the road. IT has been introduced in London in 1987 and it has shocked the world

Strengths: innovative solutions such as the cascade gearbox, quick release fork, racing cockpit, single swingarm

weaknesses? Hard to tell!

This bike has won everywhere it has raced: The 1st two World Championships with Fred Merkel in 1988 and 1989, then TT, AMA SUpersport, 24h of Le Mans and 9h of Suzuka

This bike is for collectors, for those who love sportbike. It's a must for collectors

According to me, a strength of this bike is the design, it's very reliable and it's still amazing to ride

Weaknesses? This bike is very expensive but assurances tend to have difficulties to cover its full value in case of theft them the quotetions are extremely high, over 20k, but it should be a good investment

we're on Como lake to test this bike on road but.. .can I take a ride as well?

this is a great bike, let's go!

I'm soexcited to test this Honda RC30, The 1st racing bike which is street legal, like a SBK

even the riding position is track oriented, I'm 185 cm tall and I can't fit in, the handlebar is very low, 1st gear is very long, it's suitable for track

It has an amazing sound, it's very light: 185 kg and 112 HP, I'm riding in 1st gear at 6,000 RPM, amazing. It's a bit hot, but I love it

Riding this bike is like driving a Ferrari F40, amazing and listen to it sound, but the braking isn't too strong

it's very agile on twisty roads and very fun, the shift is extremely smooth with an amazing output

I love it

I'm running at 12,000 RPM, it gives me shiver, I'm not using it on track since it's way too risky for such beautiful bike, you've got to take care of it

Fantastic, it dances on turns, it's still a dream bike

this bike has been developed in order to win inside thew Endurance and the SBK championship and it's a real legend now, despite the 18 inch rear rim, which is pretty unusual

thank you! It gave me shivers, it's like driving an F40, it's still amazing to ride. I hope you've liked this test! What would you like to see? See you soon!

Why Not to Buy a Honda Element - The Worst Starter Design - Duration: 3:05.

Rev up your engines! today I'm going to show you how to replace

a starter on this poorly designed Honda, where you have to take the engine apart in order

to replace the starter, boo on the Honda engineers,

now I know it needs a starter because I checked the battery and the charging system and that

works fine, but the customer was complaining that once the engine was warmed up and she

tried to restart it, the engine would start really slow or wouldn't start and then eventually

it would start, which is a sign of the starter wearing out

and on this it's because it's hidden deep inside the engine and it gets a hear soak

and then it just burns itself out, now the first thing we do is take off one

of the battery terminals so we don't short anything out when we're working on the electronics,

get it out of the way, and then use an old pan to put nuts and bolts

in because we have to take all this plastic crap off to get to the intake manifold,

the you have to remove the intake hose to the manifold,

get it out of the way, then we unbolt the throttle assembly and pull

it out of the way, so all the wiring won't be in the way when

we take the intake manifold off, then we take the six bolts off the intake manifold,

then you slide the manifold, and there's not much room but you got to get enough room to

get to the starter, all I have to say is, curse the engineers

that built this, starters use to be, you just jack the car

up, it would be a couple of bolts, or on the top, you take the air filter off and it would

be there, these guys are idiots designing a car like

this, now there's no working room so in order to

get the stupid manifold out of the way we're going to have to take all this plastic crap

off, off that comes,

and we're going to have to remove the stupid brace too, so all this has to come off,

then you pull the crossmember out of the way, and now you got enough room to get to the

starter, and as we look inside here, here's the stupid

starter, now we can unbolt it,

then you move all the stupid wires out of the way,

and take the two bolts off that hold the starter off,

and then you wiggle the crap out of the starter and finally, there it is, the stupid thing,

then of course compare the new starter to the old one,

make sure the plugs are the same, the angle is the same,

and it has the same amount of teeth, because if anything is wrong, it's a lot of work to

take it all off again, then you slide the starter and you put the

top and the bottom bolt on and get them nice a tight,

then you bolt the electronics on and plug in the little starter wire,

and then comes the fun of putting all the crap back on,

I could strangle those engineers, we wiggle the intake manifold, and we wiggle

it and line it up, then bolt the throttle assembly back on,

the put the air intake hose back on the air filter and back on to the throttle and connect

all the hoses that you had to take off, and before we put all the superficial stuff

back on start it and make sure it runs, success,

so now you know what a pain in the butt it is to change the starter on a Honda Element

and why maybe, hey you shouldn't buy one in the first place,

so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos, remember to ring

that bell!
