Hello everyone from Spain. I'm in Jindrich and I was nominated as the as the member
of Canary Ride company – rental company from Gran Canaria as one of the
companies which can test the new Honda CB650 series and I am really proud to it.
And I'm very happy to be in Spain today to be able to ride these beautiful
motorcycles. So we have the 650. It's very highly expected bikes I have to say.
Due to you know – I could show you my numbers on my youtube channel on videos
from EICMA and Motorcycle live exhibition. There is loads and loads of
interest about these new naked bikes because this 650 - the previous generation
really needed to be updated and it happens now in 2019.
And I am very happy to be here today at this event in Spain. To be able to test
and bring you the first riding impressions of these new
Honda series. So this is CB650R. It's completely redesigned and updated.
Basically the engine is changed - 5 % more power means 70 kilowatts
and it has 1000 rpm more. The exhaust pipes are three mm wider but
the shape is fortunately the same. We have new suspension, new radially mounted
brakes. We have of course new design Neo Café.
We have beautiful light also the dash which is color this this time. Way better
than before. There is even even traction control and slippery
clutch and also on this version it's additional which is a quick shifter. Very
interesting. The bike is lighter, faster, I think it has 18 % more power to
weight ratio which is which is another great news and I guess you are probably
mostly interested how it feels on the ride so I will give you
my first riding impression. So let's do it
So I'm now sitting on the Honda CB 650 are from the series called Neo Café
and I'm sitting on the silver color variant. We have here also red
or maybe wine color a little bit and then blue and black. And my favorite
was the red one which somehow the paint, the finish looked look to me the best.
The most sort of valuable or or expensive to me, but somehow when I
was looking at this silver variant from all the angles, I was just thinking this has
nice proportions and I fall in love with the silver variant. So now I prefer this one.
I'm sitting on it right, we already did about 80 kilometers so again guys this
is the first writing impression test. Nothing too concrete and I can't
guarantee my conclusions and what is more: this revenue could be a little bit
influenced by emotions because sort of I have one month break in riding
motorcycles and now it's January the end of January and I just flew to Spain
flew into Spain yesterday after one month and I just can't be more happy to sit
on the bike and really enjoy the life on 100 % again. I'll try to be objective
and fair but you know I can't control my emotions and I can't be more
happy now. So this is the new Honda CB 650R. I think there is a
huge interest about this bike not only because of the price
which is very friendly but also it's because there is only small amount
of bikes in this category with 4 cylinder. And to be punctual it's
actually just two bikes: this one and probably the Suzuki GSX-S 750. Honda
always had this bike in this group but you know the previous generation
needed to be actually upgraded and the upgrade is this one.
First of all the engine was reworked as I probably already told you.
1000 rpm more. Tt has 5% more output or power if you want. 70 kilowatts exactly as much
as you can have to actually restrict the bike to A2 riding license with 35 KW.
So that's great it has some some changes on a pistons, spark plugs
intake which is now double sided and then it has an upgraded
exhaust with an amazing sound. One of the greatest things on this bike is the
sound which you hardly would find you know under us under two cylinder or
three cylinder bikes which could be proceed with competition this sound is
haha amazing and we have the sound engineer and and vibration engineer from
Japan which worked on this bike so I talked to him yesterday and he did a
great job they exhaust pipes are free millimeter wider to have a little bit
more you know sort of louder sound more air output and it's I just really enjoy
it and the sound you need to have the proper sound on the bike and of course
there are better ones and you know aftermarket options of N and etc etc but
for a stock price means for a stock bike if this price awesome also the engine is
very friendly to use and it offers a whole different whole you know set of
variants where you can ride it from 4,000 to 6,000 6,000 to aid a to 10 10
to 12 which is just great and it's always a little bit different motorcycle
with a little bit different sound and I just really enjoyed change these these
modes of riding just using your throttle and it's something you would again
hardly find on the Stute under to stir in their mt o 9 or sv650 suzuki or
anything like that and i'm not saying these bikes are bad or anything like
that but it's just very different very different and i am very happy for this
fresh air in in the category of middle weight naked bikes maybe the feeling of
the engine we were riding in the group today and uh you
that happening I mean it has enough power almost anytime but it can happen
that you need to down gear to maybe second gear if you really want to keep
up with others and and sometimes you feel it when you have steep hill or
anything you just need to go on a second but to be honest almost even on my
excess are 900 I need to do it sometimes and when I arrive if ducati people I
need to even put when I first gear sometimes so I don't consider this as a
problem it's not the fastest bike but it's really really fun to ride it and
it's also good for beginners I would say so the engine is great this version has
even a quick shifter I will probably show you the quick shifter in the
function soon it's very good it's additional accessory but and it only
works up you know up gearing you know I'll given you and you gear up it has a
cable throttle which is an interesting thing and the reaction are good if you
go if once you have your your throttle already there it's the reaction or
changing it's very smooth like four cylinder but on and off it's a little
bit nervous and probably one of the small disadvantage of the bike or one of
the things are already discovered on it which could be a little bit easier it
has to you have to get used to it and probably will I have no problems another
we're speaking about disadvantages another thing I don't like on the back
are the metal or tires which just don't feel as good as the Dunlop's which you
can find on the CBR version so I hardly can find you know the certainty or the
trust to do these tires especially on these Spanish Spanish roads today but
again it can be just a matter of you know to be used to it but
yes again this engine is beautiful again it's not the fastest but I'm really
really having fun and the glue shifter haha it's so smooth so fast and again
once you are in a long radius curve it feels so stable and also on the throttle
you are not afraid to change the position of the throttle because it's
four-cylinder and it's so so smooth as I like it again if you really want to go
fast you need to gear up the gear down once or twice but we all know there is
our four cylinders right we have also new - new design the dash is a color and
it's way better than on previous generation but it's not brilliant it's a
little bit dim and on the direct sunlight of the span in this plane of
course you don't see all the details you see the the current gear which is quite
visible but then maybe if you want to see the RPM right now it would take you
a lot of time but you obviously don't have when you ride a motorcycle
the brakes are changed or radial mounted brakes which are very sensitive and very
nice for the category it's not you know this track bike but it's a very you feel
very safe and that's very important there are also emergency lights when you
hit the brake you know strongly and if you stop the bike it will it will blink
you know of all four all four blinkers which is which is nice feature
the bike is is the bike is lighter than the previous generation about six kilos
so I think the wet wine before the you know the full full tank is about two
hundred two kilos and it's also due to a new frame new subframe I believe you
know loads of loads of changes new wheels it has and but it also has the
less less fuel and less oil I think 10.8 like eight deciliters of
the of the oil less and then two liters I guess so it's supposed to be like 15
liters tank which is a critical like some people criticize it
because of you know you have less kilometers in range but my consumption
is about six liters even when you ride bike quite hard so I think it's not such
a such a big issue there is this question whether these old good Hornets
and CBR 600 F from you know let's say 1998 our back and Honda doesn't present
it totally absolutely not like that but I would say that they are not back
because we are 20 20 years later but we definitely have the replacement for
these bikes because we we got the bike with 70 kilowatts just almost there and
it's it's it's lighter than than these bikes so and it's way more modern better
suspension better brakes sound is incredible so for this price tag very
interesting bike so again guys this was just a short test and I did 100
kilometres so my effort was not to tell you all the details about the bike all
the conclusions the final conclusions not at all so you know it was just my
first riding impression I hope it helped and if you really want to like want to
know more I will have this bike for a week to do a proper test possibly at the
cannery right at the motorcycle rental business which is you know my friend is
the new owner in Gran Canaria he's probably buying this bike which is which
is good thing good message good news and I'll be testing the back there or or in
the Czech Republic and then I'll tell you my conclusions and anything else but
if you want to ask anything just let me know in comments I'm happy to answer and
if you like my video just hit the subscribe button or like button and see
you soon at the next episode thank you very much and bye guys
you
